Fitness to serve

As if it weren't bad enough America is thisclose to electing a guy who throws poo on Twitter,  a New Jersey gubernatorial candidate may be thisclose to picking a Lieutenant Governor who, as a Hoboken elected official, needed staff to pick her Halloween costume, teach her to sit in a chair, and read constituents' private mail presumably to draft the replies.

It is fair to question any candidate's fitness to serve for any government office, be it President of the United States or the Lieutenant Governor of New Jersey.

As an American, it is terrifying to imagine our country governed by a tangerine Caligula.

As a New Jersey resident, it is alarming to imagine that a Councilwoman who needed staff, consultants and a full-time political operative to perform a simple, part-time Councilwoman job for ONE ward of a Mile Square city in the line of succession to become Governor of New Jersey.

To put it in perspective, the 2014 U.S. Census Bureau reported that New Jersey had a population of  8,893,000.

The 2010 Hoboken Ward map shows the 2nd Ward had a population of 8,905- roughly 0.1% of the population of the State of New Jersey.

0.1%!

So, if a Ward Councilperson requires a committee to choose her Halloween costume....

read from BOTTOM up

...how many staffers are needed to train a Lieutenant Governor on how to sit in a chair?

And if a Ward Councilperson cannot read and answer constituents emails  in a ward of 8,900 how in the hell could she co-govern a state of 8.9 million people?

The Bajardi SLAPP discovery emails were rife with examples of others performing this elected official's duties including sharing her 2nd Ward constituents' private email.  In fact, a single discovery production on November 26, 2013 included over 100 pages of 2nd Ward constituent  private email forwarded to (future) SLAPP Plaintiff Kim Cardinal.

Here are but a few examples:

Well folks, the fitness to serve of potential candidates for office is a matter of public interest and public concern.

GA is concerned.

  1. I almost had a heart attack when I saw the reference to 1,223 "likes". I thought that meant for the picture which would have meant that that many people currently are watching and like her. So I checked. And I was comforted to see that only 7 people liked this post from July. And as importantly, her entire page still only has 1,223 "likes". So not one new like since then. Phew... Still concerned though for all the reasons GA mentions above!

    2. In prior versions of Facebook "Pages" like Mason's you could see who the 1,223 people were. I scrolled through and I can assure you at least 1,000 were not Hoboken residents let alone NJ residents.

  3. Mason is a minor league version of Trump. Totally useless idiot who arrived on the scene thanks to someone else's money. How anyone who has witnessed Mason's antics in town could support Trump is pretty sad

  4. Kinda hard to miss the obvious entitlement mentality between the sisters, Beth and Hillary.

Both accomplished nothing but married and hitching ride's to their hubands' coattails and feel entitled to make a mess of everything they touch and call it resume worthy. Hillary failed the DC Bar Exam and Beth Mason failed at an advertising career. Only the cough-a-matic keeps gal pals on the side.

Hillary loses and hammers over a dozen phones and iPads as it came out in a institutionally corrupt Friday night dump on Labor Day weekend. Like countes$$, Hillary's success is all lies upon lies built on more lies. A cursory view spells disaster. ISIS anyone?

Well Mason met her waterloo eventually as her true enemy is the public (and bloggers), not much different from Hillary who makes Hoboken corruption look like kiddie training.

Mason Civic looks inert compared to the Third World despots conned into giving tens of millions to the Clinton Foundation for who knows what. Russia at least got a good chunk of US uranium in that national security swindle. Viva La Bomb! Oh, were not going there, Putin is laughing WITH Hillary and there's mythology to uphold.

Another obvious similarity; both gals obviously hate pay to play laws but only one is a proven traitor.

As a general rule, I don't vote for traitors. It's an American thing, ideologues wouldn't understand.

The Trump campaign is also facing a new crop of editorials, with the Miami Herald saying it’s “puzzling” why Trump’s controversy is not getting “equal billing” to that associated with the Clinton Foundation.

“Unlike the faux scandal over the Clinton institution, there were actual victims here — people who paid good money to Trump University and feel they were duped. Why is Pam Bondi not investigating that?” the Miami Herald editorial board wrote in an item titled, “Donald Trump’s gift to Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi deserves a closer look.”

    3. I think Beth and Hillary are similar as well. Hillary is far more intelligent than Beth, but the similarities listed above are a fair representation of the women.

I wouldn't vote for Hillary or Trump if you paid me $40 or $400. :)

Gary Johnson is the best choice in this election cycle. Even Jill Stein cannot compete with him.

    4. The Clinton institution reportedly only uses 10% of what it collects for the causes they say they are taking in money.

Far to much is being spent on perks and bennies for the Clintons and their friends to call it a real charity except for tax purposes.

    8. This was pretty funny, "faux scandal over the Clinton institution."
Didn't even the pro-Hillary NY Times tell the Clintons to stop taking loot from Third World despots and other foreign "donors?"

The Clinton Crime Syndicate has graciously offered that she will not take any more bribe money from overseas if she becomes President.

Of course Bill and Chelea can rake in tens of millions more. Another sacred cow down in flames. If Hillary was a Republican, these same defenders would castigate her.

When Hillary isn't out celebrating her bribe success, does she wear an ear piece to cheat in public forums as yesterday? Thats the latest question after she fared poorly in that Matt Lauer event last night. (Wouldn't you know, that journolist guy is another donor to the Clinton Crime Syndicate.)

We don't accept any of that Hillary nonsense in Hoboken with counte$$, so I don't see why anyone should for President. The only federal office Hillary Clinton deserves is a federal pen. #NeverHillary

He's also not receiving intelligence briefings and probably can't point to every city where there's an issue in the world. Oh the horror!

he's not wearing an ear piece during interviews and he's not talking about making Mexico build walls. He's still the best choice.

