H411 DELETES Vital Emergency Information

This post is for any of you who still doubt Hoboken411.com is a political spin operation that doesn't give a rat's ass about public safety or the health and welfare of the Hoboken community.

And I will urge you to question the motivations of elected officials and wannabe elected officials who enable this threat to public safety by their patronage: 2nd Ward Councilwoman Beth Mason and Micheal Novak.

Last Friday, a GA reader emailed this:

I knew the lousy (expletive) would do this so I did a screen cap yesterday. Someone named Design Chick posted a link showing how to get alerts from the city.

There is no tone to her remarks. She is simply saying this worked for me.

The (expletive) deleted it. Someone thanked her - he didn't delete that.

Do people need any more evidence that Perry is trying to make sure the public DOES NOT HAVE VITAL INFORMATION???

Didja get that?

This foul-mouthed GA reader found a post on Hoboken411.com CONTAINING A LINK TO CITY ALERTS. And what did Hoboken411 do with it?

PERRY KLAUSSEN DELETED IT.

Yup. But not before he/she took this screen shot:

Click HERE to see the linked page that Perry Klaussen deleted.

It looks like this (image below).

The RED buttons are City ALERTS: (911 service down, 911 service restored, car-towing on emergency routes, state of emergency declared in Hoboken, etc.), the GREEN buttons are important Community Notices (additional free off-street parking available, parking permit renewal information, taxi rules, etc.).

So, Hoboken41..com DELETED the link to this vital public emergency information.

Why? Can the political patrons of Hoboken411.com answer:
  • Does your hatred of Dawn Zimmer extend to the people of Hoboken?
  • Is the price of your ambition for higher office the welfare of our community?

Instead of public safety information, THIS is what the Hoboken411 spin machine wants you to know:

ZIMMER FROZE THE BABY JESUS.

Now... witness Hoboken411.com ghostwriter -- the angry man, at the next City Council meeting where you can watch him excoriate the administration's 'lack of response' to the blizzard emergency, a bloodless choreography for Hoboken411's benefactoress on the City Council dais.

Don't buy it.

And spread the word.

We have an election in May that will either leave us in the hands of people who view us as an impediment in their war on the mayor vs. those who don't.

  1. You missed the part where 411 stated "Pay Up! – While taxes haven’t been reduced – now the city wants even more of your money to let kids play sports – which has been free for 60 years".
In fact on 6/30/10 the Hoboken municipal levy was $60mm.7/1 was the first non state run budget in a couple of years.Today (depending on the exact amount of police retirements) it stands at $54.5-55.5mm. That is a drop of 7.25-9%.The figure does not include the $1.83mm of surplus (one time shot)sent back in the 4th Q,which would be an additional 3-3 1/2%. see:
    http://www.hobokenrevolt.com/forum/topics/study-finds-majority-of-nj.
There you can see that average NJ town (561 total) showed a 7% rise. Hoboken was one of only 60 municipalities that saw a stable or cut in taxes. I would conservatively guess that we had the largest (or top 5) drop in the muni levy.

  2. Speaking as a catholic (the thinking is that it's ok to make fun of stuff about your own tribe) I thought the snow-filled creche (that's what they call 'em) was kind of hilarious. I was picturing the wisemen saying 'where the fuck did he go?'.

But I should caution - I'm going to hell.

  4. H411's really grasping at straw now if they're making hay out of the manger. Wise men are getting hard to come by.

  5. No surprise here, today's return to enforcement of normal parking regulations for snow removal is not reported in Mason411. Once again, they pointedly don't want their readers to know what's going on. It increases the chances for anger and inconvenience and withholds news that the city is working.

The announcement is carried in MSV.

Community website, my ass. Mason411 is so far behind MSV (and HJ) at this point in terms of providing basic information to the public in a timely manner that it should simply be re-branded as what it is: Mason411. The 411 that works for Mason and only for Mason.

  6. Wait until the HUMC meeting tonight. I keep hearing that Beth is trying undermine the spinoff. If it happens I'm curious how Mason411 will spin it. Or, will they just ignore it?
