Chatty Kathy

A friend called me earlier today, laughing: " Ha ha... Klaussen wrote one of his fake letters today...   this time he calls himself  "Kathy...  ha ha..."

Chatty Kathy.

GA loves the fake letters on Hoboken411.

Horribly over-written and unconvincing, they smack of  smug self-confidence, clumsily weaving Mason talking points through the sticky prose.  And they are formulaic. The narrator defines himself/herself according to the demographic the propaganda is meant to persuade.

Who is Kathy?  In 'her' own words:
"...once again, I refer to the parents I hang out with at Church Square Park or the friends I dine with in local restaurants, or meet at the dog runs."
Okay, so Kathy411 is pitching to parents with kids and dogs.  Who eat.  In restaurants.

And she's one nasty bitch:
"I’ve come to the realization that voters (in my case, parents on the playground) believe in Dawn Zimmer’s sincerity because she comes across as excruciatingly plain and timid in person."
Now, now, Kathy.  I've heard you have hair on your face and a pot belly. Oh, you haven't finished?
"She gets criticized for her appearance by many, her lack of grooming, her casual cheap looking apparel, her obvious distaste for professional looking attire and make-up used by most female politicians, however, it’s that Plain Jane, clog and t-shirt-wearing persona that the public mistakenly equates with “sincerity.”"
Wait a minute... Kathy's talking about Zimmer's "cheap looking apparel, her distaste for professional looking attire and make-up used by most female politicians...."  Why,  Mr. Kathy's comparing her to... Beth Mason!   Meeeeeee-ow.

Expensive apparel! Professional looking attire! Make-up!
That's how you KNOW Kathy's a guy.

That kind of sexist claptrap would never come out of a woman's mouth- especially from a mom who hangs out in the playground.  Are you kidding? The author's probably never been near a playground in Hoboken and has no idea how stupid his petty carpings about Zimmer's looks would sound there.  We are a sisterhood. In fact, it's offensive that Kathy411 thinks we moms talk like that.  The author's hostility toward women drips off the page.   I don't know where it comes from: some deeply rooted psychological issue,  a tiny 'tool' or inability to 'perform' in the sack... who knows?

But Mr. Kathy is fascinating.   It's a shame only a handful of readers will experience his musings about the mayor, but Hoboken411's readership fled long ago.   The place is a ghost town.

Well, like everything else that the Mason gang touches, they have no clue how unintentionally funny  and contrived it sounds.   Keep it up, Mr. Kathy!

HR Spin on Hoboken's Internet Community

Here kitty, kitty, kitty...

Time and time again, GA has written about The Hoboken Reporter's symbiotic relationship with  Councilwoman Beth Mason.

While none of us were in the room to witness a deal being struck, here is what we know:
Mason Charity files e-Postcard returns in 2010 and 2011.  The Hoboken Reporter declined to follow up.

  • GA posted the 2005-2006 BoE audit showing the  Old Guard used our district's education budget like a slush fund.  It also showed a $25.8K payment to The Hoboken Reporter which the auditor, KPMG, cited "appears excessive".  Indeed.  That shakes out to about $500/week.    WHO reported this  past "excessive" BoE payment to The Hoboken ReporterThe Reform BLOGS.

  • GA posted the 3-part series on the non-profit, tax-exempt Mason Civic League, Inc. as follows:
....and THEN what happened?  The next day:
August- Ocober 2012: Mason political operatives sue Reform blogs and bloggers: 24 Defendants (2 Named, 10 John Does, 12 Screen Names) in total. Mason political operatives' blogger-lawsuit takes center-stage in BoE election campaign. Mason operatives' obsessive focus on bloggers- not the GOTV effort- loses election.
WHO connected the dots on WHO was responsible for planning and execution of the Nazi Truck, WHO made the Nazi Truck video, and how these are  ALL linked to a Hoboken Councilwoman? The Reform BLOGS.
And that's just part of  what's been covered on the blogs in 2012.

Why recount this?   Because my friend Sully took this disingenuous swipe at the Hoboken internet community.
Although the internet community in Hoboken ran into some legal issues during 2012, elsewhere in the county, the internet has become a viable political tool...
Hoboken's internet community not "viable"?  Not exactly.

If we weren't "viable", political operatives wouldn't be trying to shut us down and chill our discourse with a frivolous lawsuit.  If we weren't "viable" political operatives wouldn't have put bloggers at the center of a political campaign if the internet community were not telling the stories the Hoboken Reporter won't.   Imagine, all that energy and money spent to discredit the Reform blogosphere.  The internet community is under attack by political operatives.

And who is at the center of this campaign against Hoboken blogs and bloggers?

Councilwoman Beth Mason. Her operatives are renting Nazi trucks, making Nazi videos, and suing bloggers.  The blogs have posted evidence on the connection.  The Hoboken Reporter has chosen to ignore the blogs.

And that explains the why The Hoboken Reporter is eager to dismiss the viability of Hoboken's internet community.

Happy New Year from Al Sullivan

I agree with Al: anything is possible.

Yep, it's the end of the year, time for introspection.  2012: what went wrong, what went right. What never went.  What could have went, but didn't.  Why not?  Was that because you (or someone else) wanted it too much or not enough?  Do you still want it?  Why?  Why not?

And on and on.

As far as resolutions go, my advice is: set the bar low.  Then you won't be disappointed.

Me, I don't make resolutions; I think they're crap.  I just do. According to Al's musical message: "anything is possible." So, you want something?  Then skip the resolutions and go for it.

Thank you Al, for your New Year's song.

Missing Maurice

Maurice Fitzgibbons in 2008, a judge for the Sinatra Idol Contest at Sinatra Park. credit:

Maurice Fitzgibbons, Hudson County politico, passed away on December 18, 2011.  A year ago.

GA didn't know Fitzgibbons well, but heard from many others how influential he was in directing political strategy and messaging for Hoboken's Dark Side.  And GA heard that Maurice was brainy, along with having acute political skills.

In my one brief encounter with Maurice, he was charming.  I introduced myself this way, "Hi Maurice, I know you hate my guts..." and he laughed, then proceeded to make me feel like he loved my guts- all of them: liver, kidneys, pancreas, lymph nodes, gall bladder, small intestines, etc. etc. etc.  Now, that's political talent.  In fact, Maurice suggested that he might even have graphic design work for me- and my guts.  Again, how smart of him.  Because what better way to neutralize a critic than to become his/her boss. And at the same time make me one of them.

And he was polite.

That kind of civility in Hoboken politics- where you can at least talk to the other side was on it's way out with Fitzgibbons' health; when he died, it died with him.  .

His death left a vacuum on the Dark Side. There was no one with his skill set left to replace him: common sense, smarts and savvy. There was no one behind-the-scenes to guide the direction of Hoboken's Dark Side officials and their political operatives. Without Maurice, off-the-rails political operatives have run amok in Hoboken beginning an Era of Bully Politics, the facilitator is Beth Mason's checkbook. Her merry band of morons, led by a Weehawken anchovy with an out-sized self-image, use her checkbook to bully opponents silent with lawsuits and Nazi Trucks.  An election was lost because this tainted-tuna was allowed to run amok, tapping the checkbook for his vendetta against  bloggers.  And he ran amok because no one could stop him.

Except Maurice- were he alive.

Fitzgibbons' absence has been evident this past year with the rudderless, numbskull politics of the City Council minority.

Would Maurice have endorsed a politically-toxic lawsuit against Jim Doyle with Hoboken on it's knees in the wake of a hurricane?  Doubt it.

Would Maurice have endorsed downplaying the suffering of residents, opposing emergency aid for residents and having local politicians donate to charities "across the state" instead of here at home?  Doubt it.

Would Maurice have allowed a Nazi Truck in a School Board election?  Never.

Unfortunately without him, the inmates are running the asylum.  The inmates at 1200 Washington Street.

There is a smart operative, Tommy Bertoli (aka Handsome Devil) but he's busy in Jersey City with the Fulop campaign. Perhaps a moot point; GA's not sure he'd associate himself professionally with our Hoboken crew.  Especially Barracato.

Ah, well.  R.I.P. Maurice Fitzgibbons.

Now Playing: The Obsessed Flounder

Michael Douglas had Glen Close (Fatal Attraction, 1987); GA's stalker has gills (The Obsessed Flounder, 2012).

The Obsessed Flounder, shot entirely in Hoboken, is the true story of a flounder who fancied himself a shark, and became the pet of a wealthy madwoman .  Convinced he was a shark, the loaded lunatic  indulged the flounder with unlimited fish-food, letting him swim amok in Hoboken waters.

And he did.

Unencumbered by morals, ethics or conscience, he threw her fish-food about, attracting an assortment of sea-slugs, and they all lived happily in her non-profit tank at 1200 Washington Street. What did they do?   Day after day after day, they would all think of ways to please her for more fish-food.  Yum-yum.

But the flounder.... he had only one thing on his mind:  hunting blogfish.

And believing he was a shark (not  a flounder of mediocre skills, sub-average intelligence, and issues with girl-fish),  his schemes were so-ill conceived and poorly executed, they exploded publicly and embarrassingly, making a mess all over her tank, muddying up the fish-food lady.  Ka-boom.

And the blogfish always got away; they were smarter and faster.

But still, the hapless flounder believed he was extraordinary, never saw his own failure, so his schemes became more and more outrageous: a lawsuit,  midnight flyers, a Nazi Truck, a fishy charity funding a 527 political organization for the Mayor of Weehawken... but the focus of his serial failures, the object of his obsession: the proprietor of this blog.   GA-fish.

And when he wasn't hunting her, he hunted Da Seahorse.

But the flounder's obsession with GA-fish so ruled his teeny-weenie fish-brain, that he forgot how to swim and lost the election for Move Forward!   Yep, it was a Kids-Fish sweep!  The sea-slugs and bottom-feeders got angry at the flounder.    Some started ratting out the flounder to GA-fish.  Some wanted him out of their tank but that would cut off their fish food supply.  Some said, "The fish food just ain't worth the trouble"and swam away.

Was losing an election enough repudiation for the obsessed flounder?  No.

On December 23, 2012  it appears he published a long, rambling rant on The Hoboken Reporter using the moniker, 'CyberDetRob'.   When his perceived identity- Flounder Boy- was revealed in two responses below it seems the flustered fishy had his comment deleted.

Thanks goodness for the Google cache,The Obsessed Flounder ends with this rambling ode to his obsession: bloggers.

The Russo Robocall

Did you get it?   GA did on Christmas Eve, at 7 PM.

Sponge Bob Interruptus.

Who do you think it was?  3rd Ward Councilman Michael Russo!  He, his wife and daughter wished me a Merry Christmas, and somberly told me that in lieu of his annual Christmas card, he "will be making a monetary contribution to Sandy relief across the state"

Did he tell you the same thing?

I'm guessing he did, since GA's gotten emails from all over Hoboken from folks just as special to Councilman Russo as I am.   GA appreciates the 'Merry Christmas' greeting.

But the rest of the call was as transparent as a Fredrick's of Hollywood nightie.

It appears the 3rd Ward Councilman's robocall went city-wide.

Citywide?  Does Russo send Christmas cards to all six wards of Hoboken?  Of course not.   So, his Christmas Eve robocall notified the entire city he was calling them in lieu of the card they weren't going to receive.   That's like you calling a stranger and telling them the call is in lieu of your annual birthday gift. Make sense?

But Russo is a politician and you're not. So the call was about sending a message.

So what was it?

Russo wants the entire city to know he "will" contribute to Sandy relief "across the state."

A source told GA that's the new Dark Side strategy to oppose the Mayor:  minimize the Sandy impact within Hoboken and emphasize Sandy damage outside of Hoboken.  Then they'll attack Mayor Zimmer for over-reacting, talking to the media, and asking the government for 'too much' help.  You saw Occhipinti do that at last week's City Council- opposing $2.25 M in emergency appropriations on the basis that the Jersey shore suffered more 'structural' damage.  The same Occhipinti that (it appears) left 5 tons of Louisiana donations for us in Bayonne.  Beth Mason is fundraising for the rest of Hudson County, including Weehawken Mayor Turner's 527 political organization and throws parties in Secaucus.  Now Russo in his robocall tells us he" will" contribute to Sandy relief "across the state."

Across the state.

What about contributing  here  in Hoboken?  One option is  a bipartisan 501(c)(3) dedicated to helping Hoboken residents by sponsoring grants based on need.

Russo's schtick is disingenuous on so many levels.
  • The cash he dropped on a city-wide robocall probably matches the cost of Christmas cards to his ward.
  • Russo's primary residence is Church Towers. Like many Church Tower residents, he has a beach house, likely to have had storm-related damage.  (Poor Dave Roberts' house floated out to sea)  Is this another reason why he says he's giving "across the state"?
  • Note his promise, he "will" contribute.  Will?   Why hasn't he already?  The storm was 2 months ago.
  • Why didn't he name the Sandy relief charity? He's had 2 months to come up with one.  Imagine, recording a message for all six wards of Hoboken but not caring enough to select a charity you are allegedly giving to.   Here you go, a list of Hurricane Sandy charities from that GA found in 2 clicks of a mouse.

Mason Fundraiser Claim: "Money raised! "

It's right there on the Hudson County Recovers Facebook page: "Packed house... Money raised!"

GA doesn't doubt the first assertion is true.  Amidst buzz that Mason was harvesting guests from Hoboken's senior buildings, an actual senior from a senior building posted this on GA:

According to Jimmy, the invite to a "freebie" was taped on his door.  We can assume such "freebies" blanketed our senior buildings the way her midnight flyers blanketed all six wards of Hoboken during Move Forward's disastrous School Board campaign. (that massive FAIL was engineered by Mason operative, James Barracato.)

If a seasoned politician must harvest warm bodies to fill a room, these words come to mind:  "Houston, we've had a problem."

NASA Mission Control struggle to save Apollo 13. credit: NASA
But even the great minds at NASA's Mission Control couldn't rescue this dud from crashing to Earth.

Launched on the epic delusions of
an out-of-control narcissist,  aimed at the Hudson County press (the room had a 'media table'), the gala was supposed to generate buzz for Mason in Hudson County under the pretext of raising 'recovery' cash. (Recovery for Weehawken's one damaged building vs. Hoboken's 2,248- per FEMA field survey.)

And in case a stranger wandering in from Mars or Venus didn't understand WHO the event was about (not what), a dais was arranged at one end of the room.

Now GA's been to many a bar mitzvah- in Brooklyn, Queens, on Staten Island, Long Island- and that's how they do it: the bar-mitzvah boy (or girl) sits dead-center on a dais surrounded by his/her best pimply, post-pubescent friends.  As you know, a bar-mitzvah is a WHO-event; the coming-of-age of a particular Jewish boy or girl- who, like Beth Mason, sits up on the dais.

So it was with Mason on Thursday night.  Hudson County's bar-mitzvah girl sat on her dais at the front of a room filled with round tables. Elevated, the dais signified the individuals on it as the 'important' people in the room, and the host at the center was, in bar-mitzvah girl fashion, its star.

Beth Mason.

Now you know why seniors were needed to fill the room.

On Facebook HCR brags, "Money raised!"

How much?

In light of the fact that the room was filled with 'freebie' guests. The ticket price, $300/head was certainly prohibitive to seniors on a fixed income, so clearly they were not it's original 'target' guests.  GA supposes upscale residents and/or politicos were. Then the 'media table' attendees would fill the pages of their respective publications with  'Politician X showed up' or 'Mover-and-shaker Y was there'. Instead, the event turned out 'F-R-E-E-B-I-E'.

From the pic posted, it looks like it was a 'wine and beer' event.  So, here's what La Reggia charges per head:

So, that would have cost (Mason) $57.50 per person.

If she bought 150 seats (conservatively), the night cost her $8,625- not including "money raised".  The "money raised" would be whatever she threw in on top of that plus any tickets that were actually purchased.

Terry Castellano attended Mason gala
Terry Castellano and her son, manager of Move Forward's failed Nazi-Truck campaign, John Castellano, were there. Ruben Ramos RSVPed on Facebook but GA hasn't heard whether he came.  Nor Jamie Cryan who had also RSVPed on Facebook.

The Mason posse, Matt Calicchio and James 'I lost an election and all I got with this lousy Nazi Truck' Barracato were there. But who thinks they paid the $300 ticket price? has opened their books- they've raised about $250K so far.  What about Mason's HCR?

GA has noted the custody of $250K worth of donations from New Orleans' 'Train of Hope' is unclear.  Occhipinti and Mason drove them to Bayonne on November 10, 2012. And then... silence.

If the 'Train of Hope' donations were not distributed to Hoboken's needy, will they be 're-gifted' to Hudson County as 'gifts' of the HCR?

That's reason enough for Mason to release how much "money raised!" at last Thursday's  Hudson County  Recovers gala.

Hoboken's Train of Nope?

counter-clockwise: top-left: Bayonne Mayor/HCDO Chairman Mark Smith, bot-left: Councilwoman Beth Mason, bot-right: Nazi-Truck at Wallace School on October 16, 2012.  Nazi Truck video filmed/produced by Mason videographer Tim Brendel. According to multiple sources the Nazi Truck strategy was orchestrated by Mason operative James Barracato, top-right: Nazi Truck rides up and down Washington street looping swastikas and offensive symbols to the public on October 16 and October 17 until it was condemned by Hoboken rabbis

Here's what we know:
Then what happened?

The Occhipinti- Mason  trail of photo-ops and self-promoting press releases to the media stop right there... after a couple of headlines. Like this:

Hoboken-bound?  Not exactly; they went to Bayonne.

Mission accomplished?    Did the "Hoboken-bound donations" ever reach Hoboken?

It would be absolutely extraordinary for Occhipinti and Mason to have distributed any amount of gifts- no less 13 pallets (half)- without fanfare: announcements, photo-ops, press releases, Twitters and Facebook postings.   (You're talking about a guy who photographs 4th Ward potholes for Facebook and demands an 'action plan' from City Hall to clean Jersey City's graffiti.)

Yet there were none.

It appears custody of that 5 tons of love ends in Bayonne. Unless it did make it to Hoboken- but how and where?

A busload of volunteers were rounded up to BRING the donations to Bayonne. Who brought them back to Hoboken?

Why did Occhipinti coordinate this effort with Bayonne only and not City Hall?

Scores of volunteers showed up at City Hall every day to assist flood victims, the National Guard was on site, and FEMA had a cavernous space on Washington Street.  Did Occhipinti try to coordinate the distribution of aid with the federal agencies on site in Hoboken?

GA is finding this all a bit coincidental given the recent efforts of Beth Mason to woo Bayonne's mayor (and HCDO Chairman) Mark Smith.  Al Sullivan noticed it, too in his column last week
Hoboken Councilwoman Beth Mason, who recently caught up with Santa Claus at the Bayonne Tree Lighting (and possibly Mayor Smith) appears to want some county or state seat in her stocking.
And of course her 'charity' Hudson County Recovers, that selects HC municipalities to help not by need but by ballot box: all 33rd District municipalities are included and Bayonne, in the 31st but whose mayor runs the HCDO.

So on November 10, 2012 Mason rides a busload of 'gifts' to Bayonne.   Arranged by her wardrobe accessory, Tim.

Is that why Timmy is publicly downplaying the damage to our city?   Is that why the 'Train of Hope' donations ended up in Bayonne?

The politicization of charitable giving, particularly in a time of  disaster, is truly disgusting wherever it occurs.

GA doesn't understand why ALL political factions are not working together to help our City now.

Why four members of the City Council (Mason, Occhipinti, Russo, Castellano) are wasting taxpayer dollars and throwing government into gridlock while they fight to keep Councilman Doyle off the City Council dais. Now. As residents struggle to recover and need government to work.

Why Beth Mason is sponsoring Weehawken Mayor Turner's 527 political organization with her so-called 'recovery' fund- instead of giving it to, a charity planning to disburse funds directly to residents in need.  Why Mason held her December 20 fundraiser in Secaucus not Hoboken, where she could have helped a local business, one in her Ward.

Why Occhipinti showed contempt and ignorance for the suffering of Hoboken residents last Wednesday night.

So IF the generosity of folks in Louisiana never made it to Hoboken, would anyone be surprised?

Tim Fights Flood Aid, Fights For Parade

Sources: HHA Executive Director Carmelo Garcia said Timmy a 'no-show' for Sandy disaster at the HHA. Maybe Carmelo should have checked Timmy's bar-hopping/ dining schedule on Facebook?

Has this big a moron EVER served on the Hoboken City Council?

Not in a million years would Hoboken residents struggling with homelessness, repair and reconstruction, or simple mold remediation EVER expect their elected representative to:
  1. Argue against his constituents receiving emergency aid from the City.
  2. Justify his opposition to AID by telling his constituents' they didn't fare as badly as others in New Jersey.
  3. While belittling our suffering and fighting emergency appropriations for residents, ask for a March 2013 parade which will cost the city hundreds of thousands of dollars in security, overtime and clean-up.
Well, that's exactly what Tim Occhipinti did on Wednesday night at the City Council (and on Facebook).

Da Horsey  has posted the video clip if you want to watch the idiot's lips move as he betrays enormous ignorance of what floods do to homes/buildings, what is required to make them safely  habitable, the extent of the damage to his own city and the pain of his constituents, the pain of us ALL.

Here's the transcript:
Tim: We don't have a guarantee we're going to get a specific number from FEMA but once we go out and buy these items, we have to pay for them, one way or another... the taxpayers will foot the bill for what we don't get from FEMA.  We've already gone out for 4 point-something million... another 2.65 million.  My question is is that... some of these items could possibly hold till we know exactly where we are to be reimbursed... there's only so much money that can come from the Federal government... they've gotta bring it from somewhere... the entire Jersey shore coastline was almost destroyed... we had some very terrible devastation ourselves but we're not facing the structural damage of an entire town washed away.

Giatino: speak for yourself.  Im sorry.

Tim: I'm just saying structural.. I know, I know, I know your personal... a lot of people suffered a lot of flood damage... I'm talking about homes that are razed to the ground... um, I just want to err on the side of caution.
This stupidity has more dimensions than GA cares to address.

Tim thinks that if a Hoboken building got 'washed' in flood waters but is still standing, there's no structural' damage to it, therefore not as serious as damages in other parts of the state.

Okay, moron pay attention.   GA is going to teach you about water damage (technically, Wikipedia):
Water damage is typically classified into one of the following three categories

Category 1 Water - Refers to a source of water that does not pose substantial threat to humans and classified as "Clean Water". Examples are broken water supply lines, tub or sink overflows or appliance malfunctions that involves water supply lines.

Category 2 Water - Refers to a source of water that contains a significant degree of chemical, biological or physical contaminants and causes discomfort or sickness when exposed or even consumed. Known as "Grey Water". This type carries micro organisms and nutrients of micro organisms. Examples are toilet bowls with urine (no feces), sump pump failures, seepage due to hydrostatic failure and water discharge from dishwashers or washing machines.

Category 3 Water - Known as "Black Water" and are grossly unsanitary. This water contains unsanitary agents, harmful bacteria and fungi, causing severe discomfort or sickness. Type 3 category are contaminated water sources that affects the indoor environment. This category includes water sources from sewage, seawater, rising water from rivers or streams, ground surface water or standing water. Category 2 Water or Grey Water that is not promptly removed from the structure and or have remained stagnant may be re classified as Category 3 Water. Toilet back flows that originates from beyond the toilet trap is considered black water contamination regardless of visible content or color.[4]
Hoboken was flooded with Black Water.

Got that?

Now walk down to the FEMA office relocated in the basement of City Hall, and discover what floods do to buildings that 'look' structurally sound. In some instances, re-building may be cheaper than repair and remediation.

Much of our entire city needs at least some kind of remediation- and that's the least of it.

So, now we are clear that Timmy is too intellectually lazy or plain stupid to learn about the damage to his own City, the health risks residents face from the black water wash, and what floods actually do to buildings that 'look' structurally sound.

Ask yourself, WHY is an elected official downplaying the devastation in his own city?

Is it to minimize the incredibly competent performance of Mayor Zimmer in the aftermath?  To attack her for 'over-reacting'?

Is it to provide cover for the fact that Beth Mason's Hudson County 'Recovery' effort ignores the magnitude of damage in her own city while wooing District 33 and Bayonne's HCDO Chairman Mark Smith?

Why is Timmy thinking about a parade when people are still homeless and fighting with insurance companies to recover losses?

Here, from Timmy's Facebook page a photo-op at Newark Station receiving Sandy donations from Louisiana's 'Train of Hope' then driving them (with Beth Mason) to a warehouse in Bayonne.    Last night's fundraiser for Mason's 'charity' was held in Secaucus.

 Get the picture?

Timmy collects donations and a photo-op, brings donations to Bayonne
Phony Tim argues against help for Hoboken residents while lamenting loss in other parts of the state while giving Hoboken supplies and business to other Hudson County municipalities...

...while lobbying for a parade (which costs the City hundreds of thousands for security and clean-up)

...while SUING the CITY and costing TAXPAYERS a fortune over filling a City Council vacancy using some lame-ass excuses: comparing the matter to Florida's 'Bush vs. Gore' recount decision and 'irreperable' harm to themselves if they fill Marsh's seat...

What do we NEED these people for?  Why are we paying them a salary and health benefits to duck meetings and when they attend them fight against us?

Folks, in 2015 we've gotta get rid of them- show up to the polls in droves and vote them OUT.

Mason, Russo, Castellano and Occhipinti are City Council Black Water.

Timmy takes a Facebook victory lap.

Thursday, December 20, 2012

Tim Lobbies for a Parade...

....while thousands of Hoboken residents are homeless and/or struggling to RECOVER from Hurricane Sandy.

Further, GA was told that last night's meeting, Councilman Frat-Boy actually said something to the effect of "Hoboken wasn't as badly affected (by the flood) as other parts of New Jersey."

(That is not verbatim- I NEED THE QUOTE if anyone has it.  The video clip would be even better).

Boys and girls, can we all say it together: "IDIOT."

You don't believe me that an elected representative would be such a moron, to minimize the suffering of thousands in our city as he lobbies for a parade?

Here we GO!

What do his constituents think about this?

Hint: Timmy gets his ass served to him in a green beer keg:
Lets see...... we are still in december, people in the fourth ward are trying to get there lives back in order.... hopefully everybody is coming along... some people had to relocate to other places ( friends, hotels, family etc.....) some people ARE HOMELESS BECAUSE OWNERS ARE OPTING TO SELL. (MY MOM IS HOMELESS. SHE CAN'T STAY WITH ME IN MY ONE BR APT, CAUSE ITS AGAINST MY LEASE AGREEMENT. BUT, WE WILL TRY TO GET THE ST.PADDY'S DAY PARADE FIXED.... PRIORITIES........ WHERE ARE URS...... 4TH WARD PROBLEMS SHOULD BE UR CONCERN!!!!! ALSO UR THE FIRST TO COMPLAIN ABOUT TRAFFIC LIGHT 1ST MONROE.....BUT WHEN IT GOT FIXED NEW CONTROLLER AND ALL...... NOT EVEN A TY.... COMPASSION IS PART OF POLITICS.....

Tim, although I may not have used CAPS, I think Kevin's point is extraordinarily valid. Couldn't agree more. Homelessness, property damage, traffic, no PATH, and while we're at it... fiscal cliff, gun control, health care >>>>> FAKE St. Patty's Day. #priorities

Terrible idea, if you hear what the majority of taxpayers and residents who call this their home, they don't want that drunken mess. Every year the St Pats committee and the bars say they will clean up, they will donate to clean up. They never do. It costs over 200,000 last time with all cops on call babysitting. Also we can't afford the 150,000 in ot and clean up Tim, you guys won't fund a traffic light uptown, but want to give a subsidy to the bar industry that pukes on us every weekend? If a Latino or other minority group had an event like this, they would never be tolerated. All other cultural festivals like St Anns, The PR festival and The Feast of the Madonna bring in thousands without any damage. If Those profiting or awarding themselves Parade King want to ay to clean up Hoboken or my property damage or prevent a sexual assault like last year, then maybe we can start a conversation. This is just a ploy against the Mayor. There's bigger issues in Hoboken right now.

Councilwoman Castellano has to close and Gate her own store because the drunks come in trying to use the bathroom. Seniors can't go out and Saturday Church and Synagogue Services are disrupted by the drunks screaming and harassing congregants

3 years ago, I was walking my dog and someone threw a flat screen TV out a window and it landed within 50 ft. of me. 2 years ago, I came home from the airport and someone was peeing on my stoop. So yeah, I'm pretty against the St. Patty's day nonsense.

hospitality industry my ass... what happened to the residents and what they want, what about " quality of life" .. Let the leprechauns go party in Newark, see if pissing in the streets is tolerated there for St. Patty's day!

The drunken parade is not going to save the day. Lower taxes making lower rents may help our small businesses, but this slow economy is everywhere not just here. People are a little more careful these days on their wants vr's their needs. Some of our needs at this time is to get back into some homes, put food on the table and try to get things back to normal. My daughters school is still closed ( Hoboken Catholic) so not everyones thinking of a drunken day that far ahead. Lets be realistic , what other good town with good roots and great people allow this , they laugh at what we as community tolerate and allow for a few bucks. Every main street in NJ is going through the same , go to Main Street in Montclair, go to Rutherford , its the same thing and they are not resorting to nonsense ..We should be thankful for what we have, look Sandy Hook and that community, we're worried about a few bars not making money, or someone not selling shoes really...????

Have a dry St. Patricks Day/parade...Make it about the day, the parade, the families, the food and festivities, not about the animals who need the excuse to share there habits and irresponsibility with the community..There have to be other ways to supplement funds without the potential of more issues...Its sad that we view the boosting of the local economy, through the streamline of bar related events...Its almost like saying, "come down, and get drunk so we could come back" In Brooklyn they have these events called smorgasburg with local food/beverage vendors that showcase their products. Maybe more controlled events like this could supplement the absence of the st pats. parade

It's looks like people are catching on to this aloof-doof, finally.

Crazy at the Council

By the way, that silver-haired gent is Barry Brendel, Mason political operative and father of Tim Brendel, the videographer who filmed and produced the Nazi Truck video- for Beth Mason.

Who else? Mason's Chief political operative, James Barracato, orchestrated the Nazi Truck.

So what happened to Nazi-Truck filmin' Tim?

The lil' fella's been shooting Mason's stock footage at the City Council, BoE and ZBA for years.  Since GA outed him by name and posted a pic of him filming the actual Nazi Truck video at the Zoning Board, he's... he's... vanished.  Poof!  What's the matter, lil' fella?  Don't like attention?  Then you'd hate being the one on your Nazi Truck.  Glad Daddy stepped in to do a real man's job- attacking citizens doing public service for their community for a cash-engorged lunatic. That's what real men do for a living.

GA thought prostitution was illegal in New Jersey?

As you can see, Pop is still collecting stock footage for: (1) attacks against anyone in or supporting the Zimmer administration whether or not they are actually seeking elected office and... (2) a future run for elected office in Hudson County or the U.S. House of Representatives.  (Sires, watch your back.)

Dark Siders, we've gotta talk.   When are you going to see that taking crazy-money is just  not worth it?   Because you can't separate the crazy from the money.

You TAKE the money, you GET the crazy.

And throwing government into gridlock after a HURRICANE has destroyed over 2,200 buildings, displaced Hoboken residents, destroyed our property... is CRAZY.  Dark Siders, do you think ANYONE has the appetite to see those four MORONS waste tax dollars and play stupid political games (taking turns missing meetings we PAY them to attend)?

GA asks the rational ones among you to make a decision.

See this image of white cells attacking enemy bacteria?  Without our white cells,  bacteria would overpower and undermine the health of our body; weakening, perhaps destroying it.

But no, the white cells recognize when the body is in danger and attack these destructive invaders.  Once defeated, bacteria are expelled in bodily discharge (like mucus, pus, or urine.)

Face it, Dark Side.  You've got an infection. A serious one. It cost you the School Board election. Now, just like your own white cells that keep you healthy, you must recognize those bacteria among you which you have until now embraced.

And you have embraced your infection because you believed the benefit (money) out-weighed the effects (crazy).   Can you still say that?

No, you can't.

Your infection is literally killing you. If you think any of you will ever win a Hoboken election on its merits again, just pass GA what you're smoking.

Your infection got you a Nazi Truck and a suicidal lawsuit to gridlock government during disaster recovery.... did you just learn that throwing money at candidates doesn't win you an election?

GA wants the RATIONAL ones to expel your infection.  Without you, it will be isolated.

Because GA hears from sources that no one at the County Level will TOUCH her.  NO ONE wants her on their ticket.   But, like you, they are trying to figure out how to tap the checkbook without embracing the crazy.

It can't be done.

Cut your losses and cut the crazy.  If you aren't sure who the rational ones are, Dark-Siders here:

Anthony Romano, Freeholder
Ruben Ramos, Assemblyman 33rd District
Frank Raia

Michael Russo
Theresa Castellano

Now, get busy.   I know, you're afraid she'll sue you.  She probably will.

Star Ledge: 1 Guest Escapes

Daddy Needs Help

Beth Mason political operative Barry Brendel struggles with his camera at the Zoning Board last night.  Better send Junior next time!

GA noticed that Beth Mason operative Barry Brendel, (father of  Nazi-Truck  videographer Tim Brendel and formerly known as 'Not-Perry') had a bit of trouble operating his camera at the Zoning Board meeting last night.

The Brendels, father and son, have become something of a joke at our meetings.  They've been coming regularly since March 27, 2012, so by now have collected enough stock footage  to cover an army of Nazi Trucks.  In fact, you could circle the globe with Beth Mason operatives' Nazi Trucks showing Brendel ZBA footage.... but... they still need more!   Why?

GA hears from sources that a certain Weehawken salamander with free reign over the Evil Checkbook  and nursing a fatal obsession (fatal for his career) has said "we've got her on the run!"

Really?  Remind me to wear my running shoes.

Anyway, it looks like the 'Big Gun' they sent last night turned out to be a limp water pistol.  Yep,  he fumbled with his camera, trying to find the 'ON  button then scrambled for the manual.  Too bad he left these on 'Shady Lane':

It's Ba-a-a-ack!

Yep, it's true!  There's Mayor Zimmer on the first PATH train outta Dodge this morning with PANYNJ Deputy Executive Director Bill Baroni.

At last, PATH service between Hoboken and 33rd Street has been restored.  Phew.

Thanks to all who worked around the clock to get it running, and to our mayor for her tireless advocacy for the people of Hoboken.

Star Ledge Reports 58 Missing

Oh, no!

In 2 weeks 58 guests dropped off the Mason guest list for her Hudson County Recovers (HCR) adventure in self-promotion for Hudson County elected office...  it's down to 536!

Amidst rumors (since confirmed) that Mason is desperately seeking seniors to fill empty seats in the cavernous Secaucus restaurant, La Reggia, 2 more guests have agreed to go, one the wife of political operative James Barracato.

Well, the Barracatos live in Weehawken, where FEMA assessed 1 building was damaged.  That damaged building will share HCR funds raised with the 2,248 buildings damaged in Hoboken.

In fact, Hoboken Councilwoman Mason is SO concerned with Hoboken recovery that she is helping a Secaucus restaurant recover!  One wonders how many restaurants in the 2nd Ward of hoboken could use the business?

But Hoboken voters overwhelmingly favored electing a spatula so Mason is onto voters who don't know her, and is throwing money their way.

The current object of her affections appears to be Bayonne Mayor Mark Smith, whose other hat is the HCDO Chairman. According to the adorable Al Sullivan in his column this week:
Hoboken Councilwoman Beth Mason, who recently caught up with Santa Claus at the Bayonne Tree Lighting (and possibly Mayor Smith) appears to want some county or state seat in her stocking. Unfortunately for most of the other anti-Zimmer people, they might have to take comfort in coal.
Mason, who purports to be Jewish (when she can accuse her critics of anti-Semitism) showed reverence for Santa in Bayonne but she was a no-show at the Menorah lighting at City Hall.

Ho Ho Ho!

Maybe because the presiding Jewish cleric,  Rabbi Shapiro of Chabad had said this about Beth Mason's Nazi Truck:
“I’ve seen pictures and I think it’s despicable. I’m appalled and shocked that anyone can use an image of such hatred and bigotry. I don’t know whose side, what side, if they’re repeating something, but how can one be so insensitive to Holocaust survivors who will walk by, or people who had grandparents who survived the camps, and have to witness such an image driving around the city?”

He added, “Whoever is responsible should immediately remove it and apologize. I am shocked this could happen in this day and age. In other countries it’s a crime to use that image. We have freedom of speech, but a million and a half Jewish babies were killed…this is not something that should be used for some political gain.”
Why did Mason miss her chance to see the rabbi in person and apologize for her Nazi Truck?

Multiple sources have outed the mastermind of the obscenity as Mason's closest political operative, James Barracato.  And her videographer Tim Brendel shot the vile Nazi truck video.  Even if Mason wants the rabbi to believe she was unaware of the evil act, why wouldn't she apologize on behalf of her political operatives?

I know why.

It takes character to say "I'm sorry."  It also takes actually being sorry to say "I'm sorry."

Message from School Superintedant: Re: School Massacre

Dear Parents and Guardians:

There are few words, if any, that can express the sorrow surrounding the horrific events in Newtown, Connecticut. We share a shock and disbelief that cannot be quantified. I join all residents of Hoboken in sending our thoughts, prayers, and condolences to the families and to the many people who are coping with this tragedy.

The families of Hoboken are also coping with the tragedy in many ways. It is natural for parents and children to have some level of anxiety, given the circumstances, and knowing that there is no practice that could be put into place that would be 100% effective in preventing acts of violence. We can be well prepared to deal with a variety of incidents in our schools in partnership with other first responders and community agencies.

You may not be aware that the Hoboken Public Schools are designated as a MOSS (Making our Schools Safe) school district. Officials from the New Jersey Department of Education reviewed our school security plans this year, and have come to the district to assess our readiness. We have done very well with the assessments and we continue to improve by conducting drills and evaluating our own performance. We also enjoy something not present in many other school districts. We have school security personnel at each building, a security camera system, and an electronic means of completing background checks on all school visitors. In addition, I know that the officers of the Hoboken Police Department are very well trained. We include them on our training activities and we assist them with their training to respond to incidents in
schools, such as the multi-agency event held last year at Hoboken High School.

As our thoughts turn to the opening of school on Monday, our parents may be confronted with a variety of discussions regarding the events in Connecticut. Children typically have many questions, and as a parent, it is sometimes difficult to discuss such an incident with a child. There is no one set way of having this discussion. I have included a link and articles that may be helpful to parents and teachers.

The counselors and teachers are prepared to work with the children when we return to school on Monday. As always, each child is treated as an individual and we will work to monitor student responses to the tragedy very closely. Please do not hesitate to contact your child’s school should you feel the need to do so.

Killer NOT From Hoboken- UPDATED

Ryan Lanza, Hoboken resident, was mis-identified by CNN as the shooter.  FOX News has identified his brother Adam Lanza of Newport, Connecticut as the shooter.
(Original post)
OMG.... the Newton, Connecticut school shooter lived in Hoboken.
NEWTOWN, CT - CNN has reported the name of the suspected shooter at a Connecticut elementary school Friday.

The suspected gunman has been identified as Ryan Lanza, a  law enforcement source told CNN.
ABC News reported that he was 24 years old.

He died at the scene.

The shooting took place at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut.

A law enforcement official in Washington said the attacker had ties to the school and that one of the guns was a .223-caliber rifle.

Authorities say 27 people were killed, including 18 children

(Updated, 3:302 PM)
The now-deceased killer lived on upper Grand Street.  Police have closed off the street. A friend sent this:
I saw the police cars racing over there at 1pm when I was picking up (child's name redacted)  at wallace
It's reported his brother is in custody.  The street is closed off.

It looks like Facebook pulled Lanza's page down.

A friend sent this, was posted at 3:18 PM.  Ugh, the story keeps getting worse.

(Updated, 3:45 PM)

“I am horrified and sickened by the tragedy in Newtown. My heart breaks for the families of all the victims. On behalf of the residents of Hoboken, we extend our deepest sympathy to the community of Newtown for their tremendous loss.

The City of Hoboken will continue to assist the Connecticut State Police in any way requested.”

PATCH posted this update:

'It Wasn't Me' Hoboken Man Named as Shooter Writes

The man identified in media reports Friday as the shooter in the second deadliest school shooting in American history has told friends that he thinks his developmentally disabled brother may have committed the crime, Patch has learned.

A close friend of Ryan Lanza who requested to not be identified told Patch that he spoke to Lanza as he was making his way home from work to Hoboken. Lanza also took to his Facebook page to rail against CNN naming him as the suspect in the shooting in Newtown, Conn.

“I’m on the bus home now, it wasn’t me,” Lanza wrote.

Lanza’s mother, Nancy, a school teacher, is believed to be among the dead. More than 30 individuals, including 18 students, are believed to have died in the mass shooting
. What the hell is going on?  I just got this:
supposedly.... Adam Lanza used his brother's id and is the shooter and Ryan is in Hoboken police custody??
(Updated 3:55 PM)
FOX News reports the shooter is Ryan's BROTHER, Adam Lanza.
WASHINGTON — Fox News is reporting the shooter in the Connecticut elementary school has been identified as Adam Lanza, 20.

Law enforcement initially said the shooter was 24-year-old Ryan Lanza, however Fox News said the shooter is Ryan Lanza’s brother, Adam Lanza.

Adam Lanza, 20, shot his mother dead and targeted her kindergarten class at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn., sources sais. Sources also told The Post that Lanza’s mother was a teacher at the school and he “had a dispute with her.”

Police in Hoboken, NJ are questioning Lanza’s older brother Ryan, 24, but he is not a suspect.
According to CNN, the suspect’s mother is a teacher at the school and is among those dead.

An official said that a gun used in the attacks is a .223-caliber rifle. The official also said that New Jersey state police are searching a location in that state in connection with the shootings, said by an official in Connecticut to have left 27 dead, including 18 children.

The official in Washington spoke on the condition of anonymity because the source was not authorized to speak on the record about the developing criminal investigation.

At least 27 people were killed on Friday when a shooter allegedly opened fire inside an elementary school in Connecticut, according to the Associated Press.

18 of those victims are children.

An official, speaking on condition of anonymity for the same reason, told the Associated Press the gunman is among the dead.

The killings happened at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, about 60 miles northeast of New York City
(Updated 4:55PM)
It looks like CNN effed up big time- in the rush to report the story, mis-identified the killer and compounded the young man's misery.  It was his BROTHER.

He's lost his mother and brother and has to live with his brother's mass murder of 20 children and  6 adults- the worst school shooting in American history.

It is horrible, horrible.

Now I will just think about those kids, ages 5-10, that won't get a chance to grow up and live a full like, and know love and create their own families.... and all of the families of those murdered- and Ryan Lanza.
