Earwitness News: DeFusco Fundraiser Haul

Wow!

Just when GA thought it was going to be a quiet weekend, my ear received an extra-hairy Earwitness dispatch from a well-coiffed Q-Tipster!

The Earwitness report concerns last week's fundraiser for mayoral candidate Mike DeFusco.

It seems that GA's 'toast' graphic may have rankled a few hammers, anvils and stirrups in the DeFusco camp, so this silver-maned Q-Tipster wanted to set my drum straight.

Are you ready, folks?
"Just want you to know, that you depicted Defusco as toast, well this week's fundraiser's haul was $75K with more donations coming in. That is $150K to date."
Holy cow!  The Q-Tipster added:
"Rollout of the 1st running mate statement soon."
Very intriguing!

Of course, I debased myself trying to find out who the "1st running mate" is, but this Q-Tipster held his cotton balls tight.

Ah, well.

So when will we find out who and where all this loot came from?  The next ELEC report is due on or before July 15...

Stay tuned, people!

  1. Of course this fundraiser was held before Anthony "Stick" Romano said he was going to be in the Hoboken mayoral race too. Since he would be campaigning to basically the same old Hoboken base as Freeholder and has the advantage of knowing that base knowing him he wouldn't have to spend a penny more. If Romano just had the goal of paying back his so called friends for their disrespect and disloyalty to him just act of running against their new boy DeFusco would guarantee they lose. The more mud they sling at Stick the stronger he becomes. Payback like Karma can be a bitch.

    1. True. DiD they take in 75k in checks or in pledges? Maybe defuscos pledges will disappear...

    2. If Mike is such a joke, why are so many writing about him? If Zimmer or her masters were smart they'd call off the dogs.

Relax kids, millions read this blog. She's a shoe-in. Take the rest of the year off! See you at the victory party at the HQ nobody will rent to her

    3. 8:25- It's fairly obvious that my source came from the DeFusco camp. Why do they leak to this blog then complain about it? Make up your minds, DeFusco peeps!

  2. His campaign slogan should be - "My position is whatever you want it to be if you write a fat enough check."

  3. The awkward display of chest beating over fundraising is in response to the news that Freeholder Anthony "Stick" Romano will join the race for mayor.

As a point of reference. Councilwoman Elizabeth Mason reportedly spent in excess of $1,000,000. in her last attempt to become mayor of Hoboken.

    1. Stick doesn't have to spend a dime. If he just puts his name on the ballot he will end Mike's already slim chance.

  4. Romano finally files a long over due 2 years late ELEC report, buy he needs cash bad. Heard cheques are made of rubber, what better way to pay debt than run a faux mayoral effort then never file to run.

They try to discredit the blogs because they fear them.

    2. @8:27, you sound nervous, or scared. Being a Mike supporter must kinda suck, huh?

  6. The problems DeFusco faces are more than half of the people who he needs to vote for him don't even know who he is. Those who do, see nothing but constant negativity, questionable allies and transparent grandstanding for attention.

The biggest problem he faces is that most people think Hoboken is already good place and getting better under the present leadership.

    2. 100% spot on here. For some of us who did support him in his Council race (and had high hopes for him), how he's acted on the Council, his lack of initiatives and project success as well as overall bickering and whining hasn't won him favors. You don't become successful by pointing out problems and not doing anything to fix them. You don't achieve by blaming others. What accomplishments does he actually have under his belt?

  7. 12:41- Let me give you a tip about not getting deleted. Friends and/or peeps I know call me "Nancy". Dirtbags who come in on proxy servers to drop trash and/or pretend to be from Ontario and/or threaten me with "certified letters" and losing my house, not only don't have the privilege of calling me "Nancy", their posts go into my SPAM folder for use later. No, of course I am not deleting your little venomous morsels. They are recyclable.
