Earwitness Rumor: Election Edition

Today's Earwitness Rumor(s) were provided by an Ear thisclose to Dark Side 'movers and shakers' including elected officials.

It is an Earwitness Rumor JAMBALAYA from behind-the-scenes:

Frank 'Pupie' Raia is ("definitely") helping Tim Occhipinti in the 4th ward race.  Paul Swibinski is working for Ruben Ramos "because they hate Frank." Michael Russo is pushing Ruben in the race because he can control him. Frank pushed Tim to run in 2013 because he (Raia) wanted to run for City Council.  Russo has asked Unions to support Ramos. They turned him down.   Russo's hate for the mayor is real. Hates her because his dad, Anthony Russo, got kicked off the City's health plan. Nobody knows that Ruben is suing the City for alleged contamination to his house by underground oil tanks at the Boys and Girls Club.  Beth Mason is supporting Peter Biancamano in the 2nd Ward and Carmelo Garcia in the 6th. Pablo Fonseca, on the  Biancamano campaign, "cant stand Carmelo."  Word is Carmelo Garcia transferred his entire Garcia for Assembly account balance ("$41,000 or whatever it is") to his Garcia for Council race, and he is hitting up Dems in Trenton for money to "take out a Republican." (Giattino)
WOW, that's an earful.

GA's Earwitness was unable to confirm whether Frank was involved in the Board of Education race.

GA believes if Frank is helping Tim, then he is most likely helping the "Smarter Future" ticket with friends Britney Montgomery and John Madigan.

As my Earwitness told me: "Frank is very loyal."

  1. I hear Carmelo had a dirty flier making the rounds. If Beth is supporting him, that explains it. That's her style.

Frank helping Tim is good news for Wefer though. Frank only helps in one way.

  2. Ruben had to be pushed into running for council? I don't buy it.

    1. Ruben didn't HAVE to be pushed in. He wants to crush Tim and run for Mayor again. Earwitness referred to Russo pushing him to run because "he (Ramos) can be controlled."

    2. So Russo pushed Ruben into doing something Ruben was already going to do? The only way this makes sense is if Russo didn't know Ruben was going to run and EVERYONE knew Ruben was going to run the second he lost the mayor's election. Sorry GA this one just doesn't make sense.

    3. Both Occhipinti and Ramos seem to have the same talking points.

I may have been against all of it before but I am NOW for everything good that the Zimmer Administration and the present City Council has done and wants to do but I could change my mind if the price is eight. I wouldn't trust either of them.

Dana Wefer seems to be doing all the right things in the right way.

    4. Anon, my reading of the Earwitness was Russo "pushing" Ruben as in promoting hard because he (Russo) thinks Ramos is malleable, easily controlled. Like a piece of clay.

Everybody knows Ruben planned to run, don't need an Earwitness for that. Phrasing wasn't clear- should have written "in" not "into." Will fix, thanks.

    5. I think Ramos had serious second thoughts about running when he saw the people behind Occhipinti, who are more than willing to screw him over while helping their boy.
Ruben also knows that another humiliating loss especially a loss in his home Ward would really hurt him ever successfully running for mayor. Michael Russo also wants to be mayor. If Ruben wins Mikey wins. If Ruben loses Mikey wins. That is how the Russos like to play the long game.

    6. I assumed that the Ear who reported this jambalaya is saying that Russo is pushing for Ruben to win rather than Tim. The ear is not saying Russo pushed ruben into the race, just chose one over the other to support. Ruben is on a revenge run against Tim and Frank. At least that's how I interpreted it

  3. REMINDER: TOMORROW IS THE LAST DAY TO REGISTER TO VOTE IN THE NOVEMBER ELECTIONS.

  4. I heard a few people wondering what's up with Ramos, he's been pretty invisible in this campaign so far. Haven't read about any announcements, fundraisers or meetings with ward residents, etc. Weird.

Also, how is the OG ever going to be mayor if Ruben, Mikey and Stick all think THEY should be mayor?

    1. I noticed that RR was MIA too.

As for Mikey, Dawn looks strong and will get stronger by the time the mayoral elections roll around in two years and if he decides to run he will make Stick and Ruben an offer they can't refuse to drop away. If the Darksiders split again they lose.

    2. I saw Tim canvassing on Madison. No one's seen Ruben.

    3. Old Guard candidates don't need to campaign if they intend to engage in illegal vote harvesting.

    4. Does Ruben even have signs? There aren't any in his mom's window.

    5. The 4th Ward demographics have changed making the "illegal" votes less potent. Remember too that both Ramos and Occhipinti may be sharing the HHA votes.

    6. I foresee a new best-seller: "There in the World is Ruben Ramos? (2015 Hoboken City Council Election Edition)".

  5. Ruben Ramos ran in 2013. He knows what his vote will be. He doesn't have to sweat it. Others need to beat him.

Enjoy it Brian, you deserve it.
