  1. interesting. Cleary there are TWO Hobokens.
YES on killing rent control seems very popular in wards with new expensive condos (e.g., former wastelands in the north part of town) whereas NO was the big vote in older neighborhoods that contain affordable and low income housing.

  2. Wow. based on this, reform could potentially win 2, 3 or 4 with the right candidates.

    1. Definitely Ward 2. Beth Mason has made a lot of enemies, with her lack of support for stopping Monarch, funding disruptive lawsuits, attempting to prevent the sale of the hospital....need I go on? Our challenge is, as you say, to find the right candidate.

  3. Ward 2 offers the best chance, but based on the vote totals, Ward 1 may be second in line. Wards 3 and 4 will be uphill battles for at least the foreseeable future.

In wards 1 and 2, it will still take a great candidate to unseat the incumbents. The person will have to campaign very hard, and be known among the community -- someone like Jen G.

And, I'd fully expect Mason to finance a third candidate like a Franz type character, which will only make the road tougher.

  4. No one on the Board of Education election got ANY absentee ballots? Zeros all the way across?

  5. Oops. I meant VBM's? No BoE VBMs?

    1. There definitely were BoE vbms. I will be posting updated (unofficial) results probably in the morning.

      Provisionals are also missing.
