Doyle's Un-Welcome Mat

That was quite a warm welcome our newly-sworn in  City Councilman Jim Doyle got last night!  From Council majority members, that is.

As for the others,  Jim you'd better check your seat  for thumbtacks, glue or a whoopee cushion next time.

Petulance from Russo, Occhipinti, and Castellano  reached new heights as they called the 4-2-1 vote "illegal"  and threatened litigation against the City, bloviating that "courts" should decide who fills Marsh's vacancy.

Timmy, who's tendency to gulp whole syllables makes him sound like he's stuck between channels, blurted:
"I'd like to also reiterate what  Councilman Russo said.  The mayor just cast an illegal vote she is only allowed to vote in a tie a matter of a 4-4 tie, we did not have it this evening therefore that and an illegal vote to an illegal appointment and probably this appointment needs to be decided by the courts. I want to go on record that seating for this vacancy for this term is deemed illegal."
Don't feel badly, Jim.

Timmy would be nicer to you if you'd won an election with 575 paid workers, taken $13,400  of Mason street money  and had 5 affidavits citing voter fraud handed up to the NJ Attorney General's office.

Though one would always prefer civil adult discourse to  excrement-throwing monkeys, GA doubts you care about the childish antics of that crew, as a man of intellect, gravitas and principle. You'll plow through their piles of crap, and with the other adults serious about governing, you will accomplish great things for Hoboken.

Thank you for stepping up, fella.

Now for a story of the way things WERE before the corrosive effects of Mason money poisoned our political waters...

Vincent Addeo, 43, was voted in as interim 3rd Ward councilman at a special City Council meeting held a 5 p.m. Wednesday.

The 3rd Ward post became vacant when recently-elected councilman and former mayor Anthony Russo resigned because of the reoccurrence of his cancer. Russo said the cancer is now in his left adrenal gland. He said he began his first new round of chemotherapy more than four weeks ago

When Ramos opened that floor to nominations, Addeo was nominated by Councilman Michael Cricco. Additionally, Michael Russo, the son of the former mayor, was nominated by Councilwoman Theresa Castellano.

The final vote fell on Roberts/anti-Roberts lines, with Ramos and council members Richard Del Boccio, A. Nino Giacchi, and Christopher Campos voting for Addeo, and administration critics Castellano, Tony Soares, and Carol Marsh voting for Michael Russo.

Michael Russo, 28, is Anthony Russo's middle son and has not been visibly involved in town politics. It is rumored he may seek the seat in the November special election for it.

Marsh said Thursday that while she has not always agreed with the Russos in the past, it is important to have a balanced council with multiple voices. That is why, she said, she voted for Michael Russo to fill his father's seat.

"I voted for balance," said Marsh Thursday. "I believe that having a strong opposition voice on the council is a good thing."
That was then.

  1. Are you saying that legally, fiscally and mathematically incompetents are now hypocrites too? If so, I agree.
