UPDATE- Source: DeFusco "has $250K pledged"

UPDATE: Developing...

Sources tell GA that DeFusco is announcing TODAY, and has $150K in a PAC!

Stay tuned...

___________

Not my source, InsiderNJ's Max Pizzaro's:
"[DeFusco] raised nearly 90K in the first quarter. Then he has another $250K pledged, according to a source, a tidbit that might elicit laughs. “Pledged.” But the source stood firm on the point. There are rumors of a super PAC and some warpaint-wearing labor people ready to unleash the scorn they have felt over Zimmer. But it’s all yet to coalesce. Maybe it’s because the would-be challenger hasn’t pulled a team together with ease. Every time he seems close to landing the right balance of bodies on a ticket someone zigzags on him."
That means a $250K jackpot awaits the "right balance of bodies" on First Ward Councilman's Mike DeFusco ticket. Which raises the question...

Who is making the determination on whether these bodies are balanced, imbalanced or just right?

Like the story goes...
Goldilocks tasted the porridge from the first bowl.
"This porridge is too hot!" she exclaimed.
So, she tasted the porridge from the second bowl.
"This porridge is too cold," she said
So, she tasted the last bowl of porridge.
"Ahhh, this porridge is just right," she said happily and she ate it all up.

After she'd eaten the three bears' breakfasts, she walked into the living room where she saw three chairs.  Goldilocks sat in the first chair.

"This chair is too big!" she exclaimed.
So she sat in the second chair.
"This chair is too big, too!"  she whined.
So she tried the last and smallest chair.
"Ahhh, this chair is just right," she sighed.  But just as she settled down into the chair to rest, it broke into pieces!
Well, one big difference: nobody owned Goldilocks!  She didn't have 'people' telling her what to eat and where to sit!  She didn't need handlers to tell her what was "just right"!

Goldilocks made her own choices.

And so... Pizarro's story  tells you everything you need to know about this ticket.  There is nothing organic going on here. The handlers are in charge.

You can criticize Karen Nason's ticket all you want (oh, I will), but she's in charge-not a crew of shadowy handlers, North Bergen  bosses and an alleged SuperPAC.

Yikes!

  1. Sounds like major renovations coming to stately Wanky Manor!!!

  2. How much does Mayor Zimmer's campaign have "pledged" ?
Likely a whole bunch but she doesn't need to try to puff up the size her war chest in the press to make her campaign seem credible.

  3. Show me the money... and the slate, then I'll give a crap.

For now, just more "fake news" put out there to gauge reaction among the voters and donors.

  4. Is There a PAC bank account where these pledged dollars will be deposited?

  5. Mike D, bought and paid for before he even declares. Sad. Not surprising at this point, but sad nonetheless.

He might have had a decent political career in front of him, but now he'll forever be known as the sellout pawn of the worse elements of HudCo political machine hacks.

  6. Word is, one of the Barry brothers is quarterbacking the PAC.

  7. Mike has his picks. None of the names rumored are remotely close. When he is ready he will announce his intentions and move forward. He ignores and laughs at this and all other blogs. He could care less. The tactics of trying to get him to not run are failing miserably, in fact the more you trash him the stronger he gets. He has money and will get tons more and will cream Zimmer all the way bag to Bangor or wherever that pothead is from. As for Karen Nelson, she is of 0 concern, same for Bautista. Zimmer is going down, deal with it you misfits!

    1. You forgot to say "the final destruction of the alliance and the end of your insignificant rebellion."

      Over-the-top much, douche?

  8. So a Labor Union and developer backed PAC ready to tell Hobokenites that the Mayor doesn't move fast enough in approving developments? Hmm... does DeFusco have ANY idea who the audience is? And any self awareness of his complete lack of business and finance? The majority - not all - the voters in Hoboken want little or no development. And marketing does not translate to business acumen. The average voter sees no need for a change. The average voter will see MDF as the inexperienced kid that he is. Those voters who have been around a while will see him as the next camaranno. Especially if his followers include Romano / Ramos / Russo / Raia. The unknown DeFusco barely beat Terry. The known DeFusco doesn't have a chance vs Zimmer.

  10. You're being heard by nobody. No one cares, save your breath. MDF by 15% of the vote at a minimum. Good night misfits.

    1. I don't think MDF would even get 15% of the vote if he actually does run.

    2. Lol!! DeFusco will make Occhipinti's 17% look like a landslide.

    4. You guys are shadow boxing
      DeFusco hasn't announced
You have no proof of who he plans to support if he does
Where's the evidence he's with the unions
Bhalla is a big union supporter and they've attended his fundraisers before
      Nothing wrong with unions
      As for the Barry's
Definitely bad news, will all the mayors directors agree with that ?

    5. check his elecs (so far). trades, realtors, property managers and lots of out of towners who are magically very concerned with who will represent the first ward in a city far away. it will get worse. save your sermons.

  12. DeFusco doesn't have dollar one of the "pledged" 250K and the spreading of that rumor is proof that a bunch of amateurs are at work. FROM YOUR COMPUTER STUDENT.
