What a coincidence! Two of Hoboken's most influential women adorn the covers of two of America's leading magazines!
First there's Mayor Dawn Zimmer, on the cover of Glamour! According to the Huffington Post, Glamour's circulation in 2012 was 2,374,291. Wow, that means almost 5 million individual eyeballs will be oggling our mayor- I hope her husband, er...what's-his-name, isn't a jealous man.
In fact, Zimmer was featured inside Glamour magazine as one of 10 influential American women advising the rest of us: "How to Get Sh*t Done".
Great advice, mayor!.
Next time I appear on CNN after my bathroom floods (happens all the time) and Governor Christie finds out, hopefully he'll send the National Guard to unclog my toilet and rescue my carpets.
But whether or not he does, Mayor Zimmer's performance for Hoboken during and after the flood has been nothing short of excellent. And her charity RebuildHoboken.org, has raised well over $800K, much to be given out in small grants to residents with flood-damage exceeding their insurance coverage... every bit helps.
Perhaps that's why our mayor made the February 2013 cover of Glamour magazine:
Hoboken's next cover girl is none other than Councilwoman Beth Mason, appearing on the front of this month's Sue Magazine:
Wow!
We should all be proud to have Hoboken women featured on the covers of not ONE but TWO national magazines! One of the magazines features a spectacularly successful mayor of a city of 50,000. The other features a spectacularly prolific sue-er; sometimes as the Plaintiff, other times hiding behind a proxy (underwriting the Plaintiff (s))... fabulous!
Congratulations, ladies.