      Delete
    11. Maybe you should take a look in the mirror and ask yourself a question on supporting the House of Saud, the clitoris cutting kingdom and how your candidate Hillary Clinton takes tens of millions of dollars from them.

That's not related to any local laws you raise on building but tens of millions HANDED to her. What does the Saudi king expect he's buying for those tens of millions given to Hillary Clinton?

If Hillary Clinton was a Republican, it would be front and center day after day. Put a (D) next to her name and the global pay-to-play corruption is A-OK. Here's to Julian Assange finding more emails on those dozen phones and a few iPads "lost" by Hillary that she claimed didn't exist.

And here's to Americans turning out to make sure the most corrupt presidential candidate in our lifetime never gets to set foot again in the Oval Office.

Just heard an Emerson poll out and NJ is shockingly a four point race within the margin of error. If that's the case, Clinton is finished. If the Queen Corruptocrat can't easily win the Soprano State easily, she's toast.

Mason is poison and everything she touches turns to shit. So glad she got behind Crooked! Thank you Beth!!

Allegations of profiteering from donations to the Clintons proven false, but you won't find it on Trump Media wing Breitbart.

    13. @Snoopy, anyone with half a brain who reads a newspaper (or news website) knows the issues regarding Aleppo, no special security briefing necessary. I prefer that my president have half a brain. Perhaps he should put down the bong and become a serious candidate (which obviously he is not).

      Delete
    14. @annon 9:21 - if you prefer half a brain, then Hillary is your choice. The other half seems to be melting away. Hence her need for earpieces and her lack of pressers. She can't. She's lost it. Hillary 8 years ago isn't the same as Hillary today. Much like McCain 2008, Hillary is over the hill and lost her chance.

As for Trump -he may have half a brain, he may not.

But to your point about Aleppo - No, that's not true. Plenty of people know Syria, know the conflict, know there's a real issue, but cannot name the city of Aleppo. It's not brought up in the news daily, it's not in most articles about the Syrian conflict, and it's a city in a mostly unfamiliar country, and the entire country is war torn. It's not an issue.

Also, while I don't use marijuana, it's not any worse than alcohol. So you & all the other over 50 types who are worried about bong hits are showing your age. :)

    16. Snoopy do you have a clue what Johnson's platform actually is? Do you care? Or is it enough that he's not Clinton or Trump and since he's not going to win you intend to vote for someone who you know nothing about?

      1. Do you think we can balance the budget by just cutting it 45%
      2. Do you think we should replace all other taxes with a consumption tax that shifts the tax burden onto the poor and middle class and away from the wealthy?
      3. Do you support an isolationist foreign policy?
      4. Do you think we can maintain a strong military after cutting our military budget by 45%?

Johnson is not just a third party "concept." He's a guy with an actual platform that would be considered nutty by many of those who say they support him if they bothered to find out what he actually stands for besides not being Clinton or Trump.

Vote for Clinton. Vote for Trump. Stay home. Vote for Johnson or Stein if you actually agree with their wacky policies and think they'd make a good president if they miraculously won. But find out what they stand for and understand that a vote for them is not just a vote against Clinton and Trump.

In my opinion we have not 2 bad choices but 4 and I will be voting for Clinton not as the least bad between her and Trump but as the least bad of the 4.

      Delete
    17. anon 1:02 - thanks for your concern.
      1. No, I don't think that will work. And he won't do it.
      2. Yes, I think consumption tax is a great idea as long as its' done properly. If you don't tax food/housing/clothing under a certain $ amount (like in NYC) how does this impact the poor more than the rich? When the rich buy an airplane, a $15mm house or a ferrari, should they not pay considerably more for it? This would get tax money in from them that otherwise escapes the income tax rules because of inheritance, living off of the residuals of a trust etc.
      3. To an extent, I would love to be isolationist. If we could go all the way that would be glorious. We cannot.
      4. I think cutting military spending is critical. See #3, that makes #4 possible.

While you seem to think you're the only informed person in this conversation, you are wrong. But that's what makes america great, even people who are wrong get to voice their opinions for all to observe. To that end, I also agree with term limits, his jobs plan, and his ideas about education. I disagree with him on abortion, but that's not the biggest issue I have in life nor is it a great concern of mine that abortion rights will be overturned.

How can you support Hillary who is so much like Beth Mason it's unbelievable or Trump who is a blowhard?

    1. You don't vote separately for LG. Its like president and vice. You vote for the package.

If Sweeney puts her on his ticket and wins she wins too. So she has the same chances of getting elected as Sweeney does and if he's the dem nominee (50/50 chance right now) he will almost certainly win.

So yes, if Sweeney is the nominee and she winds up on Sweeney's ticket it is very likely to happen. Sweeney will probably pick a woman from North Jersey to balance the ticket and Beth will likely be on his vetting list. I think he's more likely to pick someone like Sandra Cunningham but Beth is a real possibility - a bit of a long shot but not the longest shot out there.

Can you do something about the shit show that this post has become? The ALT right has invaded your home. Not you, Snoopy, but I do think that a person running for president has to know about Alepppo, and not think that it is an acronym. That was a HUUUGGEEE disappointment to me, from someone who is considering voting for him and would like to see him participate in the debates. But, my thoughts on equating Trump v Hillary:

Clinton = an ice cream headache
Trump = a headache from a malignant brain tumor

There just is nothing to even debate on the issue, unless you are wearing a tinfoil hat. #NeverTrump If that means I have to hold my nose and vote for Hillary, then so be it. I would rather live another day to get a headache from eating ice cream again instead of wasting away at a Cancer Treatment Center of America facility.
