Traitor Tim Switches Camps

It's here... Tim Occhipinti's April 15 ELEC report for his 2015 municipal campaign.

Remember his last one?

OINK OINK... Timmy spent 81% of his 2015 campaign fund on various 2013 charitable engagements (luncheons, dinners, dances), political friends and "staff salaries".  GA's fave was how he reimbursed himself for 'Hurricane Sandy Supplies' paid from his 'Personal Account.' ($362.25).  You couldn't cough up for hurricane victims, Tim?

Well, it looks like GA's expose on how Timmy's used his campaign cash like a slush fund either shamed him into more modest spending or has driven him underground.  Because according to his latest ELEC, Tim's not quite the oinker he was back in January;  no one's collecting a "salary," no W Hotel gala tickets, no mysterious Tour Bus rentals.

But... Timmy still hasn't learned to reach into his own pocket for political donations; nope, not when he can reach into yours.

Last time it was Albio Sires ($250) and Brian Stack ($175).  This time:

Yup! Jersey City Mayor Healy!  Not Fulop, the guy who went to his fundraisers and helped him get... um, 'elected'.

Like his patroness, Beth Mason, Tim has back-stabbed the people who worked for him in his 2010 campaign.  GA is told that Timmy (actually) believes he won on his own merit, not because a constellation of machine politicos lined up for him.  Which is why he thinks nothing of tossing the Fulop people in the trash; what does he need them for?  He's got Beth Mason's money- he's invincible.

Well, that's not what I hear.

  1. "But seriously folks," this is hilarity at its most hilaritarious. Fulop not-too-quietly supported Dim Tim as a personal favor when they were work buddies at Alliance Bernstein. He didn't think too much of the kid's political acumen and figured he was sticking his neck out for a dunce, but enough stars lined up to make it politically worth his while to bite the bullet and help the kid out. At the time, Maurice, Novak, Russo and Carmelo were all steering plenty of peeps over to Fulop's fundraisers and bringing in some big dollars. Then there was the personal relationship with Timmy, which Timmy viewed as them being peers and colleagues but Fulop always saw as a yappy little pup he at to throw a bone to get to shut the hell up already and get out of his face. Plus Fulop wasn't a big Zimmer fan and his handlers had an old beef with Lenz and wanted to prove a point. So Steve came through for the kid despite misgivings that he was a complete and utter moron. That's 100% for real, you can bet on it.

So Dim Tim turns around and sticks it to the guy with the real political chops who helped get him where he is. Swimming with sharks, I tell ya. Well, shark is too strong a word. Sharks have sharp teeth. Ain't nothing sharp about Timmy.

    1. Good one, Hipster. I never understood why a low-wattage bulb like Tim was anointed by a politically astute crew, other than perhaps they thought he'd be easy to control, like a sock-puppet.

      Got any insight?

    2. Easy to control is about the size of it. Does it look like there's anything more that this goofball brings to the table? Maurice wanted a shot at a Cammarano do-over so he could pluck a nice, fresh-faced kid with the political bug and sell him to the Old Guard while peeling away a few yuppies who might not know better. When the 4th Ward special election came up, Maurice had been grooming Timmy to take the shot, but Jamie Cryan wanted it too. Lots of Old Guard folks thought Cryan would have the edge since he at least has a morsel of a clue, but he's also a hustlin' shademeister with skeletons, so too risky. Timmy was an empty husk, which is exactly what they needed. Timmy and Jamie had a latenight sitdown and Jamie blinked (he's kind of a wuss, really, takes his marching orders almost as well as Dimmy Timmy. Thinks he's large and in charge as Dem chair, but all he's really in charge of is jack and shit, and jack left town a long time ago).

So that's the bottom line with Timmy Schmucko-PeePee. Empty husk, blank slate, takes orders like a good little pup. I mean think about it - Bethy told this munch to throw Fulop under the bus so she could buy her way in with the HCDO. Why would Timmy do that, after all Steve did for him? Because he follows the rules and doesn't ask questions, that's why. Like a good little boy. That's his value, in its entirety.

    4. I second Anon. Hipster, you really bring it.

    5. Thanks folks. Just calling it like I see it. Timmy is an automaton who thinks he shits gold bricks and that public service is all about serving his paymasters, no bones about it. If he could sell advertising space on that big old shine on the back of his head, you can bet the petulant-carping portion of each council meeting would be brought to you by Mr. Clean (Makes getting clean almost as much fun as getting dirty, and Tim sure is dirty!)

    6. Hipster, you're precious.

I have put a bar code on Tim-Wit's forehead and turned his cranium into a Magic 8 Ball, but using that expanse of skull for advertising space- not yet.

