Election Results: The Bhalla Effect

GA was very interested in the impact of the unrelenting media blitz presumed to be funded by Hoboken's biggest bully of them all: Beth Mason.

Because really, on top of circumstantial proofs such as her longtime operative Barry Brendel popping up at the City Council to videotape Bhalla, who else could afford to carpet bomb YouTube and Facebook with ads, and 'persuade' the Hudson Reporter to run slanted stories about Bhalla in the weeks prior to the election?   Perhaps a City Councilwoman who employs a political operative and runs an anti-Zimmer shadow movement out of her 1200 Washington Street 'Civic' association.

And who else is MEAN enough?  Perhaps a Councilwoman who underwrote a BoE campaign that sent videographer Brendel to my Zoning Board meetings then put the film on a Nazi Truck?

And who else is ETHICALLY-COMPROMISED enough to pull such a dirty trick?  Perhaps a Councilwoman who ran political operation out of her 'non-profit' 501 (c)3 and employed political operatives who admitted so on June 7, 2012 in a Union City Counrtroom (Matt Calicchio vs. State of New Jersey)?

There is only one human being nasty enough, rich enough, ethically-compromised enough, and some believe, crazy enough to orchestrate such an evil, mean-spirited, city-wide defamation campaign against one man.

Your guess is as good as mine.  And I'll bet it's pretty good.

So, after this media juggernaut against one man- a good and decent man- what impact did it have on voters?

A nominal impact, if ANY.  Because let's face it: Bhalla wears a turban and is an ethnic Sikh. In ice-cream flavors, he's more Toffee Crunch than Vanilla Bean.

See for yourself.

Please, can this mean, vicious, stupid woman and her double-crossing hack be extricated from the Hoboken's body politic once and for all?

  1. At the end of the day, people should realize how much Beth Mason has actually done for reform by convincing so many people to hate her and everything she stands for.

  2. It is amazing to think that just a few short years ago, and even after she lost in 2009, Beth Mason actually endorsed Zimmer in the run-off. Of course, shortly after that she started with "Dual Job Dawn" and has never looked back.

Going back even further -- at least as late as 2008 Mason was seen as someone who had potential.

It is truly amazing where her mix of money, desire to win, and willingness to take any position she finds to be beneficial at that moment have gotten her.

    1. The Masons have always been morally bankrupt while having a great deal of money.

  3. pupie spends (at least) $150k of his own money on his campaign and ravi gets 50% more votes than him. works like a charm!

  4. Bhalla did get fewer votes than his running mates in most districts, so Bet created a TINY dent or some folks in Hoboken are just racist (go figure).

  5. Beth Mason's stunts have gotten meaner and more vicious over time...in direct proportion to her growing desperation for attention. This time she's gone too far and, in doing so, has permanently turned off a large portion of the electorate. Thank you, Beth, for pushing so many residents into the arms of the Reform cause! We could have done it without you, but we won't turn our noses up at a little help from time to time.

  6. Imagine all the good Richard Mason could have done in Hoboken with all the money he spent propping up his wife's ego.

  7. Beth truly does not care for Hoboken anymore but thinks politics. First she was a reformer went after all the born and raised and hurt a few along the way and now she want them to follow her. Dream on they just love spending your money. I hope Ravi sues her for a large some and damages her credibility too.
