Washington Times Names One Hoboken Slate

DOOFUS-Gate's gone viral, hitting the UPI with some stories naming all candidates as "mocking" the New York Giant, Eli Manning in the now-famous Peyton Letter.

Yikes.

Countdown until it hits the Associated Press news wire.

Why is the Ramos camp so quiet?

Comments

  1. Ramos campaign is stepping back and watching the Timmy campaign implosion. They are gearing up an attack on the mayor around parks believe it or not.

  2. That Washington Times reporter follows MSV on twitter. Picked up by the Washington Times. Hee-haw! Chow down on that Timmy and co.

    Buon appetito!

  3. i am guessing ramos might be helping to spread timmays fancy article.

  4. It was a dumb letter to start with. It was almost as if Timmy wanted to help Ramos' campaign.

  5. Time to fire the campaign staff entirely and hire a new staff to tell Tim what to do and put together his binder of talking points. The current comedy of errors managing Tim and his campaign kinda suck.

  6. what you really have is one vast rip off of raia. Everybody from Cryan to their press person is skimming off Rais's cast while the money can be had, but Raia and Tim are too stupid to know that first, they can't possibly win, and secondly, that they're being taken to the cleaners for a much money as possible before the campaign runs out.

    1. the real danger would be if Tim actually won. Raia and Beth might want someone to account for what happened to all the money they spent on the campaign -- this suggests, of course, that someone might be cooking the books.

    2. Fascinating Anon. This sounds like Mel Brooks 'The Producers'. Everybody makes money off of a bomb. Under this scenario, Frank is getting conned, and Tim is too big a doofus to know better. Wonder if Beth Mason is being tapped too. I heard she had not given them $$$ yet.

  7. Raia wants to be on the city council, running Tim is the only way to get his name on the ballot, that's it. Raia will probably get the seat, that will suck. End of story.

    1. If he gets the seat it will suck. I don't think he gets the seat b/c everyone around him sucks (not that he doesn't suck) and the people running w/ Zimmer don't suck. So long as people keep focused on running a good race and work hard to get Zimmer and her allies elected, he will not get that seat.

  8. this peyton letter is so stupid and the subsequent national viral coverage happened so quickly that i wonder, perhaps, if there IS some truth to the early speculation that AP is in fact a ramos plant, sent in to spy on and upend the mason/raia ticket. think about it: she writes a nutty letter, gets it published in the HR, and then she and the ramos team fan the fires by spreading the word to every other media outlet. hmm. nah, couldn't be. could it?

one thing is for certain: pupie is getting reamed. as someone else said: "how can a guy who is so successful in business be so dense when it comes to politics?" he's being run over, the campaign is a mess and he's being robbed blind.

  9. Jamie Cryan also takes a swip at Eli on this facebook page, which he also did before the Peyton letter. Jamie has no shame and no class.

  10. What's very interesting is I am told that the publication of the Peyton Letter in yesterday's Jersey Journal HAD to have been approved through the One Hoboken campaign according to protocol. Which means someone INSIDE Timmy's campaign seems to have pitched the letter, AFTER it was widely panned in Hoboken.

And Cryan is still attacking Manning you say? Hmmmmm.

    1. The JJ may have sat on the letter for a while and when it hit the fan they published it.

It looks like someone on the Raia/Mason campaign thinks any publicity is good but the blow back from this sort of bitchy letter is doing much more harm than good.

It is hard to go back to try to push the One Hoboken message when you are best known for being devisive and attacking good people in Hoboken.

    2. Yeah, my guess is the JJ got it at the same time as Patch and HR (weeks ago at this point) and "got" One Ho approval at that time but never ran a story about it. Then when all this national attention popped over the past few days, JJ decided to dust it off and post their own (late) story, no need to get a second OH approval. And disagree that the mayor might lose votes of people who are upset about Manning's lousy performance this year, doubt anyone will make that connection.

I certainly hope someone asks Timmy and Frank/the other two placeholders about it at the upcoming debates at the Elk's Club, be curious to see if they downplay or own it. Dumb letter, makes the ticket silly but not a campaign changer. Tim was the loser before this came out and he's still going to be the loser.

    3. You're correct Anon at 11:51 - A thinking voter will not blame Zimmer for Manning's recent losses any more than they will credit Occhipinti or Ramos with the successful opening of parks, saving of our hospital, leadership in one of the worst storms to ever hit our city and the application of good governance through the manufactured crises and obstacles they and their kind continue to create at the expense of all Hoboken citizens

  11. The letter is a double edged sword - it's old news now and Zimmer will win on her record, not Manning's. Some might take their disappointment with Manning's performance out on Zimmer. "Let it be' It's Zimmer's to lose. Go on with a positive campaign.
