What We Learned

For those who don't like to wade through long posts, here is a summary of what GA's learned since Friday:
  • In a letter dated March 2nd, Executive Director, Renee Steinhagen of NJ Appleseed Public Interest Law Center asked Mayor Zimmer and Beth Mason to hold a  public hearing on the municipal hospital sale.  Appleseed cited their request was made on the behalf of the "Coalition for Quality Healthcare". Further, Steinhagen cited "rumors in the community" as impetus for the public hearing request.
  • Renee Steinhagen represented POG in their 2005 pay-for-play lawsuit against Mayor  Dave Roberts and City Councilman Ruben Ramos.  Beth Mason was active in POG's leadership at that time.  Multiple sources have told GA the two are friends.
  • "The Coalition of Quality Healthcare" (QCH)  is principally a political coalition of Zimmer opponents Co-Chaired by Cammarano-supporter Kim Glatt who ran for mayor against Dawn Zimmer in 2009.  Refer to CQH 'web site'- domain registration by proxy, no members list, no 501c3 designation for contributors, no events listed, no 'how to join'.   The CQH appears to be a front for the Mayor's opponents who are interested in blowing up the hospital sale, pulling in credible individuals like Steinhagen, not in advocating for better health services for Hoboken.
  • In a letter dated March 4, Mayor Zimmer responds to Steinhagen that the legal authority to address such a request and to hold a public hearing on the hospital sale is the Hoboken Hospital Authority, not the Mayor or the City Council.
GA's conclusion: Beth Mason hoodwinked her friend, Renee Steinhagen with the CQH,  planted  'rumors in the community' in her ear to involve Appleseed in a political hit on the mayor-- another NJDC-style political operation.  That is, use a connected friend to drag a legitimate organization into one of her political schemes.

The skinny is that anti-Zimmer  'strategy' sessions take place in Mike Novak's Marinview Plaza office on Saturday mornings and Lane Bajardi represents Mason there.  Possibly where this stinker was brewed.  Well, the word's getting out about Operation Appleseed.

Friends of Mason beware.

Appleseed does wonderful work.  Read how they overturned the 2006 results of an election stolen by absentee ballot fraud in Roselle, NJ.

Maybe they can come to Hoboken, NOT for a hosptital sale, but to protect and defend democracy here in our May 10th election.  Buying elections via absentee ballot fraud in Hoboken is an open secret- read the Blue Jersey expose about our Nov. 2, 4th Ward City Council election. Criminal complaints for 4th Ward absentee ballot hijinks now sit  on the desk of NJ Attorney General Paula Dow awaiting investigation.

And who bragged to the media about wheeling cash into the campaign coffers of the 4th Ward victor?  Take a look.

How about it, Appleseed?

Come to Hoboken for our May 10 election.  Please.

  1. Coalition for Quality Healthcare also figures into this weeks Between The Lines column. It almost appears a line is missing but figure it means something to someone in the know.
