The Russo-Mason operative tasked with attacking Greg Lincoln's religion on nj.com:
What does this mean?
First, that all their opposition research has turned up on Mike Russo's 3rd ward opponent are his nj.com posts under the screen name lincolnlogger. They don't have an FBI surveillance tape of Greg Lincoln accepting a 5K bribe from a sleazy developer or boasting about playing politics with the HHA-- which violates HUD regulatory guidelines.
No such luck.
They're stuck with picking at the guy's drive-by snark before he was a City Council candidate.
You mean... Lincoln has a sense of humor? He... he... made a JOKE online? But... but... it wasn't FUNNY. Boo-freakin- hoo.
Since they've got NOTHING on Lincoln except recycling old nj.com posts they're stuck using them for message delivery of another kind: he's a Mormon.
GA said all that yesterday.
But what occurred to me on seeing today's hate-post is the political calculation Russo is making here: bashing Greg Lincoln's Mormonism will HELP him more in the 3rd ward than it will hurt. The strategy's a sly wink... he's not one of us, he's one of THEM.
Wow.
What does that say about what Russo thinks of his constituents? Appealing to their worst instincts, believing in their worst instincts. One can imagine what's going to be slipped under Church Towers apartment doors in the dead of night.
In this season of scorched earth, the Mormon-bashing will continue.
Anything goes.
