Next BOMBSHELL: HoLa "stakeholder" filed BoE ethics complaint!

TEAM: Campaign manager of HoLa- backed slate, "Parents United"  Peter Biancmano, HoLa Executive Director Jen Sargent, Freeholder Anthony Romano, "Parents United" Treasurer and HoLa Trustee Susan Costimiris

Just as GA suspected, the "ethics complaint" ["EC"] against 3 sitting Hoboken Board of Education members who donated their own funds to the District was filed by persons who do not use Hoboken district schools.

Sources confirm the EC filer is an unidentified HoLa "stakeholder."

Isn't that nice.

When can District "stakeholders" file ethics complaints against HoLa's dishonest propagandist, Anthony Petrosino for his years of defaming our District?

Well, it appears this EC-filing  HoLa stakeholder couldn't give two sh*ts about hobbling 3 honest, productive, decent, hard-working Board members with their frivolous ethics complaint.  Nor does the HoLa EC-filer care about the financial impact on District children; the legal defense fees will be tapped from District classrooms while his/her spawn will be unaffected.

Yes, it is frivolous.

Our Board attorney vetted the legality of the donations before the Board Members gave them.   One hopes the EC filer is sanctioned.  Yes, the NJDOE School Ethics Commission imposes sanctions for the filing of frivolous complaints:
Sanctions for Filing a Frivolous Complaint

The Commission may find, by majority vote, that a complaint was frivolous and may impose sanctions pursuant to N.J.S.A. 18A:12-29(e). A “frivolous complaint” means a complaint determined by the Commission to be either (1) commenced, used or continued in bad faith, solely for the purpose of harassment, delay or malicious injury; or (2) one which the complainant knew, or should have known, was without any reasonable basis in law or equity and could not be supported by a good faith argument for an extension, modification or reversal of existing law. The Commission may fine a complainant up to $500
At this time, there is no existing vehicle for District "stakeholders" to file ethics complaints against  HoLa Trustees.

If only.  HoLa's unelected Board has shown malice by its silent consent of  Trustee Anthony Petrosino's years of unrelenting attacks on the Hoboken District.   In 2016, HoLa Trustees unsuccessfully tried to 'take over' the BoE majority with a slate of candidates managed by co-conspirator BoE Trustee Peter Biancamano,  HoLa Trustee Susan Costimiris as Treasurer, and donor HoLa Trustee Frank Raia to make policy beneficial for HoLa- not the District.

And Hoboken District "stakeholders" can't file a complaint against their Board members, while they can falsely accuse our Board of "ethics" violations for doing their job and protecting our schools and our students.  We have an exemplary Board. Six of them, anyway.

¡El fondo del barril!  ¡la ruta baja!  ¡ Esto toma el pastel!

  1. I knew it was bullshit. It must be the crazy who puts her feet up on the chairs at boe meetings and never claps when kids get awards.

  2. GA - do you know how the HoLa board is chosen? I know the ECS Board is elected by elysian families and staff? Does HoLa have a similar system? r

    1. It doesn't say anything on their site. Quite the mystery. Couldn't find board minutes, either.

    2. You also won't find their budget on their site.

  3. If its frivilous the judge will not allow the complaint to go forward- is it possible that the complaint is not about the legality of the donation but something else?

  4. During the BoE election campaign, Hola board member George Duke told me he was a founder. I thought that was so cute.

  5. A few years ago during a BoE meeting, Jen Sargent showed up. Dr. Toback stepped out to go to the men's room moments before she approached the podium. She blathered on and on attacking him, but he wasn't there. It was funny because she left the impression she was a coward. He didn't know she was approaching the podium when he excused himself. Anyway, she looked like she got back from a pole dancing class wearing a super short see-through mini dress. I don't remember what her point was. I don't think anyone did.

  6. The people behind HoLa are complete scum. All of them are out to get "what's theirs". They are no different than the Russos.

    1. 7:51 Gaslighting a little, maybe?

    2. Are you denying that one founder wanted HoLa set up so she wouldn't have to pay for private school and the other wasn't angling for a six figure job? Because that is exactly what happened.

    3. @11:49, maybe you should learn what gaslighting actually means before trying to impress us with your au courant vernacular.

    4. What I do know is Hola could have been in the Hoboken Public Schools but was unamiously voted against by every Kids First Board member. Instead of a divisive lawsuit and community, there could be an award winning program and an extra 400 students enrolled in the Hoboken public schools today. That's what I know.

    5. At the end of the day, this has always been about money. You folks want it and want us to pay for it. Nobody wants to pay for your faux exclusionary private school whatever form it takes.

      Delete
    6. Its not a private school. Its an award winning public school that is tied for first in the state in test scores and accomplishes this at less than half the cost of the inefficently run and failing reform led traditional Hoboken public schools.

      Delete
    7. It's not a traditional public school... it is a publicly funded school that is not held to the same accountability standards as traditional public schools. Test scores = socioeconomic status. Hola enrolls 10% socioeconomically kids and like 1 or 2 special needs kids, if that. HPS enrolls a higher % of both. Touting test scores does not get you a pass on the "segregative effect" standard in expansion for charter schools. You are sounding like the dictator in chief who thinks he can pull one over on the Constitution... exactly what entitled people like to do.

      Delete
    8. You are being generous when you mention "not held to the same accountability standards". I'd argue no standards is a more accurate description. A school with standards would have banned the founders from any hope of being hired for a job. Petrosino and Raia would never be on the board. And nobody from the B&G club (their landlord) would have a job there either. And then we can go on about how they both abandon and ignore kids w/ special needs or the poor all so more affluent families can get what amounts to a free private school education at taxpayer expense. HoLa is one of the most disgusting examples of people trying to "get what's theirs" I have ever seen.

  8. Again, Hola is an award winning public school, tied for first in the state of NJ in state testing. It uses a state approved lottery weighted to favor under represented families. The school welcomes students in need of special accomodations. And, it does all this at less than half the cost per student as the traditional Hoboken Public Schools.

    1. Ah, good. We want to ensure that frivolous, mean-spirited, cynical ethics complaints are getting filed by the right sort of people.

    2. What's that got to do with filing a frivolous complaint to hurt your enemies and the district that has to bear the cost?

      Delete
    3. 5:35/6:22 Its up to a judge to decide if the complaint is frivolous - as for cost...if the complaints are found valid, they should not expect taxpayers to foot the bill, should they?

The judge saw right through the lying of Calicchio and Garcia. That's on the record. But why would an asshole like you start caring about the truth now?

Go make another fake graph and write another FB post about how sad Trump makes you, you sack of crap.

Here's some excerpts from the judge for the many non-assholes in the audience.

"There was no credible testimony by Tania Garcia and Matt Calicchio"

"Tania Garcia's uncle is on the Board of Education. She works for Beth Mason. She is a political player."

"Matt Calicchio is being used for politics in exchange for a job."

"He's nobody even if he may think he is but he's being used."

"This is having a chilling effect on democracy. why would anyone run for office (with this)? This is very disturbing and uncivilized. This is bullying."

"It's a political job (Tani Garcia's)- she can walk into her job anytime she wants, that's a political job."

  11. Hey 10:23, you "forgot" to mention how Brandt is mostly kindergarten, unlike the charters, none of which have kindergarten, and thus not relevant for comparison. Dumbass. The parents want the free daycare with the hope of winning the golden ticket to avoid having their snowflakes sit with "those kids".

    ReplyDelete
  12. Actually Brandt is mostly PreK 3 & 4 with a few Kindergarten and First grade classes. Point remains, though, that it's not comparable.
