Exclusive: The "Blogger" Emails

GA has come into possession of the package which apparently went out to the local media in October.

GA is referring to the "October Surprise" emails Carmelo Garcia leaked without court authority from (the latest iteration of) his ethnic-cleansing lawsuit.

The most 'noise' about the emails has come from The Hoboken Reporter.  What has concerned me  are the allegations the HR and it's editorial columnist Al Sullivan have made about "bloggers."  The Hoboken Reporter has characterized the emails as revelatory about the relationship between "bloggers"(GA, MSV) and City Hall.   GA is going to show you those "blogger" emails.   But first...

ALLEGATIONS

The Hoboken Reporter, Volume 33 Number 11, November 1, 2015

Sullivan's column, carefully tiptoes around the conclusion that Stan Grossbard advises bloggers on what to write ["propaganda"] in service of ["machine for"] City Hall.

No such caution is exercised in these posts on 'Real Democrats for Hoboken' Chairman John Keim's Facebook page:

THE LEAKED "BLOGGER" EMAIL

GA scoured the package twice.  There was no mention of MSV or its proprietor.   GA appeared on the following 2 emails.

 EMAIL #1- October 12, 2012

GA's RESPONSE

In 2012, GA requested a witness affidavit from Stuiver to support my Motion for Summary Judgment in the Bajardi SLAPP suit.  The Stuiver affidavit was notarized on October 18, 2012- 6 days after the above "blogger" email- and is third in my Affidavit package below.

 EMAIL #2- February 24, 2012

These things happened prior to this "Blogger" email:
On February24, 2015 GA received the following UNSOLICITED email titled "generators".

 GA RESPONSE

And???

I guess Grossbard read my 4 previous articles, then read The Hoboken Reporter's ridiculous white-wash.  This was a BIG story- custom "Sandy proof" generators built with FEMA grant money sitting uninstalled in an HHA parking lots for 1 1/2 years... and here is the crap the HR dished out,  the subject of Grossbard's rant to me:
The generators’ complicated installation process requires that the heating and electrical systems in an entire given building be shut off for up to several days. The risk that the current cold weather poses to residents is not worth taking right now, said Garcia, who added that for the time being, there is no rush to install the new generators. HUD also said that the weather will have to subside before they are installed.

The new generators were designed for outside use and specifically built to withstand Sandy-type forces of nature, HUD said, so they are confident that they will remain undamaged until spring. Garcia said that if not, they’re covered by a full warranty.

In fact, HUD said, the generators were delivered in fall on purpose. At the time, HUD, Garcia and the vendor were aware that inclement weather might be looming, but the manufacturer wanted to prove that its new model generator, more powerful than previous iterations, could withstand the elements.
What absolute horse shit.

Thank you Stan, for your February 24 email if I did not reply back to you in 2014.  I may not agree with your opinions, but you are smart, funny and you understand potential consequences of trying to "advise" me on my blog, and so have NEVER gone "there."  But The Hoboken Reporter is trying to criminalize communications between you and I and, apparently anyone who is not your WIFE.  So SCREW all of them, and WRITE to me  ANYTIME, but keep it under 500 words.

Hey, that could be a funny GA series: "Letters from Grossbard..."  How about it, Stan?

 CONCLUSION

Okay folks, you've read the "Blogger" emails.

Go back and read The Hoboken Reporter and you-know-who's Facebook allegations.

Did the emails "prove... steady correspondence" between the administration and bloggers, and that bloggers are "used to attack" administration enemies like "snipers hiding behind rocks?"

    2. Al wouldn't know a fact if it hit him in the ass. He makes shit up and takes dictation from the Old Guard and the likes of FinBoy for cripes sake.

Last week it was Romano, next week it'll be some other Old Guard hack.
Al will write it up like he got it from the burning bush. He'll actually think it's true.

He always believes and always gets jerked around. He looks like a fool and now the cards are tumbling in on the Hudson Reporter.

Is it any wonder their unofficial circulation continues to drop with less and less papers tossed around town? These guys are writing their own epitaph as complete losers but worse certifiable liars.

GA and MSV are the Davids just slaughtering this stuttering giants.

  3. Wow, this is revealing -- I always knew Al Sullivan was a hack, but I didn't suspect him to be a LIAR!

Is Al really this much of a bald-face LIAR???????!!!

