2nd Ward B Sting

The B's: Bonnie Murray and Peter Biancamano, 2nd Ward candidates for City Council

Ouch!

The eleventh hour exit of Beth Mason was supposed to clear the way for Peter Biancamano to take on Reform candidate, Tiffanie FisherSupposed to.

Ruben Ramos had other ideas.

Just two years ago, his chance to become mayor of Hoboken was dashed by the late entry of a third ticket headed by Tim Occhipinti.  This ticket, "One Hoboken," was largely funded by developer Frank Raia, an At-Large Council candidate running with longtime friend, Peter Biancamano.

2013: Mayoral candidate Ruben Ramos with supporter Brian Murray

More recently, Ramos' allies Michael Russo and Carmelo Garcia, took a nasty dump on Raia  friend, Jamie Cryan, at the Hoboken Democratic Committee reorganization:
Cryan had appointed a Chairman Pro Tempore to take nominations but, acording to witnesses, before they could proceed Cryan was shouted down by Matt Calicchio, Michele and Michael Russo, Joe Branco, and Carmelo in an orchestrated coup to stop the secret ballot. What followed was orchestrated chaos: the Russo faction refused to acknowledge the Chair, seized the microphone, shouted, and finally took control of the mic. Chaos won. There was NO secret ballot, all forced to vote under the watchful eye of Garcia, Branco and the Russos. Here is what an eye witness told GA:"Michele, Michael, Matt Calicchio and Branco walked around telling people to raise their hands. Non Committee people were raising their hands. They pretended to count and then announced Romano as Chairman."
Russo's disrespecting Cryan and hijack of Hoboken's Democratic Committee only added to the bad blood between the Raia-Ramos camps.

And so, (in GA's opinion) that is why Raia's former "One Hoboken" running mate, Peter Biancamano, got a B-Sting yesterday.

B as in B(onnie)... ouch!

More: hubby Brian Murray is close to 4th Ward challenger Ruben Ramos and very close to 6th Ward Challenger Carmelo Garcia.

How close?

Murray and pal Joe Branco were Carmelo Garcia's cheering section at the BoE...

...and Murray was at the head of the mob, cheering, "We can, we will, watch us!" for HHA Executive Director  Garcia the night he was fired.

And so, from the heart of the Ramos camp, a B was dispatched to sting Biancamano.

Ouch!

GA note to Bonnie: Looking good... pretty photo.

  1. But there's that other 'B' whenever Frank backs a candidate. vBm.

  2. Biancamnao got an obscene number of VBM's city wide when he has run for BOE and city council. But are those votes available for the classic $40 per worker in the 2nd ward?

Hasn't Applied mostly replaced their residents with market rate apartments? (Good job Carmelo)

I hope Biancamano doesn't get underestimated by Miss Fisher. He does know a lot of 2nd warders and people may mistake how wonderful his parents are for how Biancamano will represent the ward

I know nothing of Mrs Murray. Does she live in the Tea Building?

    1. I don't think anyone is underestimating developer Frank "Pupie" Raia's money and what he is ready, willing and able to do with it to get Peter B elected.

There is no PB without FR's cash.

    1. I would like to point out that the dumbest council person, and possibly the overall dumbest person in Hoboken, just decided not to run again for her council seat after 8 years. So being a doofus doesn't preclude someone from winning

    2. Anon 2:13, dunno if she was the dumbest but she was the meanest.

    3. I know him. He's an idiot. And Mason was far from dumb.

  4. I hardly think this is good news for reform. Low information voters may vote for murray taking votes away from fisher.

    1. It's possible but Bonnie's on a ticket with Carmelo. A stink that doesn't wash off.

    2. Good point. Carmelo has reverse coat-tails.

    3. Sorry, but Bonnie in the race takes votes from Peter, not Tiffanie. Bonnie and Peter are both on OG tickets and are the ones who will split Applied. No getting away from it when running mates are Russo/Ramos/Castellano/Garcia on one side and Raia/Timmy on the other. Those two campaigns are already starting to sound kind of desperate, ouch.

    4. Tiffanie who? Bonnie who? I don't know either of these people or know their records. Others probably don't too. If they are both representing themselves are reformers they'll hit the same voter pool.

    5. You think Bonnie is a reformer running with Russo, Carmelo and Ruben? People will smell the stench of those 3 guys on Mrs Murray whether she likes it or not. Guilt by association

    6. anon@4:05, to you have a reading comprehension problem or just a troll? on what planet is bonnie a reformer?? LOL, nice try.

    7. On what planet do you think most people have the faintest idea who Bonnie or Tiffanie are?

    8. I haven't heard that there's multiple tickets anywhere but on the blogs. I've seen 1 ticket owing only to the recent fundraiser, the Mayor's, and it didn't have a 2nd or 3rd ward candidate included on the ticket. I haven't seen any other tickets....yet.

    9. anon-troll@5:00...lots of people in the 2nd ward know Tiffanie and her active work in the Tea Building and against the Monarch, as well as the support she's received from the mayor. She is clearly the reform candidate, while Murray and family are clearly aligned with Russo/Ramos/Garcia. But you knew that. Cuz trollin'.

Any other questions? Yeah, didn't think so.

    10. Anon @ 7:16- it's not rocket science. I understand why Bonnie Murray wouldnt want to be associated with Russo, Garcia and Castellano.

    11. I know about as much as Tiffanie and Bonnie as I knew about that Tom guy 4 years ago. Don't assume just because you know someone that the thousands of people in the 2nd ward will have any idea who they are.

There are a lot of people running for 2nd ward and most people don't closely follow politics.

    12. As a parent of school aged kids, I've met the Murrays many times. PTA meetings, birthday parties, kids events...they are pretty well known to other parents.

    13. ok anon@9:27, we get it. you don't know them, other people don't know them. got it. point made.

    14. "AnonymousSeptember 2, 2015 at 11:14 AM" - Why the attitude? I support reform but pretending these races are going to be easy does everyone a disservice.

The 4th ward is going to be a very difficult race, despite MSV declaring reform's candidate Hoboken's golden girl.

The 1st ward is also tough and it's going to take a lot of work to win. It is winnable though.

The 2nd ward there has no incumbent candidate but with 3 new candidates running it's going to take work for Reform to cut through the apathy and noise to win.

If we respect the fight in front of us we can win.

Why would anyone vote for these Old Guard new "faces?"
    Same shit, different day.

Tiffanie's been involved with lots of Hoboken issues in recent years. She's been out and about and is well respected.

This dude was out screaming with the Carmelito Mob. Tells you plenty.

  7. Anyone here ever speak to bonnie Murray?
Let's just say she doesnt make friends easily.

  8. Must be election season. The same people who tell you not to judge a candidate by their spouse will invite you to judge a candidate by his looks.

  9. Murray doesn't do her own homework, she milks other people. Liars like this belong out of Hoboken.
