Pro-Mason Letter Writer on Mason Payroll

BUSTED!

What a nice 'Thank You' letter in this week's Hoboken Reporter!

Did you read it?

A woman writes to express her gratitude to "City Council members Mason, Castellano, Russo and Occhipinti" for "helping obtain more give backs" with respect to the HUMC under its new ownership.

In other words, the letter puts us on notice that WE should recognize the contribution of these 4.

GA would like to respond.

The "give backs" were announced on Friday, October 7, 2011 by Philip S. Schaengold, HolcCo's Chief Transitional Officer at a press conference held in the lobby of the HUMC.   These "give backs" were negotiated by the Hoboken Municipal Hospital Authority headed by Toni Tomarazzo with HoldCo prior to October 7th.

FYI: NONE of the 'Council Minority' attended this event which announced the bankruptcy judge had approved the sale of the HUMC.

The so-called "City Council Minority Agreement" where said "give-backs" were obtained  took place (according to Mason) on October 29th and October 30th- 3 weeks after they were announced to the public.

The only "give-back" actually given by HoldCo as a result of Mason's Oct 29th and 30th 'arm-twisting' was a give-back to the "Council Minority"- a seat on the Hospital Board. (In fact, the Hospital Advisory Board).

So, maybe the author of the letter should thank  Mason, Castellano, Russo and Occhipinti for giving back to themselves.

Speaking of the author... I am sure she is a very lovely woman.  Her name is Tanya Garcia, and she's Carmelo Garcia's sister-in-law.

She's also employed by Beth Mason at her 1200 Washington St. headquarters.

  • Did Ms. Garcia forget to mention in the above letter that she's on the Mason payroll?

Maybe it's there...  maybe I just missed it.  Did you?  I'm pretty sure that's something that should have been mentioned...

  • Was Ms. Garcia coerced to write this?  To 'thank' the person she depends on for financial support?
  • Or does she actually believe it?  GA supposes that's possible, but  more likely...

A case of Stockholm Syndrome.

Stockholm Syndrome is a term used to describe a real paradoxical psychological phenomenon wherein hostages express empathy and have positive feelings towards their captors, sometimes to the point of defending them. These feelings are generally considered irrational in light of the danger or risk endured by the victims, who essentially mistake a lack of abuse from their captors for an act of kindness. The FBI’s Hostage Barricade Database System shows that roughly 27% of victims show evidence of Stockholm Syndrome.

Yes, GA believes poor Ms. Garcia suffers from Stockholm Syndrome. How else could she believe the crap she wrote?

Unless... someone else at 1200 Washington wrote it for her?

Shame on Mason for taking advantage of her employee.

Philip Schaengold announces "give backs" at Oct. 7 press conference attended by those who tried to save the hospital: Mayor Zimmer, Toni Tomarazzo, the Hospital Authority and CC MAJORITY members.  ABSENT were Mason, Castellano, Russo and Occhipinti.  Those 4 later attempted to steal credit for others' hard  work.  Which includes coercing a 'thank-you' letter from an an employee

Comments

  1. What a sad and desparate attempt to legitimize what Mrs. Richard G. Mason attempted to do to save face when the hospital vote was going to swing in favor of sanity.

The Mason / Russo cabal doesn't even see that the only thing they gained was an unenforceable promise for a seat on the hospital advisory board, by what the thinking public knows was obtained through extortionary means, the currency they trade in.

To the paid sychophants, users and hangers-on: If Mr. & Mrs. Richard G. Mason didn't have wealth, would you even associate with them? They may have money as long as the ethics officer at Wachtel, Lipton, Rosen & Katz turns a blind eye, but they are morally and ethically bankrupt.

Unfortunately for them, there are no federal protections for those type of bankruptcies.

  2. A variation on the same theme as the "Faux-Janett." So MBB will spare readers the broken record on this thread.

Having once worked in M&A, MBB suggests an "ethics officer" at WLR&K is oxymoronic. Even if one is employed with that job title.

Corporatism & politics (so increasingly symbiotically entwined) tend to reward the morally and ethically bankrupt. Hoboken is just a particularly pernicious petri dish of what tends to float to the top. The Masons are just the current poster children.
