"Troops" No More?

GA instructions: Play video with volume up as you read today's post:

My friend Al Sullivan had this tasty dish in this week's column:
Fourth Ward Councilman Tim Occhipinti has made it clear that he is not going to be run out of town, despite a likely challenge from former Assemblyman/Councilman Ruben Ramos...   Rumors suggest that Ramos is so determined to get even with Occhipinti for the 2013 loss that he might even be willing to make a deal with Zimmer, and apparently wants to settle scores with other anti-Zimmer people, such as Councilwoman Terry Castellano. Ramos is rumored to be seeking a candidate to run against Castellano as well.
GA wasn't aware Ruben was miffed at Terry Castellano.  For what?  Did she fly too low over him?

Ruben honey, solve your problem with a bucket of water.

GA is not sure what to think about the alleged animus between Ruben Ramos and Tim Occhipinti, who only a few short years ago were "troops" on the same side of Hoboken's factional warfare.

GA didn't call them "troops," one of the "troops" called them "troops:"

That's quite an army!

The dedication of this army to triumph on the political battlefield, in lockstep, with a unified strategy developed off the battlefield, is clear.  What is not clear is who this leading this army.  Maybe that's why they keep losing?  Or are they losers because they have followed the wrong leader? Or are they losers because some have betrayed others- like snatching defeat from the jaws of victory in a mayoral race?

Who knows.

In any case, these "troops" seem to conduct civil discourse amongst themselves, always polite. As in the "combat" strategy offered  Lane "not an operative" Bajardi
"...We need to spread the word as best we can and prepare for a showdown at the first meeting of the new year. The other side is loaded for bear. We need to be prepared to combat their planned show of force."
This civility of the 2010 army makes it hard to believe the 2015 army has split into the factions described by Al Sullivan.

GA has no horse in a Ruben v Tim race, but peeps tell me Assemblyman Ramos was an excellent, proactive advocate for public school education in Trenton.   GA hopes, should he run, he maintains his commitment to everybody's children, including the disadvantaged and expensive-to-educate.

At the end of the day, that is what matters.

  1. GA, i'd argue the bigger (read: funnier) bit in Al's column this week is the "Ms. Mason Goes to Washington" news of the Clinton/Mason administration!! LOL!!! I'm sure Ricky's bank account is attractive to the Clinton campaign so they'd leave the door open to a possible position as long as the checks clear.

Good God, I have never wanted more for Elizabeth Warren to run!

    1. Are you throwing down the gauntlet, Anon? I'm not sure I can be any funnier than Al. Ok, I'll see what I can do!

    2. She sure is delusional. She is not only completely unqualified for any job in DC, she has done such a poor job politically here in town that she is nothing but a massive liability to any candidate. They may take her money, but nobody running for office really wants her anywhere near their campaigns.

    3. Sullivan gives lip service to Mason's delusions that she's going anywhere on a national level. Whatever she has told him, this is probably just protective cover for her as she slinks away. The scandal sensitive Clinton campaign will see all of Beth & Ricky Mason's dealings, thanks to the internet, and will decline her involvement on any level other than financial support.

Washington is just a short ride away from the Mason's white-trash shangrila in Virginia, from which they will more likely become the Salahi style gatecrashers of Hillary's white house parties. I'm sure her outfit will be memorable.

    4. Masons complaints against Horse put the kibosh on her D.C. dreams. Once that shrew perjures herself on the stand its all over.

  2. Teri Castellano refused to back Ruben Ramos when he ran for mayor saying he wasn't qualified.

  3. didn't terry baby boy serve as campaign manager for timmy's mayoral run? if so, that's a good reason for ruben to hate her. maybe i'm confused, all these OG bedfellows start to blend together after a while, all interchangeable depending on what they can get out of it.

not sure i can believe a ramos-zimmer deal. while he did some decent work, i still don't trust him. according to all-knowing/all-seeing al sullivan, ruben still wants to be mayor. if not, would he back romano?

    1. Cryan ran Occhipinti's campaign. Lots of swag from Beth, Ricky and Fran. If there's swag around, Jamie usually finds it.

    2. In 2013, Terry's son John was campaign manager for Ruben Ramos' mayoral campaign not Timmy. He was also co-campaign manager on the 2012 Move Forward Nazi Truck campaign.

  4. Ferrante is in those emails quite a few times. Any chance his fiancee is going to introduce legislation to restrict what goes on with VBMs in Hoboken (forgetting what that intellectual creationist moron Petrosino chooses to believe)? Have my doubts.

