Fifteen arrests, plus 3 more later... according to nj.com:
Holy cow, an "open air drug market" in Hoboken? Apparently so, according to a 2-month investigation performed by the HPD Narcotics Unit and the Hudson County Prosecutors office.
According to nj.com:
"Eighteen people were arrested for selling marijuana, heroin and crack outside the West Side Plaza, a strip mall on Jackson Street, Hoboken police Chief Kenneth Ferrante told NJ Advance Media. Police arrested 14 people on Friday afternoon and one man on Wednesday in connection with the drug sales, he said. A majority of the people arrested were outside the strip mall at the time of the raid. After police announced 15 arrests late on Friday, three more men were arrested near the Hoboken Housing Authority in connection with drug sales outside the strip mall, Ferrante said."Yikes. Excellent work by our HPD under Chief Kenneth Ferrante. Make no mistake, this is very dangerous work.
GA is heartened to see an HPD focused on crime, not politics nor nailing the geeks of Reform.
This would have never occurred under Assemblyman Carmelo Garcia's watch. Right.

No protection for crack heads and dealers these days.
DeleteImagine if one of the accused agrees to talk about what's gone down over there for years...
ReplyDeleteOne of those arrested was a Braxton - same family of ardent Beth Mason supporters?
ReplyDeleteSaw that, had the same thought. But no address listed.
DeleteThe Braxtons of the HHA are big Beth Mason supporters.
Great start for Chief Ferrante and his PD.
ReplyDeleteWere all the other Hoboken Police Chiefs deaf, dumb and blind ?
ReplyDeleteThis has been going of for decades and they did squat.
What happened to the rule you get convicted of a felony you get your ass kicked out of the HHA ?
Julian Braxton is Arlette Braxton's Grandson. She raised him too
ReplyDeleteIs Beth Mason using the family checkbook to spring Arlette's family member out of the clink?
DeleteIf this person is convicted and they all live in the Braxton apartment don't they face eviction under the one and done rule?
Will Beth Mason be moving the Braxtons into a new apartment?
Under the "one strike" law that's been in effect since 1996, if the alleged perpetrator is convicted, the HHA is mandated to evict the whole family and no member of that family can re-apply for public housing for three years. But c'mon, remember, this is Hoboken, in Hudson County New Jersey, where politicians accept bribes, buy votes and flout election laws. No one's getting evicted just because the federal government says so.
