Earwitness News: The Power(s) Behind Move Forward

Hold onto your britches, folks...  this one's a doozy.

While the Kids First campaign consists of Hoboken moms, dads and concerned taxpayers, the  Move Forward campaign is backed by powerful political hacks and getting help from Trenton.

That's right.

According to a GA earwitness, Move Forward's campaign literature was written by Ruben Ramos' State Assembly aide and spokesman!

Can you believe our 33rd District State Assemblyman Ruben Ramos is pitching in for the Move Forward campaign?  If true, then we should find an in-kind contribution for his aide on Move Forward's ELECs.

Written by Ruben Ramos' aide?

Well, it has dawned on the vast political machinery propping up Move Forward that the alignment of Old Guard and monied interests in a local School Board election is unseemly.

And they are running from it.

The trouble began when Move Forward Campaign manager John Castellano was exposed as the Treasurer of Russo for Hoboken and left to explain how an $18K balance disappeared on his watch.   Next,  a non-partisan children's event, Kiddiepalooza, was hijacked by machine politicos: Ruben Ramos, Carmelo Garcia, Anthony Romano and infested with Move Forward campaign literature.  Now, more  examples of misappropriation of our kids' education money by the POWERS BEHIND MOVE FORWARD:

2005-2006 audit page 103- Frank Raia's BoE gave $60K to a marketing firm owned by friend (the late) Maurice Fitzgibbons

Like I said folks, Move Forward is RUNNING from the truth: they are fronting powerful interests who misappropriated our KIDS' MONEY when they were in charge of the School Board prior to the Kids First takeover in 2009- see above.   School Board President Frank Raia and VP Carmelo Garcia hired a marketing firm, Fitzmedia, for $60K- owned by political player, the late Maurice Fitzgibbons.   Here's what the audit said about the Fitzmedia line item:
The expenditure does not provide educational value and appears excessive.  In addition, the BoE was unable to provide additional documentation to support the expense.  Invoices were not provided for the months of Aug. and Sept. 2005. $15,000 was paid for services rendered prior to awarding the contract to the vendor.  No evidence of approvals for Oct-Dec 2005 and Jan-Mar 2006 invoices.

You get it, now?

Our  kids' education money- your tax money, was their grab bag.

Now you understand why machine hacks are licking their chops to get control of our School Board?  Do you think the anyone in Trenton writing campaign literature for Move Forward give a rat's patoot about Hoboken schools?

The moms and dads working hard on the Kids First campaign DO.  Kids First is parents-powered, NOT Machine-powered.

And under Kids First management the district does NOT hire marketing firms.

So how does GA know Move Forward is running away from their powerful Machine backers?

Because Move Forward SCRUBBED this Jamie Cryan post from their Facebook page.

Yup, it's gone.

Check out WHO showed up for the Move Forward kick off!  Holy cow.

I can see WHY they scrubbed it off their Facebook page.

  1. It's sadly ironic that three people who are seeking school board positions don't possess the writing skills between them to compose the text for a little mailer.

If you're going to try to affect our kids' education, you need to do better than that.

Perhaps like Russo and Mason, they're saving their best writing for their ELEC reports where we'll have a chance to see the best fiction they can come up with.

  2. Change we can laugh at hysterically.

And isn't that ghost-writer Habib in the middle? What happened to that ghost-writer they used to use all the time? That non-operative fella? By that logic, is Habib now technically a non-operative too? Wouldn't want to get in trouble with these folks now that defame and dislike have become interchangeable words.
