Dish from the Vine: Election Winners and Losers

Great new Hudson County political blog

So now you know GA's Monday routine: I make a cup of French Roast so thick you can write your name on top, then check the latest edition of Hangin on the Vine.

This week's dispatch is a lot of fun: The Election's Winners and Losers .   Now, a Hoboken-centric gal like me doesn't know many of these folks outside our  borders, but Mr./Ms Vine dishes movement from deep within the bowels of Hoboken.  Call them Hoboken 'bowel movements' (BMs) like Beth Mason, for instance. Mason is one Hoboken bowel movement our blogging comrade, Mr./Ms. Vine, is tracking.  A bowel movement imported from Weehawken (must they ship their crap to us? )  that the Vine is tracking is Finboy a.k.a. Aqua Mole.  And a North Bergen bowel movement, Paul Swibinski, and more from Hoboken: Theresa Castellano, Mike Russo...

Here are some excerpts from The Vine's "Election Losers"

Yeah, I'm with you Mr./Ms. Vine.  Swibinski promised Zimmer to Sacco's face he would not step into the Hoboken election for Ruben Liar, liar pants on fire!   Zimmer is not your typical Hudson County sourpuss politician who nurses grudges and sports vendettas; she's all about governing Hoboken.  That said, GA suspects Zimmer is not ruminating over Swibinski's broken promise.  It simply shows Swibinski to be- as the Vine puts it- without "scruples". Welcome to Hudson County's political slime pit.

More "Election Losers":

Wow,  that  Hoboken-bowel movement, Beth Mason,  supports "horror show consultants"? Who would've thunk it?

You mean "horror show consultants" that:
  1. Orchestrate defamation campaigns and racist blogging against Ravi Bhalla?
  2. And Nazi trucks and defamatory midnight flyers against bloggers (me)?
  3. That cook up a lawsuit against the entire reform blogosphere with emphasis on GA?
  4. That get paid for their political work by a 501(c)3?
  5. A husband and wife team that photograph the abandoned flood-damaged home of a Councilwoman so she can be attacked for leaving it?
  6. An infamous "not an operative" operative busted filming the home of a Kids First member- with her young son in tow-- on a frigid day!  (What kind of parent-operative would drag her little boy out in the cold to execute a political operative mission? At least the little boy was wearing a ... let me check the video....  a red and black jacket and a blue hat! Thank goodness he was bundled up as his negligent mother snapped photos of the Kids First member's home)
Are those the kind you mean?  Nice to know all of Hudson County is onto her schtick.

And apparently Hudson County is onto Finboy a.k.a. Aqua-Mole's too! Your assessment "Anyone who hires him is out of their skull" is proof that Hoboken politicos are out of their skulls, time and time again.  Will they ever learn?

Probably not.

And GA saved the best for last (hee hee)- these were in the "Election Winners" column:

Thank you Mr./Ms. Vine!  GA appreciates the nod.  Hoboken is a quirky place, isn't it?

  1. Hoboken, the best is yet to come and won't it be fine.

  2. why would someone stalk a kids first member's home?

    1. Because they are political operatives who will deny that they are in any number of court filings.

    2. Filing such a disingenuous claim in a court of law was a mistake which cost them. Stalking the home of a board official? Does this board official have kids? Maybe he or she should press charges.

  3. Alas, like every "official" news outlet, the Hangin' on the Vine story has reported the results on Hoboken Public Question #1 incorrectly. Final results: Yes: 5022 - No: 5144. Wondering if there will ever be a correction anywhere. (Note: MSV is the only outlet on top of this.) It also might make more sense to put the result in both columns - the win column for the HFHA and the losing column for Msta. And on a side note, in connection with this question, democracy could also be put into the win column - since the will of the people from 2012 was repeated in 2013

    1. I assume Mr./Ms. Vine will update accordingly. My guess is the column was written prior to final numbers. As you point out, I don't have the updates either.

  4. The Vine rightly counted you as a winner, GA, but wrongly described you as a "pro-Zimmer blogger" because that doesn't do your work justice. Yes, you support the Mayor because she has earned your support, but more importantly, you have bravely withstood a $2 million lawsuit designed to silence you, filed by your political enemies, and you have not bent or been broken.

Thank you for your service to our community, and keep up the good work.

  5. Finn Boy loses regardless of how people perceive him in this election: If he sabotaged Tim, then he's seen as a traitor that can't be trusted, if he is seen as running the most incompetent campaign in Hoboken history, he is seen as a complete flop. My guess in the end, he and the others were just getting their money's worth out of what they saw as a losing ticket, doing as little as possible to actually earn that money. But even if that's the case, finn boy screwed it up by going after russo.

  6. Your article is wrong and so is 'vine.' I'm a winner. Not only did I leap frog from one bed to another safely but I got lots of publicity for my rising fiction career and tons of publicity. People are ringing me up tons, just wish it was for my writing.

I'll be on top when the dust all settles, you'll see.

  7. Your forgetting about another huge pile of manure who has the initials BM. A Board of Ed candidate who lost BIG and sells real estate often found in bathtubs producing utube video's. His bathtub toys include assemblymen of today and yesterday and a bar owner in town. Who wouldn't love to flush them all down the drain?

    1. I was just coming in to say that GA left out poor Brian Murray, a winner at whining, who is consoling himself after his loss by being nastier than ever.

    2. I had a feeling I'd left someone out... thank you.

  9. Frank is mad, but what's up with Beth? How did she take it when every candidate she supporter lost, definitively. And how does she feel about the double-cross by Minnow-boy? I hope Bhalla's law suit happens soon.

BTW, things are mighty quiet since the election on Patch, not a sign of CuriousGal, Dov, Out of Control, Ravi Ravioli or any of the others. Hmm...

    1. Patch is a ghost own doing little to nothing on Hoboken and some regional features/news. Since AOL cut back, they closed up shop in most areas and kept about a dozen cities with affiliates. Hoboken is an affiliate and has no full time coverage. Hoboken stories are pretty much random now.

As for the anti political ops, they saw the writing on the wall and there's not even an audience for them to fight with there. No one cares what they think. CuriousGal has some legal questions to fill out. Lots of them.

    2. Curious Gal might be busy lurking outside of people's homes with her camera and dragging her poor kid along.

    3. Patch may be dead, but there was one interesting exchange yesterday on the story "Hudson Co. Dems Sweep 33rd District"

It's incredibly sad when evil people win. You almost feel there is no God in the universe. However, with the clean sweep by Mayor Zimmer and her slate, Brain Stack and the developers will no longer threaten Hoboken's most vulnerable residents with displacement for kickbacks or any other reasons. It's now time to get rid of Mr. Garcia as HHA director. Any man who dares giveaway the Public Housing to developers to replace them with luxury housing shouldn't be an HHA director.

Jessica Coco you could not be more wrong from the truth..and hate all you want he won because he is the right man for the job, and he was the second highest vote getter in Hoboken, numbers don't lie , his number of Hoboken votes were very very impressive!! And there was a split not a sweep, Frank Raia and Zimmer set it up, there's pictures of them celebrating at he headquarters on election night.

Yup, that's right: Cindy/Dov knows the INSIDE SCOOP of a secret Zimmer/Raia plan!!
