He had that silver tongue. He steadfastly refused to come out, but everyone knew he was gay. Why is this relevant? Because Maurice had so much dirt on everyone that NO ONE dared to out him or try to use his sexuality against him even in the 80s and 90s when such info could have destroyed his career.
