GA's closing in on the one-week anniversary since asking Al Sullivan to lay off the crack pipe.
Did he do it?
It depends on how high you are when you read his new column. GA passed on the blow this morning but am now having second thoughts about that decision.
Because try as he DID to give equivalency to the theories floated from diametrically opposed camps--theories on the F.B.I. investigation-- he stuck his foot on one side of the scale before we could throw him a biscuit.
Bad Al!
Here's what I mean:
Al my dear, you've made it oh-so-clear where you stand and with whom.
If you'd ever like to visit The Light, I have a great idea for another video project.
But will anything ever top this classic Sully-GA collaberation?

Here's what I mean:
For those of you wondering what the heck is going on with the FBI and the e-mails in Hoboken, there are several theories going around.
You've got that right, Al! But there's not much daylight between them- on the Reform side.
The version being put out by people close to the Zimmer administration is that someone in the information technology office was leaking information to Zimmer’s political enemies. While some of this may indeed have been public information, the correct process for obtaining that information is through the city open public records system. So, according to that version, Zimmer called in the feds, who seemed to have found enough of something to continue to sniff around.
Al, in order to make the OPRA request for a specific document- email in this case- Zimmer's 'enemies' would have to provide identifying information for the particular electronic transmission they were OPRA-ing Such as time, date and person to whom the email had been sent. That is procedure and you can check the online OPRA request form.
Do you get the Catch-22?
Zimmer's enemies could not OPRA the emails without admitting they KNEW which emails they wanted to get (out of tens of thousands) which means they'd obtained LEAKED copies. You get it?
The ONLY way they could 'get' the emails (a.k.a. 'launder' them) was by forcing City Hall to release them by resolution. OPRA was never an option.
The ongoing coordination of leaked documents and information posted on Hoboken411with Beth Mason's talking points AND Mason operative Lane Bajardi's speeches at the City Council would lead those with even the thickest of craniums to the same conclusion. That Mason/Bajardi/Hoboken411 were part of the Data Theft Ring (DTR) working with a cooperative IT Department.
This is something akin to killing flies with demolition ball – more than a little overkill.
Read the above. The only way to stop leaking was to bring in the appropriate law enforcement authorities. In this case, the F.B.I.. Al, you don't seem to recognize the seriousness of the alleged crime. Can't you do that much?
The opposition’s version is that people in the Zimmer administration have been playing fast and loose with public resources, using official e-mails and other communications to target political enemies. When the City Council – controlled by Zimmer’s opposition until July 1 when the balance shifts back to Zimmer supporters – considered a resolution requesting copies of these communications, Zimmer (according to the opposition’s rumors) called in the feds, thus making the information unavailable. This, according to Zimmer opponents, is a stalling tactic that will keep the request on the back burner until Zimmer loyalists retake the City Council on July 1 and vote to void the request.
Spin- spinny- spin. Look, Mason's sitting on a handful of emails she thinks will hurt the mayor and embarrass some bloggers. Certainly not mine. I'm proud of those casserole recipes I exchanged with Juan Melli. Do you know that Juan is an expert at souffles?
There are several other more insidious theories, hatched out of the devious minds of the truly politically paranoid. But we won’t go into them here.
Now my dear friend, you are tip-toeing around that elephant in the room. Or should I call it a horse? And a gal who blogs about politics?
Are our theories any more 'insidious' than yours? Last week, you:
provided a litany of spin from the Dark Side with no countervailing opinion-- isn't that insidious?
chastised the Zimmer administration for "not mentioning other people connected with her administration who might also have met with federal informant Solomon Dwek" thereby SMEARING everyone in the Zimmer administration because the ONLY one who met with Dwek, former Public Safety Angel Alicea resigned AFTER telling Zimmer for the first time of his meeting 2 years earlier. Jake Stuiver, former Mason campaign staffer, is on record saying he accompanied Beth Mason to the meeting SHE ACCEPTED with Dwek. SO Al, wasn't that insidious of you?
erroneously stated that a city attorney was used to remove candidates from the Democratic committee primary fight (it was the HCDO that sued the City) thus scolding the Zimmer administration for not knowing "the line between political and governmental function". First, you repeated verbatim the spin someone gave you without vetting it- insidious. Then you don't issue a correction on the malignment of the mayor- double insidious.
Al my dear, you've made it oh-so-clear where you stand and with whom.
If you'd ever like to visit The Light, I have a great idea for another video project.
