Irene Sobolov!
Yes, OUR Irene was named "2009-2010 Citizen of the Year" by the Hoboken Elks Lodge #74 last night. Isn't that fantastic? Her many years of community service (did you know she co-founded the Hoboken Family Alliance?), her voluntary efforts to promote Hoboken High School and to keep the public informed about all of our public schools have NOT gone unnoticed.
Not by her friends, not by her community, not by the Elks.
We wish to congratulate Irene on this well-deserved acknowledgment of the blessing she has been to our entire community. Thank you, Irene.
Other awards given last night on Appreciation Night at the Elks include four Hoboken Elk scholarships to local high school students and Elk of the Year, Victor Alvarez.
