Carmelo's Cost to Hoboken

Dear G-d, I apologize for peeing during the creation of this graphic

The total dollar amount 6th Ward candidate Carmelo Garcia will cost resident taxpayers of Hoboken has yet to be tallied.

So far, Garcia has cost Hoboken taxpayers $150,000.

$150,000 is the deductible for the City's legal defense against Garcia's claims of everything from ethnic cleansing to racketeering.  The fusillade of litigation against Mayor Zimmer, her husband, former HHA Chairman Stuiver, current HHA Chairwoman Dana Wefer and HHA Commisioner David Mello  began on August 12, 2013 and continues to the present.

What is unknown is the dollar amount of any settlement to Garcia, should the City wish to avoid the expense of a trial.

If the City settles, the total "cost of Carmelo" to Hoboken taxpayers would be:

$150,000 + settlement* = HOBOKEN TAXPAYER'S COST
*taxpayer money that will go to Louis Zayas, Esq. and his client Carmelo Garcia

If the city does NOT settle, the "cost of Carmelo" to taxpayers:

$150,000 + trial cost** = HOBOKEN TAXPAYER'S COST
**cost to conduct a civil trial in Hudson County and Hoboken's cost to defend

If there's a jury award, the "cost of Carmelo:"

 $150,000 + trial cost** + JURY AWARD = HOBOKEN TAXPAYER'S COST

WHY would Carmelo Garcia, who is in the process of draining taxpayer pockets for his 'ethnic cleansing/ racketeering'  claims believe he belongs on the fiduciary body charged with protecting the interests of the Hoboken taxpayer?

As jokes go, the 6th Ward is not laughing.  Here are Garcia's 3 complaints our wallets have been tapped to defend.

Some of my peops were ready to go to Mikie Squared and party with Carmelo on his dime. He smelled us out. We're not paying $300, no one is.

Other than that sucker he doesn't like (or Tania) - Bet Mazon.

  3. Beyond the financial costs to the people of Hoboken associated with Carmelo Garcia there is the moral costs of having someone like him representing them.

The good citizens of old and new Hoboken have tried hard and has been successful in lifting their city out of the quagmire of political corruption to be dragged down again.

  6. We couldn't. We shouldn't. Their watching us.

Fewer then fifteen people turned up for Garcia in the park last night.
The thee R's (Russo, Romano, Ramos) and almost all do not live in the 6th Ward or even Hoboken.

They all quickly dispersed after listening to one of Garcia's whiny rants about being a victim and his own perceived progression to greatness. Awkward.

  8. I hope that paltry turnout for the garcia candidacy launch event is indicative of his popularity in the 6th ward, and a foreshadowing of Jen's re-election. Go Jen!

  10. Carmelo Garcia is a liar and a real screwball " I have lived in Hoboken my entire life but I also have the distinction of my pedigree from Harvard, Stevens, and Seton Hall. I am a hybrid,” "
He is not a Harvard Grad. He took some seminars and courses there.
He went to Stevens while working full-time for the city and obtained a "double masters" when Stevens needed variances for a garage.... Hmmm...

    The man is a sociopath

    1. Chris Campos doesn't live in Hoboken but Carmelo Garcia has him as part of his paid Assembly staff. Your tax money.

Remember when Pat Waiter who was also on Garcia's staff got in trouble for making anti-Semitic public comments he wrote her apology letter.
