A GA reader (and Mike DeFusco supporter) sent me the above pics of a second strike made by the mysterious Nasty Fairy.... though perhaps she left a clue?
The reader wrote: 'I think I got them all... from Bloomfield to Adams from Observer to 4th Street."
Okay, so if that was the trick, when do we get the treat?
Late last night (or early this morning) when Hoboken residents were tucked in their beds, the Nasty Fairy was at work!
Yep, the Nasty Fairy slid these flyers under doors all across Hoboken! (If I were advising the Nasty Fairy, I would have told her to check the weather report first!)
But enough of these beauties will survive, no doubt. Thanks to the reader who sent both sets of high-quality scans!

Wish they would have put Manchurian Goat (sp?) formerly Popular Goat (sp?) in there. I won't hear the end of it now. Hell hath no fury like a Goat ignored. Can you photoshop him in there?
ReplyDeleteConsidering circumstances, some health issues, it's a pretty foolish move to put Patty Waiters on this flyer. I think this will backfire to some extent on the authors.

DeleteDon't see what Campos would be doing either. I don't know how much these help anyone regardless of message. But I still look forward to th "Candidate X will convert HHA to condos" fliers. Who knows, there could be four different ones this year. Collect em, trade em with your friends.

ReplyDeleteagree that patty could have been left off due to her situation but i don't think it will matter one way or another. the folks who created flyer don't expect the average hoboken voter to know these people or anything about them. the purpose is just to associate mike with a laundry list of shady looking figures and the start baggage they carry.
it's taken awhile but FINALLY someone other than ravi gets dinged! (not counting the "vicious attack" on the snowflake brigade by the mayor, of course...)

Roman is hinting he thinks it's a Ravi flyer which makes him either really stupid (he's not) or someone who thinks his handful of readers is stupid.
I read it more as "this is bad but Bhalla will do something worse - just you wait." I.E., I read it as an inability to get through an article without throwing shade at Bhalla even if he has nothing to do with the article.

DeleteI found the inclusion of Pat Waiters and the parking authority woman (who I never heard of) to be particularly offensive. It's beyond me why anyone would think this stuff works.
It's really scary to think that if Ravi doesn't win Romano or DeFusco will be mayor on 1/1/18.
But sadly that's where we are.
Everyone who's been through even one or two Hoboken elections knows the Russo-backed candidate inevitably disseminates a midnight flier exactly like this one. The arrival of a Russo-sponsored midnight flier roughly two weeks before each and every election is as much a certainty as the sun coming up in the morning.

His coy attempt to leave the impression this may have even the most tenuous connection to Ravi is a deliberate distortion worthy of the most truth-agnostic of his idols in the Breitbart sector. It's designed to dupe low-information voters and feed talking points and rationalizations to Jen partisans.
This is what he's reduced himself to. Once a leading crusader for unpacking the truth and cutting through the noise, he's become the noise machine itself. It's actually quite sad. But we shouldn't be sad, we should be angry, and use that anger to fuel efforts toward humiliating these people on Nov. 7.

How this narrative is playing out is 1000% MSBreitbart - but this is beyond comments sections I'm seeing in play out on Facebook and it even made it to the precious letter page in the Hudson Reporter which then #4thPlaceJen tweeted. Of course Jen didn't say what is happening is bad - why say bad thoughts when everyone else can for you.
His readers are pretty stupid. The smart readers gave up on that blog for anything but entertainment purposes a while ago - and it is no longer entertaining. The lack of anything remotely resembling a robust dialogue is rather telling and suggests that site will go the way of its predecessor. The perils with aligning w/ the dark side.

DeleteI am pretty sure I am going to blame Jen and company if reform loses this election cycle. She is a complete lightweight, is at the absolute back of the pack and does not and never will have the support of most reformers. Each vote for her is a wasted vote and a vote against reform.
Delete@da ojo rojo, for as much as i speak out against "jen" and her candidacy, i give her credit for supporting the administration on many council votes over the years. like mayor zimmer, i just think ravi better suited and the better choice to serve as mayor. the problematic part is she's most likely in fourth place and yet refuses to step aside for the good of reform and the city. if MDF or romano win, that will be a permanent stain on her record that negates all the good work she's done on the council.

That whole stink she and some of her supporters made about the mayor's attempt to rectify the Suez contract just turned me completely off to all of them. This is not the first time you have disseminated his material either, there have been several pics taken by Matt Calicchio that he gave you and you posted. This kind of collusion between different camps is strange. Are you both that scared of him, or has a deal been cut? Perhaps both.

DeleteGiattino is evasive about just how Republican she is, but the biggest liars are to be found with MDF and his supporters. What they have in common is that their loudest cheer leaders aren't doing them any favors, which is comedy gold. We're in the last week, and it's probably going to get uglier, especially between the Romano and DeFusco camps.
DeleteFor the record, Jen first said she was "sad" about Charlotesville. It took people calling her out on whether she condemned what happened and the President's equivocal statement on it, for her to come around, and release a second statement on it. That fact is missing from Tiffanie's post.
ReplyDeleteI have no problem with her being a Republican. There are a number of Republicans who have played as critical a role in turning this city around as any Democrat.
ReplyDeleteI DO, however, have issues specifically with the following three things related to her national politics:
1) On local issues where broader ideological views can inform one's position, such as parks, flooding, rent control and hate-crime policy, she has been intellectually dishonest and presented different faces to different people and in public vs. private. She should be straightforward about what she thinks and let the people decide if they agree with her, and that hasn't been the case.
2) At a time when many issues stemming from the national political climate have had a greater-than-usual impact on local matters and voters day-to-day concerns, Ravi has chosen to take a stand as part of his identity as a public servant. Jen and her surrogates have condemned him for this, which is a means of further deflecting from the fact that she may hold unpopular positions.
3) She as accepted support from and given financial support to people who have attacked Ravi with explicit and implicit ethnic and religious overtones and innuendo instead of calling it out and demanding that it stop.
4) She has attempted to manufacture a narrative in which Dawn Zimmer has not done right by the people of Hoboken, which is simply false, opportunistic and deeply dishonest.
Like I keep saying, disinJenuous. Don't reject her for being a Republican. Reject her for being a lying weasel.
