OUTRAGE: TWO Hoboken COPS in Mason's trial-entourage

Hoboken sends TWO police officers to this petty political bullsh*t "trial?"

Sit down, Hoboken taxpayers.

GA arrived at Jersey City Municipal Court shortly after 9 AM today, to attend the Count SLAPPula v. MSV trial.  A big surprise was waiting inside the court room. Actually two of them.

In the back row of the courtroom were Councilwoman Mason, Steve Kleinman and "two Hoboken police officers."

That's right, TWO members of our police force were yukking it up in court with Councilwoman Beth Mason, who in my OPINION, comported herself like the hostess of a cocktail party. Mason, flanked by her attorney and members of the HPD, was smiling, laughing.  GA sat down in the front row, while the group at the back loudly giggled like BFFs.  One of the officers was in uniform, and the other in plainclothes.

I later found out the plainclothes officer was Detective Jonathan Mecka.  Which begs the question:

Why were two Hoboken police officers, one a detective, neither of whom witnessed the alleged "harrasment,"  flanking Councilwoman Beth Mason in Jersey City Municipal Court?

On the Hoboken taxpayers' dime.

What REASON could possibly justify this?  So, if the officer in uniform took Mason's statement and needed to testify, what was the detective doing there, for this ginned-up political bullsh*t case?

Trust GA, it is a big pile of bullsh*t.

Why would Hoboken think this was a good use of our police resources- two cops?

Were both HPD members prepared to sit in court all day when the Jersey City courtroom is a 10 minute-drive from Hoboken?

Further, in my OPINION, the officers were not comporting themselves as one would expect.  Instead, they yukked it up with Mason, attentive to her like she was handing out party favors.

What was funny?

GA is really disgusted.

Comments

  1. Clearly Ferrante STILL does not have control over the HPD DISGRACING itself performing political favors for it's friends in the old guard. Shameful. And no attempt WHATSOEVER to show impartiality in court. They were there to do YET ANOTHER favor for Beth and didn't care how onvious that was.

Tell us Chief Ferrante when can we expect your officers to resume the practice of interrogating bloggers in front of their children as a favor to your friends?

    Disgraceful.

  3. Keep in my mind that this bogus case is a bogus criminal case not bogus civil case. the "prosecution" is (or is supposed to be) managed by the prosecutor not by Mason or her attorney Kleinman. If the prosecutor requested that the HPD make the two officers available as witnesses, then their presence is not only appropriate but probably required. Any request from Mason or Kleinman should have been ignored but my guess is that it came from (or was at least confirmed by) the prosecutor's office.

Sadly my guess is that the prosecutor has probably improperly handed the behind the behind the scenes decision making of the case over to Kleinman.

That's a lot of guesswork, friend. Or maybe it's just the same old bullshit? Or maybe rats are running behind the chief's back?

      Those are my guesses.

    2. What if the prosecutor made no such request and/or these officers went without Ferrante's approval?

  6. Yes. Ed Mecka is also a retired HPD Captain.

    2. Yep. Wasn't that when the agreement was made to have the deadwood retire and no layoffs ?

One or two of the retires were put back on the payroll. I don't recall who but I bet Councilwoman Castellano might remember.

    3. Back when Hoboken had been driven into State receivership due to the mismanagement of Mayor Roberts and his City Council (Ramos, Cammarano, Campos) it did not have contracts for either the Police and Fire Departments for years and the State said FIX IT or we will fire the last hired.

Mayor Zimmer and the City Council FIXED IT and now Hoboken has fair with both the HPD and HFD.

    4. Yes and the "child" detective continuously thumbs his nose at the Mayor.

      Like degenerate father like son.

To have respect you must EARN respect, but this is lost of them as their lack of education shows on a daily basis.

Tell me Hoboken, how did this little boy get promoted to detective? Can he even find himself through the streets of Hoboken?

Appointments such as this must really cause friction within the "establishment" . This must really eat at the the good cops, yes there are good cops.

    1. What does Zuped mean? Is that some incredibly clever combination of "Zimmer" and "duped?"

I think most people have little trouble separating the good guys from the bad, even among those who parade around flashing their "reform" credentials while shilling for developers.

    5. You mean that asshole-y accusation that Ferrante collected vbms for Annette and DeFusco? Got proof? Let's see it. I didnt think so. You don't even have balls to sign your own name to an accusation like that. My site is not your urinal. Piss elsewhere.

      Delete
    6. You know for a fact VBMs aren't being collected by Senior? Really... okay.
And why be so angrry, it's not illegal to collect a certain amount of VBMS as long as chain of custody is followed and within the new carrier limit. Can't have it both ways, either the HPD needs to be reformed or it was Reformed.
      If it's not, why not?
But oh, wait, nobody can show displeasure or the petty children start with Klaussenesque insults and outings

Didn't GA tell you to go piss somewhere else? Cant take a hint, can you, wee man. Here is a clue - this is NOT 411, and it is an insult to GA and her fight for three years against a First Amendment assault. Where the fuck were you? Hiding behind her skirts? How dare you disrespect her by constantly trying to high jack threads with your sour grapes kumquat infused venom about the Mayor and her husband? Who the eff cares about your sordid little and petty grievances. Get over yourself.

    8. QOTV, not exactly sure, but from the "Wee Man" comment , you may be sinking toa 411 like low. If the person I think your attacking, you may want to reconsider since that person contributed to the legal defense financially, and testified in affidavits and depositions.... Nancy knows

    1. Just imagine if everyone who Mrs. Richard G. Mason's law firm of Wachtel, Lipton Rosen & Katz served with a subpoena pulled this crap,

    2. Exactly right. And to have TWO Hoboken cops wasting our tax dollars for this malicious, abusive, frivolous POLITICAL VENDETTA disguised as a "harassment" complaint is outrageous. Horsey has the evidence to bury her... and she knows it. She's dragging this out to waste his time and money.

    3. Not that the money matters to Beth, but can the judge make her pay for lawyers and court expenses like the judge did with Lane and Kim if he calls this a frivolous lawsuit ?

    6. MSV says October 30. So Beth Mason has litigated Horse for a year on her trumped up allegations. Why do I think she's in quicksand?

      Delete
    7. The bitch is going down. Today, October 30. Doesnt matter. Toying with Horsey's civil liberties, like the legal and proper service of a subpoena, "will not stand." Let her get the whole hpd to lie in court. Justice will be served.

This will play out worse than the Hoboken Democratic Committee. Word is the evidence is piling up against Mason. She won't be able to suppress anything near enough to even make it look like a draw in defeat.

She's going to be walking away looking like a total jackass. Ricky is going to be a laughingstock again.

  14. So even when it's a non-day, it's a bad day for Bit Mazon and ergo, the Old Guard.
Always interesting how these folks lie in the council and go right on doing it under oath. Hudson County Prosecutor's Office better keep the pokey door open for Bit.

She's clearly dying for a little wang-a-lang-a-ding-dong. You know from Kong. Cuz Little Ricky ain't goin anywhere near dat pud.

  15. In my OPINION, Beth Mason couldn't care less if she wins this case. She's just dragging out expensive and time consuming litigation as a not-so-veiled attack on Horsey. He (and GA) dared question her "authority", and now she wants him to pay a price. I'll bet she doesn't show up for the October court date and the case ends up getting pushed back until after the first of the year.

She truly is the Queen of Mean, and apparently blind to the karma already on display from the SLAPP suit and her failed political career.