    1. Ferrante has been politically active for years. Over the past few years he has built a good working relationship w/ Zimmer and in the 2013 election was extremely helpful to her election. Ferrante's hard work was a big reason Zimmer won Marine View. So yes, you may see Ferrante's name pop on the old emails.

As for Annette Chapparo, I know her personally, and she is a wonderful lady; Annette will go out of her way to assist those who ask for her help. Please contact her at ChaparroForNJ33@gmail.com, tell her your concerns and ask her what she can do in Trenton to make it difficult to game our elections with VBMs.

  5. Kim Glatt is in there too. Does she know that Lane calls her a dog killer and tells people she is responsible for getting women beat up when she terminates restraining orders?

  6. Liebler can't pretend he isn't in cahoots with these clowns any more. Maybe you can post a "best of The Liebler" story soon? Or are you saving your "best of person X" stories until you find out which of the clowns up above decides to run? With 50,000 emails, I bet you got some nice stuff to pull story material from on at least a couple dozen wannabes.

  7. These idiots have no idea how to manage finances. Under their leadership and lets not forget that Reuben Ramos spent many years on the City Council, they were pillaging the city's coffers and running the city into the ground.

NEVER again should Reuben Ramos be elected to anything in this city. Reuben Ramos has contributed to doing serious damage to the city. Plus he is a school teacher that spends more time out of the class room then in. He is a manipulative weasel just like the rest of them.

Vote for Timmy O over Reuben. A box of rocks is better then a rat.

    1. Agreed. Tim is a moron. Ruben is far worse.

    2. Tim filed charges against the owner of this blog on the flimsiest possible pretext whereby she was interrogated in front of her child by detectives for an hour. He is an utter scumbag who will clearly do anything he is told to do.

In any case, the real dirt on him has barely started as far as discovery documents go. By this fall I suspect that he, like Beth, will be unelectable.

    3. Flimsy? A graphic written in blue crayon on loose leaf paper where I boast about using the Vulcan Death grip once the FBI hires me, then invite them out for a falafel at Mamoun's? You mean that's not credible?

Lane Bajardi called it "terroristic" in his police complaint.

Timmy thought so. Mason thought so. Lane Bajardi and Kim Cardinal thought so. Judges Vanek and Arre? Not so much.

I seem to recall some laughter in the courtroom when Judge Arre read the Dear FBI Letter No. 4 letter in open court.

  8. Question - if we know Al is full of hot air when it comes to Zimmer / reform articles, how do we know he isn't full of hot air on the Ruben / Tim crap too?

    1. Check Ruben's facebook page. He's running. Whether he's making deals with Zimmer is open to debate. He very much represents the people who resent losing their place in Hoboken but can't point to anything they did to earn that place.

    2. If Carmelo publicly comes out for Ruben he will lose any chance of getting even the smallest percentage of votes outside the HHA.

Carmelo calling Frank a buffoon shows the rift between the old guard Italians and the Hispanics in Hoboken.

The 4th Ward demographics have changed drastically and they odds are not in Ruben's favor.

  9. "We are all ready" Ruben Ramos

Stfu you sleazy street rat. He who hailed from the projects and worked with his buddy Carmelo Garcia to sell the housing authority down the river. Ruben Ramos salivating over vision 20/20. Couldn't wait to sell out his peeps to the highest bidder.

    1. even though beth, timmy and frank are the reason they lost in 2013, i'm thinking "them" is everybody who isn't bnr. biancamano is a bnr who was part of that occhipinti dream ticket. but see if they don't find him easier to forgive.

      Delete
    2. I don't believe the "them" is "them". I think it is the newcomers. But, who knows what's going on in their lame brains.

  11. Not all BNR's support the old-guard corrupt machine. Many are just decent, hard-working people who saw the city and its institutions exploited for years.

It's also true that recent arrivals aren't necessarily involved in the local scene for honorable reasons. People like the Masons, Keim's, Stojkovics and Bajardis, as well as Cryan, Liebler, and many others who under other circumstances, would have been derided as "yuppies", by those they are involved with, prove the point.

    1. People like the Russo's have worked very hard to divide Hoboken with over a decade of us against them hate mongering.

Many of the BNR's look around and see all the good things that have happened in Hoboken and support the change.

      Delete
    2. i agree there are many decent BNR, most of them in fact. if i recall correctly, ramos made a stink VBMs during the last election, but will be engage in the practice himself this time? if timmy is dumb enough (!) to run again, will pupie battle ramos for the VBMs? that kind of competition could drive up the price of vote buying. oops, i mean, "campaign worker" payment.

if they both run, they could split the OG vote and enable a good reformer to get in. who does reform have for the 4th ward?

  12. Counting on Timmy to stay in the race.
