BREAKING: Karen Nason endorses Kim Guadagno for NJ Governor

Comments

  1. Karen is a republican with the faith of her convictions. Frankly given Murphy's terrible answers on NJ's pensions if it weren't for Guadagno's horrible treatment of Mayor Zimmer, and threats to try and force unwise development on Hoboken, I would have considered voting for Guadagno.

  2. Yet another reason why I respect Karen Nason. What you see is what you get- she is open and honest about who she is, and what she believes- take it or leave it. Voters can trust her.

  3. Yeah but Jen has a sign in Church Towers. We might need to write another article about it.

  4. changing topics for a moment...do we have any sense as to who has the best shot at winning council seats? i'm guessing they don't poll for those positions, any gut feels? do people tend to vote down the line with the mayoral candidate?

jim doyle seems to be well liked, i imagine/hope he gets reelected. aside from mello, i don't know the others on all the tickets.

if "jen" does indeed serve as the spoiler and gives the mayoral race to romano, reform will need a majority on the council to keep things in check. will the reform splitters put their egos and hurt feelings aside and realize we're all on the same team, or will they carry the chip on their shoulders?

wish i felt more confident about all of this.

    1. I agree I'm hoping Jen, Tiffanie, and Peter will support Ravi's agenda after he's elected and not join the Russo/Ramos factions in grandstanding. Hopefully people will have had time to "work through the math" on things like the Union Dry Dock and a fix for the Suez contract so they can be voted on to Hoboken's benefit.

  5. The issue has less to do with whom anyone is supporting for governor and more to do with the alarming consistency of Jen's noncommittal answers. "That's a personal question and the reason the ballot is secret" is a far more acceptable answer than the completely implausible "I haven't decided." Yes, she has decided, and we all know it, and she knows we know it, and this is a simply false, untruthful statement that insults our intelligence. Some people may still take issue with her simply saying she declines to answer that question about a private and personal choice, but at least it would be honest.

Jen's constant need to smile and nod and be all things to all people should set off alarms for anyone who witnessed Mayor Zimmer handle the many tough decisions of her tenure. Can anyone seriously imagine Jen staring down an angry mob of yellow-shirted police-union operatives and doing what needed to be done? Dawn took no pleasure in being the bearer of bad news - but she bore it nonetheless.

Jen is not up to the job, not even close, and disinJenuousness remains her hallmark.
