GA's Ballot Guide

The whole ballot-thingie

Well folks, yesterday was the Big Reveal: ballot positions for Hoboken's November 3 election.

Since ballots can be confusing (remember Florida's notorious "butterfly ballot" in the 2000 presidential election),  GA has provided a handy 2015 Ballot Guide below.

GA's guide is designed to help voters navigate their ballot, so they don't vote for the wrong people.

  1. Thanks GA.

As we get closer to the election a quick how to tutorial on how to fill out a VBM ballot would be helpful for those who don't have a OG political operative helping them. WINK WINK.

In Hoboken's famously/infamously elections every vot counts.

  2. Your ballot looks slightly different from Horse's. I can't quite put my finger on it. It's extremely distrubing the resemblance between Mister Carmelo and Hruben.

    No me gusta.

  3. We need an Operation Mayhem for the 3rd Ward...

  4. Reform's BOE ballot 2+4=6 is easy to remember.

    1. Stay away from ODD numbers:
      Montgomery-1
      Madigan-3
      Kauffman-5
      Waiters-7

  5. I almost wish Blanco made the ballot so we could see a devil pic wearing a straightjacket while being fed a bottle of lithium

  6. Terry looks pretty good since her horns grew in. Beth must have been giving horn grooming lessons. Biancamano looks happy as always when he's doing his pitch forked best for Pupie an uncanny resemblence to Eduardo who I heard did a fine job of handing a speaking position to Carmelo Garcia at the Elysian ribbon cutting.

That one's really exploding in his face. It's all over the Elysian community and the parents are rip-roaring mad. Too early to find out who that benefits more Peter Cunningham or Jen Giattino.

    Call it a draw.

Also hear Sheillah's a punk rocker and a doll and Adys is a sweetheart of a parent. Tom Kleupfel is a nice man who works to do good work.

Quite simply, odd number on the BoE ticket are The Devil! ;)

  7. The Defusco square needs a huge highrise with a sign on it that says, "millenials only, please"

    1. Castellano seems to be worried this time around.

    2. Couldn't say whether or not Terry's worried. Personally, I think the Mayor should be worried about the guy she's endorsed because, were he to win, the Mayor will "own" her endorsement of a supremely pro-development council member.

    3. Would DeFusco have voted "NO" on the 6 acre park like Witch-i-poo did the other night? Would DeFusco have voted NO on corner cars or the garage refinance bond or the bond for a traffic light at 1600 park or bonding for Pier C repairs or new HOP buses to replace the ones wrecked in Sandy like the First Ward Seahag did? DOUBT IT. DeFusco is better than that NASTY tired old crab in a thousand ways. So if he's "pro development ", he's 1 vote of 9. Can he suck more than Terry? HELL NO.

    4. Development will inevitably come to the NJT property and intelligently addressing it head on instead of dithering about the good old days and doing nothing as Terry has done is much preferable.

I also think that is a direction that most people understand and support.

    5. We know Councilwoman Castellano has a history of violating her obligation of City Council confidentiality so she may have been the source and not her cousin Michael Russo.

That could also be why Russo was caught flat footed at the meeting and rushed to shut Gonzales up.

  8. Each election I simply vote ABC - Anyone But Castellano

When she was first elected 20 years ago, I had called to get some help with the bar fights on first street. I worked late nights in the city and it was hell walking home... in Hoboken.

She was utterly dismissive with a "what do you want me to do about it" and I told her "enforce the existing laws against serving alcohol to those who are visibly intoxicated"

Then not too long after I went into Shitty Discounts. I must have smelled or something. Cannot figure out what about me caused her hideous sneer when I asked a question about an item. I think I smelled like "newcomer" (although I was already a 10yr resident)

Sandy? Where was Terry? On the only dry land in the First Ward...more worried about her "base" in Marineview than the majority of her constituency that was flooded out.
By the way did you know that if you manage to get an apartment in Marineview, even though you never lived in Hoboken, because you are somebody's something, that newcomer smell automatically disappears.

    1. If Castellano will only be nice to you (at least to your face) if she thinks you will vote for her. If she thinks your not she will either ignore you or be dismissive to down right nasty. Even those who once tolerated that before are now saying she has to go.

  9. So it looks like the 1st warders are stuck with a choice between a candidate that only represents BnRs and a candidate that will only represent residents that are under 40. The Mayor's slate really let us down in the 1st and 3rd wards this time around. Hope we pick up a reform vote (Tiffanie Fisher) in the 2nd and hold the 5th & 6th; otherwise there, is no super reform majority on the council (not counting a Wefer win in the 4th which is an admitted long-shot.)

    1. Is that so? Castellano "represents" BnRs at photo ops and ribbon cuttings, She went MIA during Sandy unless you call jawboning in the lobby of Marineview while volunteers were bringing food and medicine to Marine view elderly and disabled tenants. Terry was doing NOTHING but bitching about "communications" with the mayors office while her BnR consituents were being helped by the Mayor's volunteers, City emergency services and the National Guard called in by City Hall. Why do you think DeFusco will "only represent residents under 40." because he's not decrepit?

    2. Is this is the line of bull that Terry's son and campaign manager to divide Hoboken again so his mother can stay in office.

The Castellano's always take care of themselves and the Russo family first and have built a multi-million dollar real-estate since Terry got into office with her cousin Anthony Russo was mayor.Terry's has failed at hiding her passive aggressive negativity as she well as she used to and people can now see therought her fake facade.

    3. Not here to help anyone with re-messaging. DeFusco is working hard to appear like he's all things to all people. Nothing really wrong with that, that's what candidates do. Carefully crafted messages that omit certain words, spin in certain directions, highlight certain things show anyone that's paying attention what the candidate is really saying and where he really stands and what we'd really be getting should he win. He may be a nice guy and he's certainly running a "sincere" campaign (note the quotes) but I'm suspicious of someone that comes out of the Cammarano school with a twist of "people like us" thrown in.

  10. At first glance it seems that you equate people with "ethnic" last names with the devil, was that your intent?

    1. Glance again.

By "ethnic" you mean DeFusco? Velez? Giattino? Cunningham? Oh yeah, "Irish" is an ethnicity. Nice try.

      Delete
    2. Well at one time Irish names WERE considered "ethnic" and taboo, but I was referring to Castellano, Biancamano, Ramos, Occhipinti,Gonzalez, and Garcia. You know the ones you put the little pictures of the devil on.