This is worse than the worst supermarket-tabloid standard - they make up tongue-in-cheek stories for people's entertainment, but they don't try to damage and defame people with outright LIES!

Pants-on-Fire Sullivan it is from now on.

  5. Cant wait to see what "it's been cleared up, move on" post Caren, I mean "Lite" writes to get anyone to forget this huge FAIL. Too late, your bloomers are down around your cankles and your email, along with this Post by GA, truly rips any shred of journalistic integrity from the rag, and anyone associated with it. I predict that rats wills start leaving the ship, either forced out or voluntarily, not wanting to be the last one there before the lights go out. Imagine, they have done this all by themselves, to themselves. BTW, Caren "edits" Al, so she knew, going into the publication of that hit job, that is was full of crap. Start spinning Caren, I mean Lite.

  6. GA, thanks so much for not "moving on" from these emails and instead "dwelling on" them for this KILLER post! The Hoboken Reporter, Dave Under, Caren Matzner and Al Sullivan just got exposed for being the HUGE PHONIES that everyone suspected them to be all along. NAILED!!!

  7. The Reporter walks right up to the line on defamation, implying that MSV and GA are not the products of their owners' desire for good government but the coordinated propaganda arm of the Zimmer administration. The defamatory claim depends heavily on a combination of non-existent data and the expectation that the press can be trusted to have done its due diligence. While GA and MSV are not mentioned, it would be very hard to deny in court that they were the intended targets of the defamatory statements.

Obviously the Reporter itself has no shame and will neither issue a retraction nor an apology.

Is there a control legal/regulatory authority? Some body to whom they must answer for their conduct who has the authority to censure them or revoke their charter?

In the meantime here's what you can do personally.

    1) Call 201-798-7800.
    2) Ask for Circulation Manager, Roberto Lopez.
    3) Give him your name and address and tell him to cease delivery of the paper to your home.

    1. They still deliver this rag? I haven't seen it delivered on my street in 4 years.

As Publishers the buck stops with Lucha Malato and David Unger. They are responsible for this personally and professionally. They choose to let Caren Matzner turn Hoboken's local paper into a Fox news partisan publication.

I think the next time I pick up the Reporter it will be to take a look at their advertisers so that I can better choose where to do business.

    2. It's hard to imagine that 7 people canceling delivery of the paper is going to make much of a difference. We've got to come up with something better than that.

    3. 11:26, I've no doubt you're a part of someone's "we" but it is the case 100% of the time that when some douchebag visits this particular "we" and says there are only 7 readers, alas, we know in a moment their "we" is elsewhere.

So instead of pretending to be part of this "we" -and failing at it badly- why don't you update us on the thinking of your real "we".

Specifically, why the paranoid reaction? Why the need to actually go to the blogs and engage in damage control? Why has Al finally crossed the rainbow bridge from la little loopy but decent to full-on deceitful?

You can answer those in whatever order your "we" prefers.

PS, now that the council is 7-2, don't you think "the blogs have no influence" meme is looking a bit threadbare?

      Delete
    4. @Dang -I agree. Anon 11:26 is definitely part of the right "we". And so obvious about it. Why do you suppose that is? Stupidity, carelessness or ?

As for the 7-2 council. I agree, the blogs help a lot. But I also think that the hard work of Michael in the first ward was what really helped him (I think a lot of 1st warders are older and don't read the blog). We should also not discount how much Beth Mason helped Jen in the 5th. ;-p

  11. The affidavits should be considered the tip of an iceberg. I'm sure there are others, but I would love to see the transcripts from the depositions and pre-trial hearings. C'mon GA, winter's coming, the reading will be soooo good!

The old guard, and their psycho-pathological sidekicks, the Bajardis, Keims, Stojkovics, Russos and others, cannot fathom that there are those who want nothing more than honest, effective, open government and that reformists would organically rally around a mayor who would espouse those values, while at the same time, not issuing any free passes. Reform holds everyone accountable.

No, they believe that it's always quid-pro-quo, and that people were paid or coerced to post on blogs, write letters to the Reporter, etc. Why? Because that's how they roll. The sun has set on them, but not before burning them. They should gather whatever shreds of dignity they have left and leave before they do more damage to their offspring. Sick, sad, fucks.

