Sullivan's Hatchet Job on Brice

Sadly, you're wrong, GA. Objective reporting means telling all sides if possible. That's not what blogs do, often ignoring facts inconsistent their their preconceptions.
 Pot, meet kettle.

Nearly one month ago, Al Sullivan preached that on this blog, lecturing yours truly on 'objective reporting' with the caveat that objective reporters tell all sides "if possible".

If possible.

Suggesting that when one reports ONE side, obtaining facts from the OTHER side was NOT 'possible'.

So, we are to  believe that this week's column in which Sullivan got the 'facts' concerning Roman Brice WRONG that is was 'not possible' for Sullivan to tell Brice's side, or even to verify the accuracy of the 'facts' he was hearing from OTHERS.

Well,GA can tell you right now that Roman Brice was NOT contacted by Sullivan before this went to print.

Sullivan NEVER contacted Brice to for comment about WHAT was being written, and to verify the ACCURACY of any of it.

Can you believe it?

Now BRICE can only 'CORRECT' this misinformation AFTER it's gone to print, because he was NOT CONTACTED BY THE REPORTER WRITING ABOUT HIM.

This is 'objective' reporting?

Really.

So, only "blogs ignore facts inconsistent with their preconceptions".

How about Hoboken Reporter journalists?

The facts were a phone call or email away- to Brice.  So why didn't Sullivan TRY?

Perhaps because he gets his information from people like James Barracato and Tom Bertolli- professional political operatives with an agenda, both of whom have worked for Beth Mason in the past and may be in the present.

Beth Mason who threatened Brice he was on the 'verge of a civil action' WEEKS before it was filed.

HOW DID MASON KNOW ABOUT THIS?

Have you asked her that, Al?  You haven't?

Why not?

In the meantime, Brice has email and a phone.

Be advised, next time The Hoboken Reporter plans to write anything with respect to ME and this legal matter, including the INCORRECT 'fact' you wrote in your column this week, you will call my attorney for your 'facts'.

In the meantime, looks to me like The Hoboken Reporter is in the business of manufacturing news not reporting it.

Objectively.

  1. Not as good as the Corzine poster I had for my cat's litterbox, but appropriate.

  2. A lack of fact-checking and mis-quotes in even the most benign stories seems to be the Hoboken Distorters M.O.

And to think trees are killed for that rag.
