Ruben's Buzzkill

Ruben Ramos' plane buzzes crowd of 20,000 concertgoers at Pier A

Did you hear the buzz?

It came from a low-flying plane that circled Pier A during last Friday's Dylan concert, according to a witness, "for a long time... while it was light out."

The low-flying plane pulled a large banner for Ruben Ramos' Vision for Hoboken campaign.

I asked a friend who'd attended the concert if he'd seen the plane with the banner and he said:  "Yeah, we couldn't read what it said and were distracted and irritated by it.  The people next to us were commenting on how annoying it was.   It was buzzing... making noise that competed with the music, like a mosquito buzzing in your ear."

GA wonders who in the Ramos campaign thought this was a good idea.

Our City is fresh off a jihad against noisy helicopters, so Ramos thought he'd rent a noisy plane to harass 20,000 people at a Dylan concert?  Probably most from out-of-town who can't vote for him anyway?

  1. Just shows that he's not just figuratively tone deaf when it comes to the problems around here.

  2. No props to them! As my bud would say it is plane to see they seemingly are winging it with another pilot program from a fly by night operation.

  3. That little busy bee Ruben has been supplanted by one of his buddies who whispers say has been quite the busy bee with a tape recorder. Taping conversations here, there, everywhere leading to preparation of a construction scam on Hoboken.

If you thought it was a good idea to oppose said massive redevelopment, then the busy bee buzzed it would be happy to share the contents of said recording(s) if you fail to knuckle under to being blackmailed.

Some library tapes don't need to be used as Tim Occhipinti, Michael Russo, Terry Castellano and Beth Mason are all on board with the busy bee's plans.

    Helleva plan, wouldn't you say?

  4. Ramos is desperate. Despite these juvenile stunts his very low poll numbers are not going up. Happy faces are being painted on to hide what even they know is going to be an epic fail.

Few people are willing to pay to go down with a sinking ship.

  5. Hmm That's got to cost a pretty penny. $$$$ or does Brano know a guy who knows a guy who has a plane?

  6. My guess would be no one, not even the campaign treasurer, knows who rented the plane. That's the way it usually works, right? Perhaps a little cash deal.

  7. The plane's trailer had Ramos name too small. One observer thought is was a Pepsi commercial and another commented he thought it was for Obama's health care plan. A poor use of campaign funds.....
