Word on the Street

What ongoing FBI investigation?

Same old, same old in Hoboken- different day, same massive vote-buying spree. Only prices have gone up.

Inflation or desperation?  You decide:
Word on the street is that "we were told to vote no on every question". Keeps it simple. Makes it easy. They get this for free.

Heard voting the MF ticket is getting $100, up from the usual $40/downtown and $75/uptown.

Maybe they should think it over. Vote yes on moving the elections. Raise the price for a single election and save some time and a few trees.
Vote 'NO' on every ballot question AND get $100 for the Raia-Castellano-Mason ticket,  Move Forward.  ka-ching.

GA can't wait to see Move Forward's 48-hour ELECs.  That's when the big money rolls in.
See for yourself- look what rolled in for Timmy ON Election Day, May 10, 2011:

Want to see more goodies from Timmy's 2011 cash grab-bag?  Click on the link: http://www.elec.state.nj.us/ELECReport/DetailFilingReport.aspx?ID=310465&Page=1&LastName=occhipinti

Then click on the 6/2/2011 R-1 report- it's 120 frigging pages!

Check out the serious moola that rolled in in the campaign's final days.  Find it in the front section,  'Monetary Contributions in Excess of $300 and all Currency Contributions' (NJ Transit Guy is on page 2.)  The bulk of the report are Timmy's $35  'PAID WORKERS'; their addresses are mainly on Harrison, Jackson Streets and Marshall Drive... hmmm.

So, more of the same on deck for November 6, only the alliance of wealth and power behind Move Forward is unprecedented in recent Hoboken history. Does the difference between the two tickets, Move Forward and Kids First, get any clearer than this-  look at pics from the Move Forward and Kids First Kick-Offs:

Look at WHO attended the Move Forward kick-off (top) and WHO attended the Kids First Kick-off (bottom).  Now answer:
  • Which BoE slate is backed by parents in our community, is parent-powered and is all about our KIDS?
  • Which BoE slate is backed by politicos, political operatives, is hack-powered and is all about POWER  and POLITICS?

EXACTLY.

While the Dark Side can't seem to coalesce behind one candidate-  finding someone to take on the popular Mayor- all seem to agree that 'taking back' the School Board is the path to weakening Reform AND wetting their beaks with our $60M education budget.  (you can bet that $90K AC repair phone caller position will return). While the beat goes on over here, let's hope the Feds are taking notes (and shooting video, wiretapping, talking to informants...)

Let's go, Santa.

  1. Paying people to vote during a Presidential election? These people are playing w/ fire and I hope they get burned.

  2. There is ONE question where voting "NO" is appropriate and has nothing to do with elections or Raia. Vote "NO" on Hoboken Public Question #2 to protect our friends and neighbors. The question is between the two election questions which are question #1 and #3.

  3. Let me just pause the discussion for a moment for a subject that should bring both sides together, however briefly. I'm of course talking about an imminent birth announcement - that heifer that Mike Holmes is carrying. Can't be more than another day or 2 tops.

And as if on queue, here comes and unlimited supply of green breast milk. (Behind the not exactly passable drag queen; go to the parade in the Village, fella; they'll help you spruce up your look.)

  4. I see where that clown on MSV (who wishes us to know is NOT Joe Branco) is once again forced to fight the bad fight for Move Forward.

He seems to know a lot of people. Says he knows Forde, knows Smarty, has had many glasses of red wine with Scott. Yet he is maintaining this strangely porous 'anonymity'. So be it.

Still, perhaps he knows Branco - since he knows so many people... He should have a talk with him about the people who are running this campaign and how they have run every campaign they have ever been associated with.

Buying votes is a felony. Soon or later karma will catch up. Don't be there when it does.