Maybe I can sell ads, do the ads myself and give the proceeds to a worthy cause. (Would anyone mind if I got paid a commission?)

  2. You put Healy's cock into Timmy's head. That's not fair. It's a travesty and a Cryan shame.

  3. Ramos announced he is running for mayor on 2/20. Still no mention in Hoboken411. Notice the steady drumbeat of anti-Zimmer posts of no real import. The one about Soares yelling at the priest which the priest disgracefully turned into an anti-Zimmer letter to his parish to which he tried to make Jesus a co-signer. And the one that has that curiousgal aimless litany ring to it. Pumps, southwest6, I sit home alone all day complaining - Dawn's legacy.

Deny the existence of one candidate. Aim broadsides at that other. Spend $10k buying affection for a 2015 council race in 2013.

Pretend you don't know what happens next.

Interesting tweet from crypto-candidate advocating bonding for pumps. He has opposed bonding for every sane purpose. Is this because he is afraid Zimmer will succeed in getting free money from the feds (which Occhipinti opposes even more violently than bonding because there is no hit to taxpayers)?

Scumbag. My prediction is they are waiting to do their Sean Murray - take some event and say, I wasn't going to run, but I can no longer stand idly by and watch Zimmer do this....

And since by that time Hoboken411 will still not have mentioned the Ramos campaign, there will be a perfect place to make the announcement.

  4. Speaking of unreported news, eg, the Ramos mayoral campaign, what's the over/under on how long it will take 411*, Patch the Reporter and JJ to mention Beth's $46k?

    * never

  5. Word on the street, Ramos is a 15 to 1 underdog. Fulop by a length.

    1. Ramos will make it close if Occhipinti doesn't run. He would have to be bought off not to run if Occhiptinti does run, but that is eminently doable for the Manchurian candidate's other mother. Just ask Jerry Healy.

It's still the "even if I'm indicted" + the bought votes vs the votes of an inconsistently engaged majority, too many of whom didn't look past Peter Cammarano's demographic profile.

Anti-reform shows up every time, whether from perpetual anger at the way the city has changed, professional issues with reform, or because they got paid. I expect reform to win, but only by a few points.

    2. There is a difference between the so called 'Old Guard', the long-timers and B&R. Ramos' ticket leaves a little to be desired, he has no organization to speak of, and this election may not be that close.

  6. i'm not an insider so this might be a dumb question but...what's the current status of ruben's relationship with stack? at first i thought it was good (when he was on the ticket), then it was bad (when he got dumped off the ticket), then good again when he managed to get his buddy carmelo on the ticket. is ruben on the ins or outs with stack, and would stack send his troops into hoboken to support ruben's mayoral run?

    1. I'm not an insider either but it seems obvious Stack wouldn't have Garcia on his ticket if he wasn't supporting Ruben. The trouble for him is he doesn't have what to support Ruben with. If he had any clout here Zimmer would never have been a councilwoman much less a mayor. Stack still owes close to $1 million of campaign debt from 2007, at least some of which resulted from his foray into Hoboken supporting Chris Campos against Zimmer in 2007. As for his "troops" they would drive votes to Zimmer so I imagine she'd welcome them. If I were her I'd offer to pay for the bus. It must be frustrating for the great Union City boss to be completely impotent here in Hoboken but both he and Zimmer know that's the case. So the answer to "is Stack supporting Ruben is basically "who cares."

    2. Raia is a factor - he helped Zimmer get elected by putting a spoiler in the race - Freddie Boy. Campos would have won outright without a runoff. Then he supported Zimmer in the runoff. Even without the run-off provision in November, Raia is a factor... a negative one for Ramos, according to the word on the street.

    3. What I heard was that Ruben had strong ties with 2 of Stack's staffers, also Ruben's campaign attorney is law partners with Jersey City Deputy Mayor (and 33rd District Assembly candidate) Raj Mukherji... coincidentally the same guy who is repping Falco in his civil suit against Zimmer. So, Ruben's got ties to Stack and Healy and surely helped Carmelo get his dance card punched.

    4. I believe that Ch.Falco is represented by Jason Orlando's law firm [Peter C's corp. counsel choice]. Stack's spokesman used to be Ruben's. Remember, Raia was also courting Stack's favor for the Assembly carrot.
      Good old Hudson County politics!

  7. geez, who's on first? i need to create an org chart that spells out all the connections in order to keep it all straight.

btw, i learn more from one day of reading this site (and msv) than a year (or five) of reading the JJ, patch and reporter. long live citizen journalism! :)
