She's not gone yet, but I miss her already.
Last night the Hoboken City Council voted unanimously 9-0, on a resolution requesting that the New Jersey Local Finance Board release the city from state fiscal monitoring.
Say it ain't so!
The Department of Community Affairs will meet on May 12 to determine whether our dear Fiscal Monitor, Judy Tripodi, is still needed in Hoboken (she is!). But it's just a formality; the state will follow the Council's vote (oh no!).
Must we grow up and learn to make our own fiscal decisions? Are we ready for that? Does that mean we have no one to blame but ourselves after she's gone?
Judy Tripodi, sweetness and light, you shall be missed. By a handful of people. Maybe six or seven. Or five. Count me in.
This one's for you, Judy:
