1% of those Invited to Attend Mason Fundraiser- UPDATED

(Updated 6 PM)

Great news!

The RSVPs to Beth Mason's 'Hudson Country Recovers' Dec. 20th fundraiser have shot up by 2 warm bodies, bringing the grand total to 8 out of 594. Which means...

The percentage of those invited to Beth Mason's fundraiser who are attending has skyrocketed from 1% to 1.3%!

WOW.   And guess who that 8th pulse in the room will be?

None other than Mason Civic League employee, Matt Calicchio.

Sadly, GA must report that the declines shot up to 18 (that's 3% of 594).

Were you invited?  Why?  Why not?

Actual invitation to Mason's "Hudson County Recovers" Dec. 20 fundraiser with relative font sizes noted in red. "Beth Mason" uses the largest size font, at 36 points. The name of the charity "Hudson County Recovers" is only 11 points-  less that 1/3 the size of Mason's name, and less than 2/3 the size of Mason's title, "President" and "Mason Civic League" (18 points).

Yes, it's true.  That's 6 going out of 594 invited (as of today according to Facebook).

Wow, talk about a stock's collapse.  99% have either declined, will decline, will ignore or are undecided- until they decline or ignore.

It this remarkably poor response due to the Nazi Truck Effect?

And... 2 of the 6 who are going are her political operatives:  James Barracato and Adam Alonso, another going is Councilman Tim Occhipinti.   So far, 17 have declined.

(But really, who thinks Timmy is paying the $300 cover himself?  Remember this:)

Earlier this year Tim attended a senior bingo night and brought two cakes, put them down on the refreshment table when everyone was looking, then picked one of them up and left when they weren't.
Ouch.

The December 20th  fundraiser is for Mason's venture Hudson County Recovers (HCR) which purports to "assist" a handful of "diverse charitable organizations" to aid local victims of hurricane Sandy.

On closer inspection,  HCR is only funding municipalities in District 33 (Ruben Ramos') plus Bayonne (Mayor Mark Smith is Chairman of the HCDO).  The fund lists Weehawken Mayor Richard Turner's 527 political organization,  Weehawken and You Civic Association, as a sponsored charity. Does Mayor Turner know about this?

As for recovery needs, see below FEMA's assessment of Hudson County damaged structures and you tell me where in Hudson County Hoboken City Councilwoman Beth Mason SHOULD be fundraising.

Get it?  Unelectable in Hoboken, Mason is taking her act on the road. Sources say she wants County Executive or U.S. Congress.  Her 3rd choice is Ruben's Assembly seat.

So, go check out the guest list on Facebook and see if you were invited.  There are some surprises on there.

But really, why Secaucus?  Hoboken has plenty of great restaurants that could use this business. Maybe someone should ask her this at the Council.

Well, GA hears that Mason will be providing transportation to Secaucus, in fact I hear she's rented a truck for the occasion:

Secaucus or bust!

  1. We should hang out in front of the place and laugh at people. Call them "sucker" and such. Good fun!
