Have you ever called the wrong person numerous times, texted them frantically and even left them a an urgent voice mail?
Neither have I.
But it happened to a friend of mine last night. Her phone rang and rang after 9 pm, then the texts and voice mail came in. She was already in bed (like many moms of young kids) so didn't retrieve them until today.
Surprise, surprise.
The text came from 201-895-**78...
Hi (redacted), its matt, I am with pupie he needs you to sign the election reportBwaaa haw haw.... that was Democratic Committeeman and Beth Mason employee Matt Calicchio!
And... the caller was none other than Move Forward Treasurer Pupie Raia! Urgently requesting that she sign the 29-Day ELEC to meet the filing deadline, which was yesterday.
Not a problem if you called the RIGHT person.
But, if you've just called a former campaign manager of Kids First mistaking them for a Move Forward candidate... well...
Something tells me the ELEC form never got signed... by the candidate, that is.
More hilarity from the gang that couldn't poop straight.
ReplyDeleteEven if Matt had reached the correct party, how would they have complied with the filing deadline after 9pm?
In all likelihood, the candidate's signature was forged. If that's the case, anyone know what the penalty is for fraud of this nature? It would be consistent with state law that the candidate is immediately disqualified.
