GA has confirmed in conversations with City Council members that Carol Marsh and Peter Cunningham were tipped off only minutes before the meeting by 4th Ward Councilman Timmy Occhipinti.
Yep, instead of waiting until after the meeting started to hand out copies of the 'emergency resolution' to have a ballot referendum for moving school Board elections to November, Timmy was just so pleased with himself, he had to distribute it before the meeting- giving Marsh and Cunningham the opportunity to leave before a quorum could be declared.
If only Tim had waited until the meeting was called, the departure of Marsh and Cunningham would NOT have broken the quorum and the 'emergency resolution' would have passed.
But here's what happened: Timmy passed out his little bomb- he and Theresa Castellano were its sponsors- and according to the two reform members, it was time to go.
Here's what Cunningham told GA,"The School Board elections are not a city council matter, they are a School Board matter. And if the Council minority members wish to meddle in school board business, then then don't sit on the City Council. They should run for the School Board."
Amen, Peter.
And THAT'S how it went down.
So we should all thank Timmy for being the colossal dimwit he is. because WHO KNOWS what other damage Russo, Mason, Castellano and Occhipinti would have wreaked last Wednesday night.
But because of Timmy's 'early warning system', we'll never know.

More black comedy, MORT-style!
ReplyDeleteI can only imagine MRT ripped at least 3 new ones for the O in the last 24 hrs. (And that means more opportunity for further leakage from the residence of his already very limited gray matter.)
Heard this story recently. Man walks into a Hoboken storefront, approached the counter.
ReplyDeleteMan: "I'd like turkey and mutz".
Counterperson:"You must be that Occhipinti, councilperson from the 4th ward"
Man (very agitated):"How did you...what kind of prejudicial remark is that? If I ordered Chinese food, would you think I was Chinese?"
Counterperson: "No".
Man: "If I ordered back ribs with black eyed peas, would you think I was from the South?"
Counterperson: "No"
Man:"So then why does my ordering a turkey and mutz makes you so sure I am Tim Occhipinti?"
Counterperson;"Because this is a hardware store".

Sorry, everyone, I couldn't resist.
We don't want them on our school board since they are equal parts of stupidity and corruption. They clearly are the worst that money can buy!
ReplyDeleteThis man is the gift that keeps on giving. Whenever he does something stupid and you think he has found his intellectual rock bottom, he never ceases to disappoint and he follows up w/ something even dumber. I wish the other 3 members of the minority were this stupid.
ReplyDeleteAlmost word for word what I was thinking.
DeleteTimmay deserves a new adjective to describe him. That adjective would be DUMBEREST. Now I created this word to describe how a person can not only be the dumbest person but also a person who's each successive act can be even dumber than the preceding one. Dumber + dumbest = dumberest.
DeleteI'd call Tim the City Council DUMB-inatrix.
DeleteRedrider765, How about fractal dumbness. He is not just dumb. He is dumb at every conceivable level of resolution. Zooming in on any part of his worldview finds beliefs exactly as dumb as his entire worldview.
DeleteHaw haw!
DeleteWould love to have gone to the after-party.
ReplyDeleteBeth: So, Tim... Timmy... When I said "this will be a surprise resolution that we will announce only after the roll is taken..." Where exactly did I seem to be saying, "So go ahead and tell everyone beforehand...?"
Funny thing is they must've had the same conversation many times by now. And each time Beth ends up looking at that baffled-by-sound RCA dog face and says, "Never mind."
If only Berh may come out of the semi-comatose state!
ReplyDeletericky mason doesn't seem to mind that he's underwriting the gang who couldn't shoot straight, what a foolish waste of money.
ReplyDeleteIt keeps her busy and keeps her from bothering him. That is my working theory.
DeleteMy theory is that Ricky Mason is a willing participant in all these crookeries. I wouldn't underestimate him based on the fact that Beth is an evil stupid comatose hungry for power psychopath. She's just too stupid in throwing his money left and right and loosing it all. If he would have any moral integrity he would not give her his money to do only bad in the world. Therefore they are in bed together. Hoboken's Bonnie and Clyde.
