Mr. Happy Meal

These are among  Carmelo's "campaign expenses..."   taxpayers bought his Happy Meal

When a Pupie falls in the forest and there's no one to hear him did he make a sound?

GA doesn't care who's OUT of the race.   It matters who is IN.

Assemblyman Carmelo Garcia wants to replace Jen Giattino on the City Council, and that is a terrifying thought.   Garcia is the last person in Hoboken who should be entrusted with public money.  Remember Garcia spent $385,000 to replace vinyl flooring in 10 HHA elevator cabs?  Remember the 14 incorrectly sized, new "Sandy-proof" generators, that sat in an HHA parking lot for almost 2 years?   Remember that FEMA's Hurricane Irene grant to raise HHA generators that silently disappeared in 2011, before Sandy hit (2012)?  The list goes on and on...

GA has taken a look at "Garcia for Assembly" ELEC reports, specifically campaign disbursements, which are the expenses paid by the campaign.

Garcia's April 21, 2015 ELEC (when Garcia was replaced on the ticket) shows the Assemblyman blew through hundreds of dollars in taxpayer money at McDonald's, Target, ShopRite, CVS, Dunkin Donuts, Exxon Mobil, for NJ Devils tickets, at a newstand (calling it a "meal for campaign meeting"), for numerous "meals for campaign meetings" in local restaurants.

On January 30, 2015, a day Garcia was in Trenton, he charged three "meals for campaign meetings:" 2 in Hoboken (Delfino's, Grimaldi's) and 1 in Trenton.
Hungry Carmelo.  Taxpayer-subsidized dining at 3 restaurants in two cities in one day.

Questionable expenditures pop up on other ELECs.  On October 1, 2014 Garcia gave a $300 "contribution to non-profit organization," RSK Academy.  Rising Sun Karate Acadamy is not a non-profit.   The "check no." is left blank.

One can only imagine what the unreported expenditures have been since.

6th Ward candidate Carmelo Garcia's utmost contempt for Hoboken taxpayer is evident; taxpayers have ALREADY PAID the $150,000 deductible to defend  his moronic  "ethnic cleansing" complaints against Mayor Zimmer, her husband, and other public officials.

We need folks to volunteer for the Jen Giattino campaign, to ensure Hoboken residents are protected from the likes of Mr. Garcia.

Please, make sure your friends and neighbors are registered to vote and on November 3, please...

VOTE JEN GIATTINO

  1. Raia is a bad guy. Russo was a worse guy.
I don't think anyone ever thought Raia was going to win against Russo.
The only reason to care about him was it was thought that he would distract Russo from helping Garcia and Costellano.

Councilwoman Jen Giattino has done a great job for her Ward but also as part of the City Council she has done a great job for Hoboken as a whole.

    1. I'm not an expert on this stuff but the IRS would have a field day with Assemblyman Garcia. These personal expenditures are taxable as income.

  3. Those expenses are jaw dropping. Brazen like a guy who knows nobody gives a damn. Only in Hudson County does a guy like this have a second life, and a third and a fourth....

  4. As a taxpayer, I'd like to stick a Happy Meal up Carmelo's ass.
Unfortunately, I think he'd like that so I'll settle on reporting him to the IRS.

Maybe one Fed agency will finally do something. He should have been in jail long ago.

  6. Team Ramos Damage ControlSeptember 26, 2015 at 8:21 AM

A true politician knows the hearts of his supporters (and non-supporters). He knows that for all their naysaying, they want him to be happy and enjoy the full fruits of his labors. Whether it be a salary and health benefits. Or a bunch of pensions, an addition on the house, weekends in Atlantic City and passing every imaginable personal expense, no matter how trivial and self-indulgent, on to the taxpayer.

It's not what Mr Garcia wants. It's what you want. He is submitting to your will as his ultimate boss. And won't it be a joyous Christmas this year at the Garcia home thanks to your desire to see him spend extravagantly on every conceivable creature comfort. See you on the slopes!

A side note. Thanks to the whole out of town team for continuing to discourage participation in the Giattino campaign by implying she will have no difficulty beating one of the most connected guys in north Jersey.

Yeah, it's over. No question. Not only do you not need to volunteer, you don't even need to vote!

    1. Wow, it's over? No need to volunteer?? That is a reckless philosophy. Whether you think Jen is going to get it or not, you should never tell people to not volunteer or to not even vote. Jen will win, but that doesn't mean to abandon all efforts. You're worse than the catfish, but you two do seem to share the same intellectual capacity,

    2. It's far from over and 2nd warders need to know that electing Peter would be to elect the worst parts of Hoboken's corrupt players who will be calling the shots if this dim-wit is elected. Just look at who showed up at his kickoff, it seemed from the photos that every other person there served time or committed indictable offenses.

But they're not counting on voter turnout alone, no doubt their illegal vote harvesting techniques have already begun as VBM's pour in from Applied.

No, all it will take for Peter to win is for enough voters to sit this one out, after which we'll be drowning in back-door deals made with developers and we'll long for the Mason days.

    3. Dear Anon 8:09 and 9:04 - It's pretty evident that Team Ramos Damage Control was being facetious. In fact, that poster explicitly thanked the out of towners for their help - a clear tipoff the poster was fooling around.
No one believes they don't have to vote or volunteer. Calm down.

    4. 8:09, are you sure you want to question anyone's intellect mere seconds after demonstrating that an obvious joke (TRDC) sails over your head?

Take your time replying. That could help.

    1. I've seen plenty of ELECs, but NEVER like this... McDonald's? CVS? ShopRite? TARGET? How about just grabbing a taxpayer's credit card for his personal use? Same thing.

This reflects on the ethics and honesty of the entire ticket, especially Biancamano and Ramos who are close friends. Get the word out, people!

    2. I honestly expect no less from the scum. He really is only in this for himself. And his friends and associates are no better. None of them are trustworthy or deserving of being put in office.

    3. Is this a case of "quantity over quality"? You know, put a whole bunch of miniscule crap like this in the report and hope noone notices the glaring elephants missing from the reports?

      Delete
    4. Yep, hobojoe. This crap is low-hanging fruit. Carmelos elecs need a real forensic audit. For example, hotel charges, payments to workers for (alleged) fundraisers and other curious expenses.

  8. Yo Pablo. Sorry to disturb you on a weekend but looks like we need you to divert some budgeted hours from of the Biancamano project to helping deflect attention from this latest Carmelo blunder. Maybe have the boys post some generic comments about potholes of Washington and dirty streets or something, just grab some of the boilerplate talking points and we should be good. Thanks, bro.

    1. I'd much rather deal with a Fonseca, for whom this is nothing but a job, than Beth Mason vendetta driven crew of scorched earth psychopaths. Speaking of which, a friend passing by saw a large manila envelope taped to Lane Bajardi and Kim Cardinals building yesterday, with big black writing, their names and "subpoena. "

    2. Interesting development, anon@11:13. Be curious to know what that's all about. I'll bet there's NO ONE happier than Lane and Kim that election time is taking up lots of GA's and MSV's editorial attention. Otherwise, plaintiffs would still be in the midst seeing new examples of their embarrassing emails scrutinized in public on a daily basis. Personally, I can't wait to get back to them.
