DeFUSCO BRINGS PETITIONS TO HHA CHARITY EVENT
This one tells you all you need to know about the character of Mike DeFusco and his Dark Side acolytes.
On Saturday, a charity event was held at Mama Johnson Field for the kids of the HHA. It was a 'back-to-school' giveaway: pencils, notebooks, book-bags.
Mayoral candidate Anthony 'Stick' Romano was there. He didn't bring petitions, or campaign literature, he brought book-bags. 100 book-bags.

Say what you will; a kid doesn't care if his/her book-bag came from a mayoral candidate or Joe/Jane Schmo. Stick has a heart.
So, what happened next? After the donated school supplies were dispersed...
Guess which candidate showed up EMPTY HANDED except for PETITIONS?

DeFusco couldn't spare a couple of bucks from his substantial war chest to buy some school supplies for the kids- anything? Not a frigging pencil? But he has the BALLS to crash the HHA back-to-school event empty-handed except for petitions to help himself?
An outraged HHA resident sent GA a bunch of photos with this message:
Obviously the rules don't apply to Mike Defusco and his supporters because no campaigning on hha field but his supporters were getting petitions signed on the field during a children's back to school event. How low can one stoop? They took advantage of the HHA event because the Director wasn't present. Defusco,Alicea, Yacco, Waiters, Ramos, and Belfiore hijacked the event

How low can they stoop? Well, a picture is worth a thousand words.

Well, the race appears to be unfolding as GA predicted.
According to the latest poll data, Ravi Bhalla still holds the lead, but right behind him are Anthony 'Stick' Romano and Mike DeFusco. Yes, DeFusco has leapfrogged over Giattino from a distant last place, apparently swapping positions with Giattino.
GA has no idea what that means. The poll could be a outlier. Or it could forecast that DeFusco's churn of developer-funded proposals is boosting his name recognition.
While DeFusco has been spraying developer money like a feral cat, Giattino has largely ignored her Dark Side challengers. Instead, her campaign strategy appears exclusively focused on making Ravi Bhalla an unpalatable Reform option.
Not only doesn't this strategy appear to be working, it seems to have backfired.
Reform voters are looking for a positive message, new ideas, not attacks on Reform comrades.
Of course, the 40% undecided are tuned out, and these positions may flip and flop a half dozen times before election day, but anyone who ignores data really does occupy Sybil's Cave.
DEFUSCO'S DIRTY DOOR-TO-DOOR CAMPAIGN
GA hears that candidate DeFusco is knocking on doors, and telling big, giant lies about the competition, some outrageous.

JEN GIATTINO VOTED "NO" ON EMINENT DOMAIN FOR THE SOUTHWEST PARK ON JULY 20, 2011
Folks, don't know what more to say. This fact is being challenged on a particularly fact-challenged, Alt-Right online venue today.
On August 2, 2017 GA posted the video evidence that Giattino's first vote on eminent domain for the acquisition of land for the Southwest Park was "NO."
The video was filmed by the City on July 20, 2011, not by me.
GA also wrote that Giattino's following votes supported eminent domain for acquisition of the Southwest Park. This is public information. It is not an "attack". The truth is not "misinformation" or a "smear.'"
Campaigns should and will examine the voting records of other Council-candidates.
The significance of Giattino's first "no" vote on acquisition of property for the Southwest Park is up to the public to decide. Not GA or an Alt-Right tabloid.
JULY 20, 2011 CITY COUNCIL MEETING
This is blatantly false. DeFusco donated backpacks filled with school supplies and was acknowledged publicly at the event. This picture and false information came from Matt Calicchio, who is a paid Romano campaign worker who is registered and votes in the HHA, but has not lived there for years, and has had previous legal issues stemming from his political harassment of people such as Dawn Zimmer and Roman Brice. It is very disturbing that this site is working in conjunction with Romano and this type of character to spread lies.
ReplyDeleteReally, "Ken Osmond"? Well, I've just confirmed that Cheapskate Mike was not acknowledged as a donor in the ceremony- nor was he there until it was all over-- except to get petitions signed. If Cheapskate Mike donated anything to the HHA kids, it is a secret shared with you.

I know all about "Flashlight" Calicchio's past. Yes, he lurks around the Romano HQ, but NO he is not a "paid Romano campaign worker."

GA - I think what Ho-Beauken-Doubt is saying is that DeFusco is not a reformer, and that reformers are trashing each other. If there is a reform movement, it is comprised of people who seriously consider the outcomes of elections in our community, and all don't agree about how to get there. MDF is involved with those who want to drag us back into the bad old days of corruption, grafting, patronage jobs, no-show jobs, and the list is endless. If he wins, he will owe a lot of favors. If he loses, he will owe a lot of money. He should be running scared, not running for office.

He's surrounded by most of the Old Guard stalwarts and dark lords like Belfiore, Ramos, Garcia, Soares, heck even Cammarano's probably behind him quietly. He's a liar and a weasel. He's a developer stooge. An opportunistic turncoat. A guy who's ready to sell out the community's interests to the highest bidder, just like the old days.

He hasn't tossed batons.
He hasn't endorsed candidates he likes.
He hasn't told me I might not have the votes to get on the NHSA.
He hasn't expressed opinions about Donald Trump or any anything that falls south of Observer, north of the Tea Building, east of Sinatra or west of Paterson Plank.
He doesn't have a funny name.
He isn't a contract Sikher, if you get my meaning.
He isn't a shadow.
He isn't a puppet.
He isn't a lady mayor.
He isn't a Stab.
He isn't taking credit for things where he was one of several votes of which Jen was also a vote.
In short, he isn't a Backroom baton-botching Bhalli Ravioli.
So lay off him, GA. Just because he'd make a terrible mayor who runs counter to everything we stand for doesn't mean we're going to campaign harder against him than we will against someone who stands for everything we stand for but has not shown us the proper respect.
Get with the program, or get got!