  12. The Keyboard Carmelo-mailer King is up to it on FB again. Arguing with someone who points out how disgusting Lane and 411 were. The guy is actually using the excuse that those things only happened during a campaign and that makes it ok.

Amazing how some people can't see that

    1. What I find amazing is that some people apply a double standard. For example, someone did something reprehensible while working for the dark side, but now that that person works on the reform side, all is forgiven and he/she is a real great guy/gal. I disagree. I think someone willing to do anything to fit in (be cool, etc) is a dangerous person to have around.

      Delete
    2. Has that happened recently, Snoopy? Just curious, honest question, let us know.

      Delete
    3. Yeah, Snoopy, I don't think there are any of the worst dark siders over on the reform side now that are too deeply involved in anything.

      Are there?

      Delete
    4. It depends on how you define "deeply involved". But I don't think this is the platform to discuss that person. So I'm leaving it at this.

    5. that's quite a tease, snoopy. not fair to toss out that bone and then say "oh, never mind"!!! c'mob, out with it!

    8. anon@3:12...if, as snoopy says, they did "something reprehensible while working for the dark side", you'd think everyone would know about it, wouldn't they? i'm confused about this whole thing, or maybe what they did wasn't all that reprehensible.

    9. anon 5pm: I saw it in an email or affidavit leak. I think it was on GA but it may have been on MSV. I didn't know about it until I read it. I doubt anyone knew about it, I always assumed the normal culprit was responsible.

      Delete
    10. well, snoopy, you've got a bunch of reform people commenting here and none of them (including GA) have a clue as to what you're talking about. why the tease and fancy dance around the topic? you brought it up, why'd you even say it in the first place if you didn't have the nerve to explain it?

      Delete
    11. It's not nerve, it's the fact I don't want to add to this person's current situation. But short story is this: We all are outraged about Beth's "october surprise" against Tom re: his bankruptcy; we are all outraged about the filth put out against Jen and Tiffany in this election; and we all agree that it's dirty politics to release nasty information to tank a candidate whether it's released via 411 (Tom) or mailings (Jen and Tiffany).

But no one so much as blinked or commented when we learned this week who provided 411 with the information about Cammarano's Florida arrest (back child support owed) or the fact that the person who did it openly admitted that while Lane was the normal 411 liaison, the pro on Mason's campaign was sick of Lane's attitude so he decided to make this person the new information distributor.

There can be no doubt that he knew it was wrong to put it out there & quite frankly I remember feeling bad for Cammarano when the info was released on 411 (not bad enough to vote for him).

  13. I've always known Al Sullivan to be a straight shooter and ethical journalist. Is it possible that he is being forced by management to take certain stands in his column? Believe it or not, that does happen in journalism -- in fact, everyday on Fox News.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. i don't know al personally but i doubt someone would post comments on Facebook like he did if he didn't believe it. i guess there's an outside chance he could be "forced" to take a certain position in his workplace, but when he posts on Facebook it's on his own time. as for fox news, you are definitely wrong: o'reilly, hannity, the nitwits of fox &friends, etc., believe what they say 100%.

      Delete
    2. I guess it depends on what you mean when you say "Al believes" what he writes and says. I'm sure he absolutely believes that when he says Zimmer is no better and perhaps even more corrupt that the Russos and that Stan is the one really running the show because Dawn is just a stupid incompetent photographer/housewife wildly over her head that he is exposing the TRUTH but he doesn't mind telling a few lies along the way since he knows as a matter of religious conviction that his ultimate TRUTH is true.

The more interesting question us whether Al actually believes the e-mails given to him by Garcia actually prove (or even remotely imply) any of this. The only way he could believe that would be if he never actually read them
and has simply decided to "believe" either what he was told by Garcia or whatever he heard from the little voices in his head.

If Al has actually read the e-mails, then he is simply lying. Either way, it's pretty hard to make the case with a straight face to anybody familiar with his body of what can only euphemistically be called "work" that he has ever been a "straight shooter and ethical journalist."

But I guess you are entitled to your opinions, real or contrived. Unlike Al, at least you've labelled them as such.

  14. Al Sullivan's column this week is like Seinfeld's "Bizarro World": what's up is down, what's black is white, what's hot is cold, and reform's 7-2 council supermajority is GREAT NEWS for the OG and Ruben Ramos!
